Gewürztraminer, Russian River The Winemaking: After crushing and de-stemming the hand-harvested grapes, this juice was cold-fermented slowly in stainless steel tanks to insure the fresh, fruit-forward flavors and inherent spicy and floral aromas remained prominent.
The Wine: Our golden straw colored Gewürztraminer delivers vibrant aromas of honeydew and grapefruit that remind us of floral tropics. On the palate an elegant mix of melon and soft green apple flavors pair up with faint notes of lemon drop candy and a long ruby-red grapefruit finish that is the perfect compliment to the slightest note of sweetness. This is a wine to pair with spicy Asian cuisine, grilled sausages, or just a warm summer afternoon.
Chardonnay, Russian River The Winemaking: After crushing and de-stemming immediately to press, the Chardonnay juice is fermented in French oak barrels. While in barrel, the wine goes through a malolactic fermentation that naturally creates a light buttery flavor and smooth mouth feel. While on its lees the wine is hand stirred in barrel once a month, and topped twice a month for eight months. This process develops and additional complexity of flavors and aromas.
The Wine: Our straw colored Chardonnay leads off with a refreshing bouquet of pineapple and honey, which is closely followed by a citrus and tropical mouth. A slight minerality compliments the crisp green apple finish. Pair this Chardonnay with grilled chicken and seafood, or with a garlic and olive oil pasta.
Pinot Noir, Russian River The Winemaking: We use old world techniques to make our Pinot Noir in small batches and "punch-down" the fruit by hand up to three times a day. After native yeast fermentation the wine is aged in French oak barrels for up to 11 months to achieve optimum balance and complexity. We use approximately 25% new French oak for our Pinot Noir program, while the remaining barrels are neutral.
The Wine: Our Pinot Noir starts with a deep ruby red color, followed by aromas of spicy strawberry and raspberry. The light berry flavor accented with vanilla leads to a crisp finish of lingering cherry. This multi-layered Pinot is lovely and rich; able to be enjoyed with a meal or on its own.
Zinfandel, Russian River The Winemaking: We ferment our Zinfandel on the skins to extract the dark violet color and express the rich qualities this fruit has to offer. After pressing, the wine is aged in American Oak barrels for approximately 16 months. Each barrel is then selected individually by the winemaking team to create the finest Zin for the 2008 vintage.
The Wine: This deep violet-purple Zinfandel displays aromas of raspberry, cinnamon, and toasted oak spice. The bouquet is complemented by juicy red berry, cocoa, and blueberry flavor with a long black-cherry finish. This multilayered and complex wine is rich and full, making it a wonderful compliment to anything off the grill.
Station Ten - Zinfandel Blend, Russian River The Winemaking: With Station 10 we envisioned a bold, fruit forward, well-structured Zinfandel blend that would pair well with a myriad of dishes. To achieve this we picked grapes from our oldest Zinfandel vines and a small amount of old vine Carignane and Alicante Bouschet from the same vineyard. These were combined with our Petite Syrah to enhance the berry and spice profile of the blend. The varietals were aged separately in European and American oak for over a year before blending and bottling.
The Wine: Our deep ruby pomegranate colored Zin blend displays aromas of vanilla spice, black-berry cobbler, raspberry jam and plum with a hint of leather that lead to spicy flavors of mixed berries and vanilla. This wine has good acidity in the mid palate with a nice touch of oak and tannins in the long raspberry and strawberry finish. Try this versatile Zinfandel blend with any red meat on the grill or tomato heavy pasta.
The Tillerman - Cabernet Blend The Winemaking: With “The Tillerman” we imagined a boldly flavored, balanced, and well- structured red wine. To achieve this we evaluated various lots and varietals produced from the Los Amigos Ranch. The vintage yielded ripe, richly flavored Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, and Sangiovese. We decided to blend these grapes with our Merlot to soften the palate. The varietals were fermented and aged separately in European and American Oak for a minimum of one year before blending and bottling.
The Wine: The Tillerman is a dark ruby in color, possessing aromas of ripe currants and cherries with a hint of cedar and rose petals. Bright flavors of raspberry, cherry- tobacco and nice oak combined with a strong bouquet allow this blend to show well through rich meals, yet not overpower lighter dish.
Merlot, Russian River The Winemaking: Our hand-picked Merlot is gently de-stemmed and crushed to both closed and open-top fomenters. When the color, flavors and tannins are fully extracted from the skins, the wine is aged for a minimum of 17 months in both European and American oak. This Merlot is combined with 5% Cabernet Sauvignon from our adjoining vineyards to bring added structure and complexity.
The Wine: Dense ripe berry notes highlight the flavor in this deeply rich crimson Merlot. A full mouth of blackberry and chocolate-raspberry with hints of spice, plum and tobacco lead to a lingering black cherry finish. Enjoy this Merlot with a number of dishes, including leg of lamb or any pasta with a tomato sauce.
Cabernet Sauvignon, Russian River The Winemaking: Our single vineyard Cabernet is aged for up to 17 months in a combination of French and American oak. The wine contains approximately 5% of Merlot from the same Los Amigos ranch to help soften this exquisite Cabernet.
The Wine: Deep velvet maroon in color, our Cabernet exhibits a myriad of aromas including black cherry, cloves, and pepper. A vibrant mouth feel of currants, spicy mixed berries is followed by a supple and smooth strawberry and cocoa finish. Ready to enjoy now, or keep it in the cellar to share later!
