On Thursday, April 5, LACCD is hosting the 2nd Annual Sexual Assault Awareness Month Symposium at the ESC Board Room from 8 – 1 p.m. Brittany Grice is the new Director for the Office of Equity, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI). Her former position was at the California State University, Channel Islands (CSUCI), where she served as the Senior Director of Equity and Inclusion. Prior to CSUCI, Ms. Grice held several key leadership positions, including Human Resources Manager for Equal Opportunity at California State University, Fresno. Ms. Grice received her Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and History from the University of Hawai’i at Mānoa and her Juris Doctor from the University of Notre Dame. Congratulations to ELAC Nursing Instructor Brenda Chan, who was been selected as one of four statewide winners of the 2018 Gerald Hayward Award, named for the former statewide Chancellor. The award honors outstanding community college faculty for excellence teaching and in professional activities, and have demonstrated commitment to their students, profession and college. A special thanks to LACCD’s first LA Marathon Team who participated in the LA Marathon 5K on Saturday, March 17 and the LA Marathon on Sunday, March 18.
