JOURNALIST PAOLA RAMOS JOINS VICE NEWS AS CORRESPONDENT Ramos to join VICE News team expanding its coverage on immigration, America’s border crisis, and Latinx communities December 3, 2019 - Brooklyn, NY -- It was announced today by Jesse Angelo, President, Global News and Entertainment, VICE Media Group, that journalist Paola Ramos will join VICE News as a correspondent starting this week. Ramos joins VICE as the company continues to expand its award-winning news division and political coverage. She will work across the newsroom’s myriad platforms including long-form content, with the upcoming Showtime documentary series ‘VICE’ slated to premiere in spring 2020 and VICE News’ flagship daily broadcast, ‘VICE News Tonight,’ which will relaunch on VICE’s TV channel early next year. The newscast recently won five News & Documentary Emmy® Awards and remains the most highly-awarded nightly newscast for a second year in a row. “Paola is an extraordinary talent and has done some incredible reporting in her career. The depth of her coverage on the Latinx community goes beyond the typical stories of immigration and the crisis at the border, and taps into underrepresented issues that matter to Millenial and Gen Z viewers,” said Angelo. “She connects with audiences in ways that make her exactly the type of person we want to tell VICE News stories.” “I'm thrilled to join VICE News,” said Ramos. “2020 will go down in history as one of the most consequential years of our lifetime and I cannot think of a better platform to inspire and mobilize young people across the country. I look forward to telling stories that impact our generation, to uncovering untold truths and to shedding light on the voices that are on the frontlines of change." Ramos has previously written for VICE.com and hosted the GLAAD-nominated VICE digital video series Latin-X, which covered underreported stories about the Latinx community from the HIV crisis on the Texas-Mexico border, to the meth epidemic in Fresno and the experiences of trans asylum seekers. She is a regular contributor on the Telemundo Network and MSNBC. Ramos was the former Deputy Director of Hispanic Media for Hillary Clinton, as well as a former political appointee in the Obama White House. She received her B.A. from Barnard College, Columbia University and her Master of Public Policy from Harvard University’s Kennedy School. Ramos will report into Subrata De, Senior Executive Producer, Long Form, VICE News. ABOUT VICE MEDIA GROUP VICE Media Group is the world’s largest independent youth media company.
