T h e maximum flood extent is a modelling derived from th e observed flood extent (flood w aters and traces visible on Earth O bservation data acquired during th e flood event) and th e reference Digital Surface Model, th e IGN BD Alti® (5m). T h e w ater depth s h ave been calculated th anks to th e h eigh t difference betw een w ater surface of th e maximum flood extent and th e bottom values of th e riverbed indicated in th e DSM. Daily w ater h eigh ts and w ater flow s taken at different river gauges are also represented in h ydrograph s in th e map. T h e th ematic accuracy of th is product is 80% or better, based on internal validation procedures. T h e estimated geometric accuracy of th is product is 0.5 m, from native positional accuracy of th e background satellite image. Maximum flood extent and w ater depth information are simulated products. T h erefore, th eir quality depends on th e accuracy of th e input data.
