taal: Engels 2 Marktinformatie Niettegenstaande dat Denemarken slechts een bevolking telt van 5,65 miljoen inwoners, zijn er in 2015 zodanig veel supermarkten en grootwarenhuizen, dat zij een bevolking van 15 miljoen mensen zouden kunnen voorzien van producten. Bovendien werd op 1 oktober 2012 de sluitingswet afgeschaft, waardoor de supermarkten, grootwarenhuizen en discounters op vrijwel alle zondagen open kunnen zijn. Hierdoor is de winst van de supermarkten/winkels onder zware druk gekomen. De omzet van de winkels, die vroeger op zondag open mochten zijn, is vooral verplaatst naar de sterke discountketens Netto, Rema1000 en Lidl. Bovendien hebben de grote ketens van deze gelegenheid gebruik gemaakt om hun supermarkten langer open te houden. In landdistricten is het aantal supermarkten, grootwarenhuizen en kiosken echter fel gereduceerd. Eind 2014 waren er in Denemarken 2.987 winkels die voornamelijk voeding en andere dagelijkse producten verkochten. 1.593 van deze winkels waren discounters met een redelijk beperkt assortiment van ca. 2500 producten. Volgens cijfers van Retail Institute Scandinavia verkochten deze winkels voor 110 miljard DKK in 2014. Dit is een lichte daling in verhouding tot 2013, maar dit is te wijten aan het feit dat de prijzen in 2014 t.o.v. 2013 een klein beetje gedaald zijn. De Deense consumptie is vrijwel niet gewijzigd. De grote stijging van het aantal discounters betekent ook dat een groter gedeelte van de dagelijkse aankopen bij discounters gebeurt. Volgens recente cijfers was het marktaandeel van de discounters in 2014 40,50% vergeleken met 29,3% vóór de financiële crisis in 2008. Deze vooruitgang gebeurt ten koste van bv. supermarkten, die vroeger een dominante positie hadden op de Deense retailmarkt. Ze zijn niet alleen in aantal verminderd, maar hebben ook een kleinere omzet. De grootwarenhuizen en supermarkten zijn over het algemeen groter dan de discounters. Zij worden winkels met een volledig assortiment genoemd, omdat ze veel meer verschillende producten verkopen dan de discounters (min. 5000 verschillende). Het verschil in assortiment tussen discounters en supermarkten is wel kleiner geworden. Enerzijds introduceren Deense discounters meer en meer biologische voedingswaren, producten van goede kwaliteit, alsook producten van kleinere producenten aan hogere prijzen in hun winkels. Anderzijds lanceren supermarkten een reeks producten aan lagere prijzen. Dit betekent dus dat de concurrentie fel toegenomen is. De afgelopen jaren is het aantal kleinere supermarkten en winkels verminderd. Na de afschaffing van de sluitingswet werden ook aanzienlijk meer kiosken gesloten. Food Retail Denemarken | December 2015 3 3 Marktstructuur In 2015 zijn de grote spelers in de Deense retail nog steeds COOP Danmark (37,7%) en Dansk Supermarked (32,2%). Het is vooral dankzij de groei van hun discountketens dat zij hun marktaandeel behouden. Dansk Supermarked heeft de grootste discountketen in Denemarken, nl. NETTO (14,4%). COOP Danmark heeft de laatste jaren haar discountketen FAKTA uitgebouwd, waardoor de keten nu een marktaandeel van 9,8% heeft en de op één na grootste keten is binnen de COOP-groep. Midden 2015 was er weliswaar een stilstand te zien in de groei van het aantal discountwinkels op de Deense retailmarkt. Tot nu toe hebben de buitenlandse ketens een relatief kleine rol gespeeld in de Deense retail. In 2013 werd het Noorse NorgesGruppen de grootste aandeelhouder van het Dagrofa-koncern. Dagrofa is de derde grootste speler in de Deense retail met een marktaandeel van ca. 15%. Hun marktaandeel is de afgelopen jaren fel gedaald, omdat vele “købmænd” (eigenaars van kleinere zelfstandige supermarkten) hun supermarkten ofwel gesloten of verkocht hebben. Men verwacht dat de aanwezigheid van NorgesGruppen meer concurrentie zal betekenen voor COOP Danmark en Dansk Supermarked. Diese Problemstellung habe ich besonders interessant gefunden, da sowohl Aldi als auch Lidl eigentlich eine Kapazität haben, die unmittelbar wesentlich größere Marktanteile auf dem dänischen Markt hätte ergeben sollen. Auf Grundlage von Theorien über Internationalisierung und Konsumentenverhalten wird deshalb untersucht, in wieweit diese beiden Gebiete den begrenzten Erfolg erklären können. Der erste Teil der Diplomarbeit beschäftigt sich mit der theoretischen Diskussion über die Internationalisierungsstrategie und die Verhältnisse des Konsumentenverhaltens sowie auch die kulturellen Bedingungen, die Bedeutung für den Einstieg in einen fremden Markt haben. Der theoretische Diskurs gründet vorwiegend auf empiristischen Forschungsartikeln innerhalb der erwähnten Gebiete und auf Erforschungen über