Larry Schacht Memorial Fund Young Israel of East Brunswick 193 Dunhams Corner Road East Brunswick, New Jersey 08816

March 15, 2016

Dear Members:

We are very happy to announce that the 20th annual YIEB Larry Schacht Memorial baseball outing will be on Sunday, April 17, as we go to see the Yankees host the Seattle Mariners in a 1:00 PM game at Yankee Stadium.

Larry Schacht was a member of our Shul, and the brother of Al Schacht, a former major league pitcher and coach who was most famous as the “Clown Prince of Baseball” from the 1930’s onward. When Larry passed away, he made a bequest to our Shul to be used to foster a love of and sports in our youth. Each year, his bequest has enabled a YIEB group to attend a baseball game.

We plan to leave by chartered bus from YIEB at 10:30 AM, and we would anticipate returning at approximately 6:00 PM.

The outing is open to children from first grade upward, as well as to adults. To help defray the cost of the event (and so as to enable the fund to benefit more children in future years), the cost per person (children and adults) is $20. That cost does not include food, for which participants should make their own arrangements.

Space is limited, and will be allotted first- come, first-served based on registration on the YIEB website.

We hope to see you at the game. Play Ball!
