Day 1: London – Halifax Titan’s VIP door-to-door travel service collects you from home, for your journey to London Heathrow Airport and a direct, scheduled Air Canada flight to Halifax. Upon arrival, we transfer to the Lord Nelson Hotel & Suites (4T) or Delta Barrington (4T) for the first of two nights. Hotel in Halifax Day 2: Halifax Halifax, the capital of Nova Scotia, is steeped in seafaring history and tradition. We enjoy an orientation tour to familiarise ourselves with the city, including a visit to Citadel National Historic Site to explore the history of the star-shaped fortress and the British and Canadian soldiers stationed here. The remainder of the day is at leisure to enjoy the vibrant community life of Halifax. Hotel in Halifax Day 3: Halifax – Chester Tracing the rugged coastline of Nova Scotia southwards, we make stops at the tiny fishing village of Peggy’s Cove and Lunenburg, home of the Bluenose II, a fishing schooner that has become symbolic and synonymous with Nova Scotia. We stay the night at the Atlantica Oak Island Resort and Conference Centre (4T), minutes from Chester and Mahone Bay. Atlantica Oak Island Resort and Conference Centre Day 4: Chester – Digby The Kejimkujik Scenic Drive unites the coastlines of Nova Scotia, from the granite rocks of the Atlantic south shore, through the lush Annapolis Valley to the fishing ports of the Bay of Fundy. We stop at the floral wonderland of Annapolis Royal Gardens, where over 400 years of history are displayed through gardening methods and designs that include hundreds of roses. Our hotel is the Digby Pines Golf Resort and Spa (4T) or Coastal Kingfisher Inn (3T). Digby Pines Golf Resort and Spa or Coastal Kingfisher Inn Day 5: Digby - Saint John We catch the ferry across from Digby to the City of Saint John. Sitting along the Bay of Fundy, this is Canada’s oldest incorporated city, and Saint John is filled with unique architecture, vibrant restaurants, and historic sights. Our hotel is the Hilton Saint John (4T). Hilton Saint John Day 6: Saint John – Fredericton Our scenic journey continues to Fredericton, capital of New Brunswick, by way of the New Brunswick Museum for a remarkable introduction to the area’s rich cultural and natural history. A guided tour ensures you don’t miss any highlights. Our hotel for the night is the Delta Fredericton (4T). Delta Fredericton or Crowne Plaza Lord Beaverbrook Day 7: Fredericton – Shediac Back to the coast this morning and Hopewell Cape, where we find a natural phenomenon and an icon of New Brunswick - Hopewell Rocks carved from the coastline by the powerful Bay of Fundy tides. Tide times permitting, there is even the opportunity to walk on the ocean floor. We proceed to Shediac later, for two nights at the Hotel Shediac (3T). This evening we have a sunset lobster cruise with dinner. Hotel Shediac Day 8: Ste-Anne-de-Kent The Acadians are the descendants of Maritime Canada’s 17th century French colonists, and we discover a little about their heritage and lifestyle on an excursion to the Olivier Soapery and take lunch at Bouctouche’s Le Pays de la Sagouine. Created from internationally-renowned Acadian novelist Antonine Maillet, the fictional island ‘Le Pays’ is where Acadians celebrate and characters speak a colourful language rooted in Acadian culture. Hotel Shediac Day 9: Shediac - Cavendish – Charlottetown Crossing the Confederation Bridge eastwards, we reach Prince Edward Island, Canada’s smallest province. Known as the ‘million acre farm’, this delightful island is idyllically rural. Our exploration of the island begins at Cavendish where we visit Green Gables Heritage Place where the author of Anne of Green Gables, Lucy Maud Montgomery was inspired to write many novels. We spend two nights in the island’s charming Victorian capital, at the Charlottetown Inn (3T). Charlottetown Inn Day 10: Charlottetown (Prince Edward Island) Today you will have time to explore Charlottetown, the historical island’s vibrant seaside capital city, with a network of walking trails and waterside boardwalks, craft and speciality shops to discover, as well as opportunities to delve deeper into its past. Charlottetown Inn Day 11: Charlottetown – Baddeck Bidding farewell to Prince Edward Island, we make the short journey to the Wood Islands ferry port, and cross to Pictou, Nova Scotia. From there, we traverse the Canso Causeway, and follow the sublimely scenic Cabot Trail to Cape Breton Island and the town of Baddeck, where the scientist and inventor Alexander Graham Bell built his summer house. We visit the museum established in his honour and relax for the night at the Silver Dart Lodge (3T). Silver Dart Lodge Day 12: Baddeck – Ingonish The Cabot Trail continues north and we follow it to the shores of the Atlantic and a coastline likened to that of Scotland. Rounding the top of the island, we drive through the Cape Breton Highlands National Park, a spectacular wilderness route, to rural Ingonish, where we spend a night at Keltic Lodge Resort & Spa (4T). Keltic Lodge Resort & Spa Day 13: Ingonish - Antigonish/Liscomb Mills The Ceilidh Trail is another bewitchingly scenic drive, reflecting much of Cape Breton’s Scottish heritage. We re-cross the Canso Causeway to Nova Scotia and the day’s final destination. We check- in to the Maritimes Inn (4T) in Antigonish, a small town with a Gaelic past; or Liscombe Lodge Resort (4T) in Liscomb Mills, deep in the forests of Nova Scotia. Maritimes Inn or Liscombe Lodge Resort Day 14: Liscomb Mills/Antigonish - Halifax - In flight We visit Sherbrooke Historic Village, a working recreation of a 100-year-old shipbuilding and lumbering community, before we return to Halifax along the eastern shore of Nova Scotia, and transfer to the airport for a direct, scheduled Air Canada flight to London. In flight Day 15: London Arrival at London Heathrow where you will be met and guided to your Titan vehicle, for the journey home. Arrive Home .

