Using this guide This document provides updated Partner guidance for the CSP partner-initiated Microsoft Office 365 E1 and Microsoft 365 Business Basic promos and Ingram Micro’s Remote Work Rebate Program launched May 4th, 2020. Overview To support partners in their response to the ongoing COVID-19 situation, Microsoft has made a number of program changes to enable customers who do not have access to Teams to start using Teams as a hub for collaboration that brings together chat, meetings, and Microsoft 365, all in one place.

The CSP Office 365 E1 and Microsoft 365 Business Basic promos are designed for new customers only and are transactable as traditional paid subscription licenses. New customers are validated through Microsoft Partner Center, not Cloud Marketplace. Due to post-transaction validation by Microsoft, partners will be issued Cloud Marketplace credits in arrears for eligible ‘net new’ customers for the first 6 months. After the initial 6-month free period, Ingram Micro will begin billing at normal rates for monthly bills in months 7 through 12 of the annual commitment.

Frequently asked questions How should partners use these promos? Partners can include these promos into current customer acquisition motions to enable new customers in need of remote work scenarios to sign up with a partner. Throughout the promo, partners have opportunity to showcase the value of Teams and Microsoft 365 to new customers to drive to a renewal decision.

How is this approach different from the Office 365 E1 Trial launched on April 1st, 2020? The updated Office 365 E1 and Microsoft 365 Business Basic promos differ from the legacy Office 365 E1 Trial in two ways: 1. Technical Enforcement of “New Customer Only” qualification for Office 365 E1 and Microsoft 365 Business Basic promos. These promos will only be able to be added to new customer tenants. 2. Monthly billing beginning in Month 7. Customers will make an annual commitment to a monthly billed subscription when leveraging the Office 365 E1 or Microsoft 365 Business Basic promos. Partners will receive bills from Ingram Micro for licenses beginning in Month 7 through Month 12.

When will this change take place? The updated Office 365 E1 promo and new Microsoft 365 Business Basic promo will be made available in CSP starting Monday, May 4th, 2020. At that time, we will also discontinue new starts of the Office 365 E1 Trial.

How long will these promos be available? The Office 365 E1 and Microsoft 365 Business Basic promos will be available through June 30th, 2020. Microsoft may choose to extend availability of these promos based on the evolving environment.

What does “New Customer Only” mean? The Office 365 E1 and Microsoft 365 Business Basic promos will technically enforce that customers be a net new customer tenant or must not have a currently paid or recently canceled (within the last 30 days) subscription across CSP, Web Direct, or any other Microsoft commercial channel for any of the following products:

• Office 365 E1, E3, E5 • Microsoft 365 E3, E5 • Office 365 F3 • Microsoft 365 F3 • Microsoft 365 Apps for enterprise (formerly known as Office 365 ProPlus) • Microsoft 365 Business Basic (formerly known as Office 365 Business Essentials) • Microsoft 365 Business Standard (formerly known as Office 365 Business Premium) • Microsoft 365 Business Premium (formerly known as Microsoft 365 Business) • Microsoft 365 Apps for business (formerly known as Office 365 Business) • Exchange Online Essentials, Plan 1, Plan 2

What if my customer does not align to one of the eligible customer types? Your customer may be eligible for another offer such as the Partner-Initiated Microsoft Teams Trial for a 6-month duration.

How will the 6 month promotion work on Ingram Micro Cloud Marketplace? CSP partners can initiate the offer through Ingram Micro Cloud Marketplace on behalf of the customer after May 4th, 2020. Partners purchase monthly Microsoft 365 Business Basic or Office 365 E1 licenses just as they normally would through the marketplace. Opportunities eligible for Microsoft’s 6-month free promotion will automatically be tracked by Ingram Micro. Partners will be issued credits in arrears. This means that the partner will receive an upfront charge for the licenses but will be credited each subsequent month for the first 6 months.

