There is one monument and one event within the eastern edge of the buffer, both referring to the recovery of a substantial quantity of Roman pottery and coins during a watching brief on wetland improvements to the west of the River idle. The types of pottery represented suggested the structure had a religious function, possibly a shrine or temple, but subsequent geophysical survey did not identify any anomalies.
