Antje Wessels USA 2018, Regie: Bryan Singer (Dexter Fletcher), Darsteller: Rami Malek, Joseph Mazzello, Lucy Boynton, Mike Myers, Gwilym Lee, Tom Hollander, Länge: 110 Minuten, frei ab 6 Jahren .

  • Queen Hitting the Big Screens
Queen Hitting the Big Screens By: Kierra Setting The world is excited to see their favorite Rock band of all time hit the big screens. Even after nearly 27 years since their passionate lead singer Freddie Mercury passed away, people still enjoy the beautifully crafted songs by Queen. For this reason, 20th Century is releasing a movie as a tribute to the rock and roll band. Everyone knows “Bohemian Rhapsody,” but Queen was so much more than that. The band “Queen” was a rock and roll band that consisted of the talented lead singer Freddie Mercury, the drummer Roger Taylor, lead guitarist Brian May, and bass guitarist John Deacon. They all came together to form the band in 1970. The popular band wrote some of the most famous rock songs such as: “ Somebody to Love”, “ We Will Rock You”, “Another One Bites the Dust” and of course the well known “Bohemian Rhapsody.” Freddie Mercury tragically passed away due to AIDs in 1991 and John Deacon passed away in 1997. Although those members are gone, the band still continues to go on tour in Las Vegas today. Adam Lambert is subbing as the lead singer. Along with Adam, the original band members Brian May and Roger Taylor still perform. As of now, the movie will be titled Bohemian Rhapsody in honor of a song written by Freddie Mercury, which became the starting point of the band; their most popular and well-known song. The film will be released on November 2, 2018. The filming for the movie took place in London.

  • Stanley Kubrick: Producers and Production Companies
View metadata, citation and similar papers at core.ac.uk brought to you by CORE provided by De Montfort University Open Research Archive Stanley Kubrick: Producers and Production Companies Thesis submitted by James Fenwick In partial fulfilment of the requirements for the award of Doctor of Philosophy De Montfort University, September 2017 1 Abstract This doctoral thesis examines filmmaker Stanley Kubrick’s role as a producer and the impact of the industrial contexts upon the role and his independent production companies. The thesis represents a significant intervention into the understanding of the much-misunderstood role of the producer by exploring how business, management, working relationships and financial contexts influenced Kubrick’s methods as a producer. The thesis also shows how Kubrick contributed to the transformation of industrial practices and the role of the producer in Hollywood, particularly in areas of legal authority, promotion and publicity, and distribution. The thesis also assesses the influence and impact of Kubrick’s methods of producing and the structure of his production companies in the shaping of his own reputation and brand of cinema. The thesis takes a case study approach across four distinct phases of Kubrick’s career. The first is Kubrick’s early years as an independent filmmaker, in which he made two privately funded feature films (1951-1955). The second will be an exploration of the Harris-Kubrick Pictures Corporation and its affiliation with Kirk Douglas’ Bryna Productions (1956-1962). Thirdly, the research will examine Kubrick’s formation of Hawk Films and Polaris Productions in the 1960s (1962-1968), with a deep focus on the latter and the vital role of vice-president of the company.

  • Jurassic Park
Jurassic Park By Gerri Pare Catholic News Service NEW YORK – Moviegoers are in for some extreme excitement if they venture within the terrifying boundaries of “Jurassic Park” (Universal), now rereleased with 3-D effects. Steven Spielberg directs the mother of all monster movies from Michael Crichton’s best-selling novel, detailing what happens after genetically re-created dinosaurs break loose in a theme park and see two young children and assorted adults as tasty treats. The first hour is almost humdrum, simply an atmospheric buildup to what everyone knows will happen: the dinos running amuck and puny humans running for their lives. This is a movie where action speaks much louder than words and, as such, dialogue and characterizations are weak. It’s the special effects that are mighty. And spectacular they are. The six species of dinosaurs look incredibly realistic and the ravenous shrieks they emit will raise goose bumps on your goose bumps. Spielberg handles the death scenes gingerly (undoubtedly to avoid an R rating and win a more profitable PG-13) and victims are usually done in behind bushes, fogged- up windows or off-screen. The menace to the two kids (Joseph Mazzello and Ariana Richards), however, is really scary in scene after scene and would definitely give children nightmares. In fact, the movie becomes such a terrifying horror film, it may be too intense even for a few teens and adults although most should be able to handle the high-velocity thrills. With such a premium placed on the rampaging monsters, it is actually the group shots of peaceful dinos that are enchanting.
