On Tuesday, February 17, nine students travelled to Jefferson City, Missouri, to participate in a Capitol Tour (led by Cottey alumna Megan Duffy ’07) and meet with women legislators during the Inaugural Reception honoring the Women Legislators of the 2015 Missouri General Assembly hosted by the Women’s Foundation of Greater Kansas City. The students were: Emily Cortes Caroline Guerin Haley Guerin Cecelia Rose-Mackey Beatrice Urrutia Kelsey McCauley Ashlyn Swait Abbey Johnson Hailey Johnson The event was also attended by Cottey alumnae Karel Lowery ’75 and Jennifer Lewis ’91, who enjoyed the opportunity to interact with women leaders and current students. This effort was part of the Cottey’s Going Places initiative and was led by Dr. Carol Clyde. Of her experience, student Caroline Guerin said this: “You could feel the power breathing through the marble walls. The legislators’ office doors were open and welcoming. After our tour, we attended the Women’s Foundation event. Between voting, representatives hurried in to welcome us to the Capital. We made sure to ask the question to the women legislatures, “What is the most difficult part of your job?” ... The Representatives, Senators, and occasional Chief of Staff were enthralled by our intelligence and leadership experience. As the party wound down we were whisked away to be introduced on the floor of the Senate by Senator David Pearce. When the floor yielded to the fine gentleman of the 21st district we all stood with excitement and pride in our personal developments in leadership. Dr. Clyde provided us with a fantastic experience. Visiting Jefferson City and Missouri’s state capital with my strong fellow classmates was one of the best days I have had at Cottey.” >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> KU Career Fair On Wednesday, February 11, Ms. Renee Hampton, interim coordinator for career and transfer planning/community liaison, and Rev. Erica Sigauke, director of spiritual life and campus diversity, led seven students to attend an overnight trip to the Kansas University Career Fair in Lawrence, Kansas. This was a great opportunity for the students seeking full-time jobs and summer internships to explore career opportunities within different companies, and a variety of industries. For several hours, the students interacted with business professionals, and experienced a great way to learn about job openings, research companies, and practice their interviewing and networking skills. That evening, the students and their supervisors dined at the Mad Greek, an Italian and Greek restaurant located in downtown Lawrence, before heading back to the hotel where they enjoyed a relaxing night in the hot tub. The next day, a few students returned to the KU campus in order to conduct an informational meeting regarding a possible internship opportunity for the summer. According to the students, they enjoyed the overall experience, and thought it to be very beneficial. Students in attendance were Heven Beyene, Marisa Guerrero, Chaymaa Bakhalek, Johanna Gonzalez-Virgen, Lorraine Chihora, Paige Ott, and Natalia Garrido-Recalde. Spiritual Life and Diversity On Saturday, February 14, Rev. Erica Sigauke led a group of eleven students on a trip to a Jewish temple, where they were able to participate in a Sabbath service. Following the service, the community met for social time while having lunch and that gave a chance for our students to mingle with some of the Jewish worshipers, and learn more about cultural beliefs, Jewish laws, and values. Students on the trip included Erica Pezant, Emily Cortes, Cecelia Rose-Mackey, Kristina Hutchinson, Jessica Starkey, Shalani Gentry, Christina Litherland, Wing Sum Ho, Tatenda Ndambakuwa, Fatu Jambawai, and Belinda Kemetse. The whole experience was very enriching. Wellness Program ART AFTER DARK! Come and paint a masterpiece with a friend, spouse, or significant other. Scrubs(series) - The Free Online Dictionary and Encyclopedia (TFODE) 11/21/13 7:56 AM Scrubs(series) - 2 results found: Wikipedia, twitter Pronunciation - English Wikipedia Scrubs (TV series) From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia (Redirected from Scrubs(series)) Scrubs is an American medical comedy-drama television series created by Bill Lawrence that aired from October 2, 2001 to March 17, 2010 on NBC and later ABC. The series follows the lives of employees at the fictional Sacred Heart teaching hospital. The title is a play on surgical scrubs and a term for a low-ranking person because at the beginning of the series, most of the main characters were medical interns. The series features fast-paced screenplay, slapstick, and surreal vignettes presented mostly as the daydreams of the central character, Dr. John "J.D." Dorian, who is played by Zach Braff. Actors starring alongside Braff in the first eight seasons included Sarah Chalke Donald Faison, Neil Flynn, Ken Jenkins, John C. McGinley, and Judy Reyes. The series has also featured multiple guest appearances by film actors, such as Brendan Fraser, Heather Graham, and Colin Farrell. In the ninth season, many new cast members were introduced and the show setting moved from a hospital to a medical school. Out of the original cast, only Braff, Faison and McGinley became regular cast members while the others, with the exception of Reyes, made guest appearances. Braff appeared in six episodes of the ninth season before departing. Kerry Bishé, Eliza Coupe, Dave Franco, and Mosley became series regulars with Bishé becoming the show's new narrator.

This transcript was exported on May 20, 2021 - view latest version here. John Boccacino: Hello, and welcome back to the Cuse Conversations podcast. My name is John Boccacino, the communications specialist in Syracuse University's office of alumni engagement. I earned my bachelor's degree in broadcast journalism from the S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications in 2003, and later received my executive master's degree in public administration from the Maxwell School of Citizenship and Public Affairs in 2020. You can find our podcast on all of your major podcasting platforms, including Apple Podcasts, Google Play, and Spotify. You can also find our podcast at alumni.syr.edu/cuseconversations and anchor.fm/cuseconversations. Kevin Michael R...: When I found out that people made a living doing animation voiceover, I was like, what really? I mean, growing up with your friends and messing around and goofing off and stuff like that, you're always doing characters. You're imitating commercials, or scenes from a movie. I figured wait, people get paid to do that? I just made it an effort to really just see what I can do to do it professionally. John Boccacino: Well folks, today on the podcast, it is my pleasure to bring on Kevin Michael Richardson. He is a 1988 graduate of the College of Visual and Performing Arts with a drama degree. He's a classically trained actor, but that is not what we're talking about with his career on the podcast today. He is a well-known voiceover talent. If you've listened to TV, if you've watched TV shows, chances are pretty good you've heard Richardson's deep voice as the voiceover star of more than 530 credits to his name, including classics like Family Guy, The Simpsons, American Dad, SpongeBob Squarepants, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.

Undoubtedly you’ve heard the story of several dogs recovered in Limington, Maine and the conditions they were living in. You probably know the story of the man Yellow who was living there and his death, which lead to their discovery. When the 19 beagles and one hound mix were dis- Black covered in the dilapidated house on Sokokis Ave. they were living in squalor.