When will partners receive their credit? Credit dates will vary by marketplace based on when Ingram Micro receives the Microsoft file data, but will be issued within 45 days of the purchase date.

Can I charge customers for their Office 365 E1 or Microsoft 365 Business Basic service during the promo period? Microsoft expects partners to pass along the full promo value to customers during the promo period. Microsoft may audit partners to ensure compliance.

Why create a new Microsoft 365 Business Basic promo? Microsoft wants to ensure that customers are started in the right product family to simplify paid conversion and upsell conversations at the end of the promo. This means starting <300 seat customers in the Microsoft 365 for business family, making upsell to Microsoft 365 Business Standard and Microsoft 365 Business Premium logical. While we will not technically enforce 300 seats as a minimum for the Office 365 E1 promo, we recommend only using the Office 365 E1 promo with customers with more than 300 seats.

Do partners need to wait 6 months to convert customers to higher paid SKU? No, partners can convert or upsell customers to Paid SKU’s via Cloud Marketplace CSP at any time.

Will the partners need to take action to begin billing customers? No, customers commit to an annual subscription, with billing resuming automatically in Month 7, and continuing through Month 12.

What happens to customers who already started the CSP Office 365 E1 Trial? Microsoft will continue to enable customers who have already started a CSP Office 365 E1 Trial to continue using it. No additional customers will be able to create 6-month CSP Office 365 E1 Trials beginning May 4th, 2020. At that time, new customers instead should leverage the CSP Office 365 E1 Promo as described in this document.

What if a customer does not wish to license Office 365 E1 or Microsoft 365 Business Basic? For customers who do not wish to license Office 365 E1 or Microsoft 365 Business Basic, Microsoft will make available similar promotions on certain standalone components of Office 365 E1 and Microsoft 365 Business Basic reactively.

Details of the CSP Office 365 E1 and Microsoft 365 Business Basic Promos

Which customers are not eligible for the promos? Organizations are not eligible for the trial if: •  They do not meet the “New Customer” definition as described above •  They are a Syndication Partner customer •  They are a GCC, GCC High, DoD or EDU customer

How many licenses can be acquired through the Promo? There is a 3000-license limit for the Office 365 E1 Promo. Licenses beyond 3000 will not be eligible for the promo pricing. There is a 300-license limit for the Microsoft 365 Business Basic Promo, in line with seat restrictions for SMB SKUs. Regardless of the number of licenses, customers commit to an annual duration.

What is included in the trial? For each license assigned to a user in the trial they will be provisioned additional backend services that enable them to experience the full value of Microsoft Teams. This includes: •  Exchange Online Plan 1 •  Flow for Office 365 Plan 1 •  Forms, Microsoft Planner, Microsoft Whiteboard •  Microsoft Teams (Teams1, Teams IW) •  Office Online •  PowerApps for Office 365 Plan 1 •  SharePoint Online Plan 1 •  Stream, Sway, Yammer Enterprise

How are these promotions configured? The promotion is configured as a 100% discount for the first 6 months of a monthly-billed, annual commitment subscription for either Office 365 E1 or Microsoft 365 Business Basic. Partners will leverage the same Offer GUID they already use to transact paid versions of these SKUs. Through Ingram Micro, partners will be issued credits in arrears. This means that the partner will receive an upfront charge for the licenses but will be credited each subsequent month for the first 6 months. How can I know if my customer has had the promotion applied? Partners can confirm if the promotion is applied to their customer’s purchase by logging into Partner Center and looking at their Activity log, where they can see the Promotion name for each offer which has promotion applied in the new order you make.

Promotion applied has been introduced to the Create Order event in Microsoft Partner Center Activity log, where partners can see the Promotion name for each offer which has promotion applied in the new order you make. Please find full walkthrough here on Page 11 and 12.

What price will Ingram Micro bill at Month 7? Ingram Micro will honor the catalog price as set at the time of promo start for the duration of the annual commitment. This means if a customer starts the promo on June 1st, 2020, their price in Month 7 would be the monthly price on June 1st, and not the price on January 1st, 2021.

