Apologetic Bibliography By Ross Johnson 2-17-02

Introduction:

This resource list has been developed to give the reader an up to date listing of the best apologetic books available. The topics covered are general , specific groups, general , specific world religions, philosophical apologetical topics, and ethics.

This bibliography is merely an entry into the literary world of apologetics. In most cases this bibliography is limited to books published after 1980. Since the argumentation of the skeptics and cultists are constantly changing, it is imperative to give the best critiques and responses that are relevant to the ongoing debates. Also the most current material gives the most accurate information about the growth and trends of religious groups.

It should be noted that all these authors are Christians but not all of the books are without theological error nor are they necessarily confessionally Lutheran in every aspect. Both leading evangelical scholars and Lutherans wrote the suggested material. However, the main intention of this material is not to necessarily explain particular theological viewpoints but to rather critique the cults, occults, skeptics, aberrant theology, and world religions.

All of the topics are arranged by their level of difficulty. The introductory level is for any Christian who wants to learn more about a particular group. The intermediate level is at the university level, and the advanced is for scholars or graduate students who want in-depth knowledge on a particular area. As well, the most important books on the particular topics are in bold type. Additionally, the total number of pages of each book is typed at the end of each bibliographical entry.
