Students Visit Moore-Few Care Center & Medical Lodge On Saturday, February 21, 18 students from Cottey College volunteered their efforts participating in activities with the residents at Moore-Few Care Center and Medical Lodge. Activities ranged from playing games such as BINGO, Skip Bo, Wii Fitness, and Matching, as well as conversing with the residents. Once again, the residents at both facilities expressed their gratitude, and how much they appreciate seeing new faces, as well as how much they enjoy it when Cottey students came to visit. Students interns Chaymaa Bakhalek and Abbey Johnson planned and coordinated the volunteer events, with Renee Hampton and Rev. Erica Sigauke, serving as staff members for the events. Spiritual Life and Diversity Diversity matters at Cottey College and our students are fully involved in various diverse programs of which trips to other faith traditions is one of them. Students from various spiritual and non-spiritual backgrounds explore and grow through learning from each other and from other cultural values and beliefs. To continue empowering and supporting students in their educational gifts, Rev. Erica Sigauke drove a group of students to a Greek Orthodox Church in Kansas on Sunday, February 22, where they attended the morning service. The students got to experience the community’s conservative Christian worship style and had an opportunity to meet with the Father and had some of their questions addressed. Much was learned about the history of the Eastern Orthodox Church, its ancient spiritual beliefs, and how it differs from the Western Churches, both Catholic and Protestant. The students also appreciated some of the Greek architecture, especially the dome shape of the Temple which represented Christ coming down to his people, as well as the beautiful stained glass windows with Greek icons. Last week on February 9, Rev. Siguake took donated clothes and food to the Moss House, our local women’s shelter. We are very grateful to our community for supporting our Nevada women and children in crisis. Rev. Sigauke also held a diversity and Inclusion workshop on Friday, February 20. Activities and games were used as way to educate the community about promoting inclusive behavior and happy, peaceful relationships. Students from different cultural backgrounds, including our local students, were involved in the presentations. Some of them shared their cultural values, food, games, languages, music, religious beliefs, cultural chores, traditional dances, and native attire for special occasions. The whole workshop was very interactive and engaging. It helped to open space for dialoguing and to promote respect and appreciation of our unique differences. Diversity energizes our community and helps us grow from the inside out with love, empathy, and non-judgmental attitudes, and to remember that together we can help make the world a peaceful place to live. Wellness Program Healthy by Choice, Not by Chance Healthy by Choice, Not by Chance entries will be due to Karen Polon by Friday, February 27, at 5:00 p.m. to be eligible for the February drawing. Scrubs(series) - The Free Online Dictionary and Encyclopedia (TFODE) 11/21/13 7:56 AM Scrubs(series) - 2 results found: Wikipedia, twitter Pronunciation - English Wikipedia Scrubs (TV series) From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia (Redirected from Scrubs(series)) Scrubs is an American medical comedy-drama television series created by Bill Lawrence that aired from October 2, 2001 to March 17, 2010 on NBC and later ABC. The series follows the lives of employees at the fictional Sacred Heart teaching hospital. The title is a play on surgical scrubs and a term for a low-ranking person because at the beginning of the series, most of the main characters were medical interns. The series features fast-paced screenplay, slapstick, and surreal vignettes presented mostly as the daydreams of the central character, Dr. John "J.D." Dorian, who is played by Zach Braff. Actors starring alongside Braff in the first eight seasons included Sarah Chalke Donald Faison, Neil Flynn, Ken Jenkins, John C. McGinley, and Judy Reyes. The series has also featured multiple guest appearances by film actors, such as Brendan Fraser, Heather Graham, and Colin Farrell. In the ninth season, many new cast members were introduced and the show setting moved from a hospital to a medical school. Out of the original cast, only Braff, Faison and McGinley became regular cast members while the others, with the exception of Reyes, made guest appearances. Braff appeared in six episodes of the ninth season before departing. Kerry Bishé, Eliza Coupe, Dave Franco, and Mosley became series regulars with Bishé becoming the show's new narrator.

This transcript was exported on May 20, 2021 - view latest version here. John Boccacino: Hello, and welcome back to the Cuse Conversations podcast. My name is John Boccacino, the communications specialist in Syracuse University's office of alumni engagement. I earned my bachelor's degree in broadcast journalism from the S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications in 2003, and later received my executive master's degree in public administration from the Maxwell School of Citizenship and Public Affairs in 2020. You can find our podcast on all of your major podcasting platforms, including Apple Podcasts, Google Play, and Spotify. You can also find our podcast at alumni.syr.edu/cuseconversations and anchor.fm/cuseconversations. Kevin Michael R...: When I found out that people made a living doing animation voiceover, I was like, what really? I mean, growing up with your friends and messing around and goofing off and stuff like that, you're always doing characters. You're imitating commercials, or scenes from a movie. I figured wait, people get paid to do that? I just made it an effort to really just see what I can do to do it professionally. John Boccacino: Well folks, today on the podcast, it is my pleasure to bring on Kevin Michael Richardson. He is a 1988 graduate of the College of Visual and Performing Arts with a drama degree. He's a classically trained actor, but that is not what we're talking about with his career on the podcast today. He is a well-known voiceover talent. If you've listened to TV, if you've watched TV shows, chances are pretty good you've heard Richardson's deep voice as the voiceover star of more than 530 credits to his name, including classics like Family Guy, The Simpsons, American Dad, SpongeBob Squarepants, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.

KINNEY ATLANTIC NEWS STAFF WRITER or the past month, members of Beagles Of New England States (BONES) have been very busy. FThe non-profit rescue group has been hard at work, trying to save the lives of several beagles found living in unsafe conditions earlier this month in Maine. Trisha Craig, foster director and public relations/ Cyan marketing director for the volunteer group, said the group has been working to improve the health of the wayward animals before they can find them new Magenta homes. Undoubtedly you’ve heard the story of several dogs recovered in Limington, Maine and the conditions they were living in. You probably know the story of the man Yellow who was living there and his death, which lead to their discovery. When the 19 beagles and one hound mix were dis- Black covered in the dilapidated house on Sokokis Ave. they were living in squalor. The house was without running water and the pups were living amongst heaps of gar- bage, urine and excrement, both canine and human. Two dead dogs were also in the house. Rescue workers and firefighters wore protective clothing and breathing apparatus while removing the animals from the home.
