David Ligare described his intentions in the following terms: “The old bridge has been painted countless times by artists who have Notre Dame/Georgia Tech/Miami/Judson/Yale/College of Charleston/The ICAA utilized every style and manner of painting imaginable. I was not interested in making yet another ‘new’ view of it.