I. Colombia Free Trade Agreement – Peter Riggs discussed the politics, pros and cons of the Colombia FTA. (See Attachment). Mr. Riggs thought that the president would send the bill to Congress sometime in March, however, he felt that there was not much support for the agreement. Kay Wilkie gave a brief history of IGPAC, her role in the IGPAC. She also spoke about the Antigua internet-gambling case. Ms. Wilkie also gave her view on the agreement, that the majority of the provisions in the Colombia FTA were similar to NAFTA – not a fair agreement. She suggested that states should engage in the free trade policy process, think proactively about how states can build capacity to influence federal policy. II. Action to be taken: The Commission agreed to delay their decision and vote on the Colombia FTA until they had an opportunity to hear testimony from Maine citizens at the public hearing on February 21st, 2008. It was agreed that the commission would meet after the public hearing to discuss and vote on what action should be taken – whether to send a letter with the commission’s and Maine citizen concerns to the Maine delegates and Governor Baldacci.

The final Agreement to Conduct a Regional Assessment of Offshore Oil and Gas Exploratory Drilling East of Newfoundland and Labrador (hereafter referred to as “the Agreement”) was signed on April 15, 2019 between Her Majesty the Queen in Right of Canada as represented by the federal Ministers of the Environment and Natural Resources and Her Majesty the Queen in Right of Newfoundland and Labrador, as represented by the provincial Ministers of Natural Resources and Intergovernmental and Indigenous Affairs. On the same date, a joint committee was established between the Governments of Canada and Newfoundland and Labrador. The roles of the Committee, as well as the Task Team and the Technical Advisory Group are described in the Agreement. The RA is intended as a Regional Study pursuant to the Canadian Environmental Assessment Act (CEAA 2012) and will assess the potential effects of existing or future physical activities carried out in the Study Area (see Figure 1) which contains multiple current and proposed oil and gas exploration and production activities.     ACTIONS AND FUTURE PLANS ORGANIZATION Atlantica Centre for Energy OVERVIEW The Atlantica Centre for Energy is dedicated to increasing energy literacy for community leaders and stakeholders. The Centre includes leading energy professionals, national and international organizations in New Brunswick, Nova Scotia, Newfoundland & Labrador, Ontario, Alberta, and Prince Edward Island. The Centre serves as a bridge between organizations operating in the energy sector and the community to help realize opportunities associated with energy resources in Atlantic Canada. It provides a meeting ground for government, the education and research sectors, and the community at large to foster partnerships and engage in energy-related issues. During our 15-year history, we have investigated numerous energy opportunities that had the potential to be “game-changers” for the region, as well as nationally. It is our opinion after studying the SMR potential over the past two years, that the development of advanced SMR technology in New Brunswick has as much potential as any we have studied in the past. The opportunity is significant for New Brunswick, the Maritime region, and has pan-Canadian positive impacts. Our vision for SMR development in Canada: The Canadian Nuclear Utilities have identified a concurrent three-stream approach for the development and deployment of SMR technology as part of a pan-Canadian approach. These three streams are being developed in parallel with equal priority to address the various Pan Canadian needs and to bring benefits to all of Canada and the world. We are specifically supportive of NRCan supplying funding to support the advanced Generation-4 SMRs being developed in New Brunswick, which brings additional benefits of SMR to Canada and the rest of the world.

Once protections were enacted, the population started to rebound. Here, we describe the recolonization and recovery of gray seals in the United States, focusing on the re-establishment of pupping sites. We fit individual generalized linear models to various time series (1988–2019) to estimate rates of increase in observed pup counts at four of the more data-rich sites. Annual rate of increase at individual sites ranged from −0.2% (95% CI: −2.3–1.9%) to 26.3% (95% CI: 21.6–31.4%). The increase in sites and number of pups born in the United States is driven by population growth and immigration from Canadian colonies and is part of a larger recovery of the Northwest Atlantic population.

The Institute was founded by a group of Atlantic Canadians to broaden the debate about the realistic options available to build our economy. AIMS was incorporated as a non-profit corporation under Part II of the Canada Corporations Act and was granted charitable registration by Revenue Canada as of October 3, 1994; it recently received US charitable recognition under 501(c)(3) effective the same date. Roberts Lodge That Gives offers accommodations to patients and their families living more than 50 kilometers away from the cancer treatment centre in Halifax. Nova Scotia cancer patients stay free of charge and meals are provided at no cost. There is no charge for a parent or a guardian staying with a child or an escort required by a transplant patient. Family members and/or support persons can stay for $85.00 per night. This fee covers the cost of the room and three meals per day. If booking for the first time at the Lodge That Gives, a referral must be sent to the Lodge from a Booking Clerk at the QEII Cancer Care Program, a Family Physician, an Oncologist or a Cancer Patient Navigator.

The Institute was founded by a group of Atlantic Canadians to broaden the debate about the realistic options available to build our economy. AIMS was incorporated as a non-profit corporation under Part II of the Canada Corporations Act and was granted charitable registration by Revenue Canada as of October 3, 1994; it recently received US charitable recognition under 501(c)(3) effective the same date.