Can add-on SKUs be sold alongside the Office 365 E1 and Microsoft 365 Business Basic promo? Yes, paid add-ons can be added to Office 365 E1 or Microsoft 365 Business Basic promos even during the initial 6-month discount period.

What happens when I increase seat count (remaining below maximum) on the promoted offers during the promotion period? For subscriptions purchase with promotional pricing, new seats (under max seat count of 3000 for Office 365 E1 and 300 for Microsoft 365 Business Basic) added to this subscription during the promotion period will receive the same promotion price for the same discount period. New seats added outside of the promotion period (after June 30, 2020) will receive the regular price.

Ingram Micro Remote Work Rebate Program What is the new Remote Work Rebate that will be offered by Ingram Micro? Microsoft’s promotional offer allows customers to receive 6 months free with an annual commitment. In an effort to support our partners and ensure these opportunities remain as Office 365 or Microsoft 365 customers, we will be incentivizing our partners with rebate incentives at the end of their customer(s) annual commitment term.

How does the rebate work? Ingram Micro will track promo subscriptions initiated from May 4th through June 30th. Any seats that remain active through the full annual commitment, Ingram Micro will offer a rebate for remaining active seats following month 12.

How much can partners earn? The promotion will follow a tiered rebate structure. Partners must reach 50 seats to be eligible for this offer. 50-seat minimum can be a combination of M365 Business Basic and Office 365 E1 seats. Seat threshold can be met from multiple customer opportunities.

How will the rebate be paid out? Rebates will be calculated in USD and will be issued in local currency as Cloud Marketplace or BCN credit memos. Exchange rates will be calculated at the time payment is issued.

When will rebates be paid out? Rebates will be paid within 45 days of the completion of the customer’s annual commitment and can be used for new and existing customers.

Is there a maximum payout for this rebate? No, there will no rebate maximum payout.

What happens if the customer moves to another SKU or adds additional seats? The customer can change plans throughout the year, but must maintain a minimum of M365 Business Basic or E1 to be eligible. Downgraded SKUs will not qualify. Additional seats added throughout the year will not be eligible for this promotion. Ingram Micro will review seats initiated during the promo period of May 4th through June 30th , and map those seats to the number of paid seats at the end of the 12 month period. Qualified upgraded SKUs include:

• Office 365 E1 • Office 365 E3 • Office 365 E5 • Microsoft 365 Business Basic • Microsoft 365 Business Standard • Microsoft 365 Business Premium

How does a partner take advantage of this offer? Partners can participate in 3 easy steps: 1. Opt-In to the promotion through the offer landing page: microsoft.ingrammicrocloud.com/ remotework 2. Purchase Office 365 E1 or Microsoft 365 Business Basic through the marketplace just as they normally would. Qualifying promotional purchases will be tracked by Ingram Micro from now through June 30th 3. Customers start earning. Cloud Marketplace or BCN credit memos will be issued automatically the month following their renewal date.

Will I need to register each customer deal applicable for the rebate program? No, there is only one opt-in process. Ingram Micro will monitor and track each eligible deal sold through Cloud Marketplace to calculate your cumulative rebate payout on Month 12. Partner must opt-in before June 30, 2020.

Will the initial E1 trials that were offered previously qualify for this promotion? No, this offer will only apply to the Office 365 E1 and Microsoft 365 promo SKUs launched May 4th and available through June 30th.

Will promo trials purchased from Microsoft Partner Center directly or Web Direct be eligible for this rebate program? No, seats must be provisioned through Ingram Micro Cloud Marketplace in order to be eligible.

What happens if seats cancel before the end of the annual commitment? If a partner provisions 100 seats of the M365 Business Basic promotion, but only 50 seats remain through the annual commitment, the partner would only receive rebate on those 50 seats.
