Founded in 1967 by Datuk Lai Siew Wah, Ireka Corporation Berhad (‘Ireka’) was listed on Bursa in 1993. The Group is currently focused on four core businesses: Construction, Real Estate, Technologies and Urban Transportation.

Ireka (www.ireka.com.my) began its business as a small earthworks contractor for large open cast tin mines and construction. In the 1980s, it emerged as one of the largest local earthwork contractors in Malaysia. Throughout the 1990s and early 2000s it constructed some of the country’s most notable infrastructure projects including civil engineering, building and public utilities.

CONSTRUCTION

The Group’s construction business is represented by Ireka Engineering & Construction Sdn Bhd in Malaysia (IECSB). For over 50 years, IECSB has achieved a number of significant milestones, contributing to nation-building through the plethora of major- sized civil and structural engineering projects.

IECSB’s areas of expertise covers construction of highways and expressways, bridges, tunnels, water treatment plants, golf courses, commercial developments, convention halls, condominiums, shopping malls, hotels, hospitals, office towers and harbour development; all delivered through general contracting and Design & Build programmes.

Ireka’s construction portfolio include the International Airport Earthworks, Main Utilities and Runway One, sections of the Kuala Lumpur Middle-Ring Road II and North-South Expressway, Putrajaya Government Administrative Offices, DiGi Head Office (D’House), Technology Park Malaysia, Wisma AIG, OCBC Bank KL Headquarters, The Westin Kuala Lumpur, two towers of Voque Residences at KL Eco City (consists of one 62-storey and another 56-storey block building) and Brunei Embassy in Beijing. IECSB also completed a section of the public transportation line of the MRT V7 (from Bandar Tun Hussein Onn to Taman Mesra), The RuMa Hotel and Residences (The RuMa, KLCC), extension of the Pantai KL Hospital. Ongoing and recent building work projects include, KaMi Mont’ Kiara Residences in , ASTA Enterprise Park and Dwi@Rimbun Kasia, Nilai, extension of the Pantai Ayer Keroh Hospital, Malacca and extension of the Regency Specialist Hospital in Johor. Ireka Development Management Sdn Bhd (IDM), the wholly owned subsidiary of Ireka undertakes the property development activities and its award- winning projects include: • The Westin Kuala Lumpur - FIABCI Malaysia Property Awards 2005 (Hotel Development Category), FIABCI World Prix d’Excellence Award 2006 (Best Hotel & Resort Category) and Hospitality Asia Platinum Awards 2005 – 2006 (The Award for Excellence – Best New Hotel). Internationally, Ireka designed and built the City International Hospital in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam which opened in 2014 and built the Brunei Embassy in Beijing, China in 1999.

Under its real estate portfolio, Ireka created the much celebrated i-ZEN brand of luxury properties and its sister brand, zenZ targeting the mid-market property sector. The essence of i-ZEN is embodied in the 6S philosophy of Style, Service, Security, Sophistication, Soul and Sustainability, which are demonstrated in its property portfolio. Under the iconic i-ZEN brand, the completed projects include luxury properties like Seni Mont’ Kiara, Kiaraville, Tiffani by i-ZEN, Vialla Aseana, The RuMa Hotel and Residences, etc.

The essence of zenZ is embodied in the 5E principles of Economical, Evolutionary, Efficient, Essential and Eco-conscious. Its completed projects include Kasia Greens and 10 Shopz, both in Nilai, Negeri Sembilan. Ireka’s Technologies arm, i-Tech Network Solutions Sdn Bhd (i-Tech’) was set up as a systems integration and networking company in 2003, offering customized IT infrastructure solutions and outsource services. From there, i-Tech expanded to provide cloud services, co-location services, disaster recovery services, hyper- converged infrastructure, and managed services in Malaysia.

Its clients included prestigious companies from the oil and gas industries, property developers, online equities broking platforms, insurance and hospitality sectors, manufacturing industries and more.

In 2018, SAFEHOUSE (I-Tech) won the Rising Star Awards at Crayon World Summit 2018. In April 2019, SAFEHOUSE received the“2018 Value Added Partner” Award From Integricity Group

URBAN TRANSPORTATION

The connectivity and mobility of people in urban centres are pivotal to the growth of economic and social activities of cities. As a result of the changing economic landscape globally, governments around the world, including Malaysia, have been prioritising on developing urban transportation ecosystem that is greener and more efficient.

In line with the above, Ireka ventured into the urban transportation business through partnering with CRRC Urban Traffic (Europe) Co Ltd (CRRC UT), a member of China based CRRC Group in December 2017. In July 2019, Ireka and CRRC UT established a joint-venture company, Mobilus Sdn Bhd to spearhead its urban transportation business in Malaysia and Southeast Asia (ASEAN).

One of the key focuses for Mobilus is on green energy and smart transportation solutions, in particular implementing Automated Rapid Transit (ART) system and electric buses for cities in the region.

ART is a leading edge technology developed by CRRC Group. ART allows for high passenger capacity and a lower cost of implementation and operates on clean sources of energy like electricity or hydrogen. The multi- carriage, electric-powered unit is equipped with sensors that read virtual track markings of a road, enabling it to automatically navigate its own route, without the need for a physical rail track.

STRATEGIC PARTNERSHIPS

CRRC UT In December 2017, Ireka Corporation Berhad signed agreements with CRRC Urban Traffic (Europe) Co Ltd (CRRC UT), a member of the China based CRRC Group to invest in Ireka and to establish a joint venture relationship between them. CRRC Group is the world’s largest manufacturer of rolling stock and rail related products and systems. This joint venture has included the setting up of Mobilus Sdn Bhd to spearhead the urban transportation business opportunities in Malaysia and ASEAN countries. HANKYU HANSHIN PROPERTIES CORP In April, 2018 Ireka Corporation Berhad (“Ireka”) entered into agreements with Hankyu Hanshin Properties Corp (“Hankyu Hanshin”) to jointly develop the Rimbun Kasia project in Nilai, with a combined Gross Development Value of over RM400 million.

Osaka-based Hankyu Hanshin is a wholly-owned subsidiary of one of Japan’s most prolific conglomerates, Hankyu Hanshin Holdings, Inc., with core businesses in real estate, urban transportation, entertainment and communications, travel, international transportation and hotels. Hankyu Hanshin Holdings, Inc. is listed on the First Section of the Tokyo Stock Exchange.

OTHER PARTNERSHIPS

Ireka also established strategic partnerships with several other companies and entities, including Singapore- based Capitaland Group, Malaysian Resources Corporation Berhad (MRCB), Sandakan Municipal Council, and Aseana Properties Ltd.
