Scholarly Interests:

Research and teaching in systematics, biogeography and ecology of soil, freshwater, and marine nematodes, especially plant parasitic cyst nematodes; with emphasis on similarities and differences among taxa, and phylogenetic relationships based on molecular data. Molecular systematics in selected insect groups. Discovery and development of resistance genes in soybean to soybean cyst nematode and study of molecular pathways in resistant and susceptible cultivars based on large array analyses and other molecular techniques. Teaching of courses in Molecular Systematics and Phylogeny to nematology and entomology students.