unterschiedliche Einzelhändler. Kontor/initialer: 3.1/CDOC Sagsnr.: 2887 Dato: 8. december 2009 Udfasning af polycarbonat sutteflasker – status I maj 2009 var Fødevareministeriet i dialog med erhvervet og detailhandlen for at opfordre til en frivillig udfasning af polycarbonat sutteflasker. Det har ført til, at de danske brancheorganisationer for grossist- og detailhandlen har anbefalet sine medlemmer at stoppe indkøb af polycarbonat sutteflasker. Flere af de store aktører (COOP, De Samvirkende Købmænd og Dansk Supermarked) havde allerede i maj 2009 taget beslutningen om at ophøre med indkøb af bisphenol A-holdige sutteflasker, og flere af de store dagligvarebutikker har således allerede i nogen tid ikke haft bisphenol A-holdige flasker på hylderne. Størstedelen af dagligvare- og specialbutikker har eller vil inden for de næste måneder have hylder uden polycarbonat sutteflasker. Status for de enkelte kæder og butikker fremgår nedenfor. Dansk Erhverv oplyser, at listen opfatter omkring 95 % af det danske marked for sutteflasker. COOP DK (Kvickly, Super Brugsen og Dagli Brugsen): Har ikke indkøbt polycarbonat sutteflasker siden januar 2009. Der kan være rester tilbage i hand- len, men det vil kun være i de allermindste butikker. Dansk Supermarked A/S (Føtex, Bilka, Netto, Salling): Polycarbonat sutteflasker er udfaset. Apotekerforeningen: Grossister har ikke længere polycarbonat sutteflasker i sortimentet, så udfasningen er godt i gang fra apotekerne. Consumption of energy-dense snack foods and soft drinks are implicated as contributing to weight gain, however little is known about how the availability of these items within supermarkets varies internationally. This study assessed variations in the display of snack foods and soft drinks within a sample of supermarkets across eight countries. Methods: Within-store audits were used to evaluate and compare the availability of potato chips (crisps), chocolate, confectionery and soft drinks. Displays measured included shelf length and the proportion of checkouts and end-of-aisle displays containing these products. Audits were conducted in a convenience sample of 170 supermarkets across eight developed nations (Australia, Canada, Denmark, Netherlands, New Zealand, Sweden, United Kingdom (UK), and United States of America (US)). Results: The mean total aisle length of snack foods (adjusted for store size) was greatest in supermarkets from the UK (56.4 m) and lowest in New Zealand (21.7 m). When assessed by individual item, the greatest aisle length devoted to chips, chocolate and confectionery was found in UK supermarkets while the greatest aisle length dedicated to soft drinks was in Australian supermarkets.

Independent grocers accounted for only 2% of the total grocery retailing value sales. Coop Danmark led sales of grocery retailers with a current value share of 28% in 2011, with its share having increased in recent years, a trend that continued in 2011. Its strategy is to expand its product ranges in its nationwide hypermarket, supermarket and discounter chains. Aiming to satisfy the increasingly polarised consumer demand for both premium and economy products, the company is investing heavily in developing strong private label ranges within all price segments, as well as organic products and in-store speciality departments, such as bakery, meat, delicatessen, fruit and vegetables and wine. This thesis investigates how companies work with initiatives to reduce the adverse effects from plastic pollution. More specifically, the study addresses to what extent companies work with these initiatives and explore the factors that influence them. Companies show a willingness to implement actions and are exposed to pressure from various stakeholders, while simultaneously navigating in an uncertain field caused by a current legislative gap. With an outset in existing literature on corporate social responsibility and supply chain management, an empirical study of six representative companies with introduced and implemented actions to deal with plastic pollution has been conducted. The study concludes that the extent to which the companies have addressed plastic pollution differ. It is shown that some companies have implemented a selected number of initiatives, others have developed a specific plastic or packaging strategy outlining future actions to be implemented, whereas for one company, the production of recycled plastic constitutes the actual business model. The thesis further concludes that companies are affected by both internal and external factors when looking into ways to address plastic pollution. Some of these factors are more company-specific.
