February 6, 2020 - Brooklyn, New York - Today, VICE TV, the Emmy® Award-winning ​ international television network from Group, announced that its flagship nightly news show will premiere on Wednesday, March 4 at 8PM ET/PT in a ​ ​ ​ new hour-long live format. ​

From the streets of Charlottesville to the frontlines of Iraq, VICE News Tonight has been home to critically-acclaimed domestic and international journalism that has fundamentally disrupted the status quo for what a nightly newscast should look like, through groundbreaking reports and special episodes that have ignited the national conversation. The show has earned 33 News & Documentary Emmy® Award nominations and 10 wins in total, making it the most-awarded newscast for the second year in a row.

The newscast, which will air live, Monday through Thursday, will serve as an antidote to the never-ending deluge of the daily news cycle. Combining in-studio interviews and VICE News’ on-the-ground signature field packages, the show will provide razor-sharp context and color beyond the headlines. With the youngest audience in hard news, VICE News Tonight has earned the trust of a new generation of news consumers and will continue to be the essential destination for Millennial and Gen Z viewers who want to understand the changing world around them.

VICE News has named TV news veteran Nikki Egan as the show’s Executive Producer. ​ Egan, an Emmy® Award-winning television news executive with a career spanning over 25 years, has produced and developed thousands of hours of hard-hitting broadcast and cable news television programming. Prior to VICE, she was at MSNBC where she spent 17 years working across primetime and dayside programs, spearheading breaking news and special ​ coverage through some of the nation’s defining moments.

The show will feature VICE News’ diverse team of award-winning correspondents including Krishna Andavolu, Michael Anthony Adams, Charlet Duboc, Roberto Ferdman, Hind Hassan, Josh Hersh, Liz Landers, Chris Moody, Michael Moynihan, David Noriega, Paola Ramos, Alzo Slade, Dexter Thomas, Seb Walker, and , harnessing the news capabilities of its bureaus in Brooklyn, Washington, D.C, , and .

In the ramp up to the show’s launch, VICE News continues to bolster its growing reporting and production team with over 20 new hires including: ​ ​

● Todd Zwillich as DC Deputy Bureau Chief. Todd currently hosts 1A on NPR. Before that he was host of The Takeaway public radio program from WNYC, where he also spent several years as Washington Correspondent.

● Emily Drew as Senior Broadcast Producer for VICE News Tonight. She previously worked ​ ​ at MSNBC, and . Emily is an Emmy® Award-winning producer with extensive experience in the field, in the control room, and package producing.

● Jego Armstrong as Senior Producer, working on both quick-turn news and longer formats. ​ ​ He previously led editorial teams across TV and digital and was most recently at Brut Media, AJ+, and Bloomberg.

● Sarah Svoboda as Producer. She previously worked for the BBC in Washington, DC where ​ she was a White House producer and show producer for BBC World News America. Sarah did stints at Bloomberg and PBS NewsHour prior to that.

● Jana Lerner as Field Producer. She previously worked at CNN, HLN, and NBC, with ​ ​ experience on quick turn and longer form pieces, booking guests, and producing live in-studio segments.

● Jon Eiseman will be joining VICE News as Director of Audience Development. Jon joins ​ the team from G/O Media (formerly known as Gizmodo Media Group) where he was responsible for all social teams and led audience strategy. His prior experience includes Fusion and .

VICE News Tonight is available on VICE TV via satellite, cable, and iOS and Android authenticated apps. The show will air internationally in the UK, Australia, New Zealand, France, Belgium, Netherlands and Israel.
