There is one monument and one event within the eastern edge of the buffer, both referring to the recovery of a substantial quantity of Roman pottery and coins during a watching brief on wetland improvements to the west of the River idle. An associated column base indicated that a structure had been located at the site. The types of pottery represented suggested the structure had a religious function, possibly a shrine or temple, but subsequent geophysical survey did not identify any anomalies. There are no Scheduled Monuments, listed buildings or registered parks within the site or buffer. The National Mapping Programme aerial mapping project did not record any features within the site or buffer, though cropmarks of probable Iron Age to Roman field systems were recorded just to the north.
