Eaton & Alsop and Newton Grange Parish Statement (draft) Eaton and Alsop parish is located approximately 1.25 miles northwest of Parwich. Eaton and Alsop parish has one settlement, Alsop-en-le-Dale, a farming settlement which dates back to the bronze and now comprises of two large farms, a few residential Photo needed here properties and a church. It is a popular location for walkers as it is on the Tissington Trail. Eaton & Alsop parish is located within the limestone hills and slopes plateau pastures of the White Peak as described within the Peak District Landscape Characteristic Assessment (LSAP 2009). Newton Grange parish is located to the south of Eaton and Alsop parish. The parish is characterised by scattered farmsteads and borders Dove Dale to the west, a popular walking destination. Newton Grange parish is characterised by village farmlands on shale ridges in the Derbyshire Peak Fringe, as described within the LSAP 2009.
