The effect of these measures will be to construct 7 pairs of flat top speed cushions in Matthews Drive between Maidenbower Lane and Pallingham Close. The overall length will be 3 metres with 650 mm ramps at either end and with ramp gradients of 1:10. Local concerns have been raised that the existing chicane traffic management features in Matthews Drive is creating congestion issues particularly at peak times. It is proposed to replace the existing chicanes with pairs of speed cushions. This will allow traffic to proceed in both directions whilst still maintaining effective speed management These amendments are proposed to facilitate the passage on the road of any class of traffic. Drawing Nos. 70059714-PD-001, 70059714-PD-002 & 70059714-PD-003 show the lengths of road that are the subject of the proposed amendments to the traffic calming measures.
