Official's signature IDAHO STATE RECAP POCATELLO, Idaho—Amanda Mangelson scored two second half goals to lead the Utah Valley women's soccer team to a 3-1 road win over Idaho State in an exhibition match at Davis Field in Pocatello, Idaho.

"The result was great," said head coach Chris Lemay. "It wasn't necessarily the way we drew it up but credit to our players for rolling up their sleeves and winning in a way that isn't the brand that we are used to playing. Idaho State came out very hard and pressed us all over the field and solved some of the stuff that we were trying to do. We had to switch scripts and do it a different way and our players were able to handle it."

After falling behind 1-0 in the 15th minute, Utah Valley's Sadie Brockbank found the back of the net after receiving a pass from Laken Flinders in the 23rd minute to tie things up, 1-1. The two teams went scoreless the remainder of the half and took the tie into the break.

Mangelson scored what would prove to be the game winner in the 45th minute as she fired a shot past the ISU keeper to give the Wolverines a 2-1 advantage. Alexis Peterson was credited with the assist on the score.

Mangelson earned her brace as she secured the UVU victory with a goal in the 88th minute. The sophomore forward dribbled between a pair of defenders at the top of the box and then con- nected on a shot to the upper left corner of the goal for the score.

"Amanda Mangelson did a fantastic job coming off the bench for us," Lemay said. "We've converted her from a center back to a wide forward and right now we're looking pretty smart for doing that."

Breanna McCarter led the Wolverines with five shots, including two on goal. Brockbank tallied three shots, while Flinders and Madeline Moore each registered two shots. Sarah Davis earned the win in the box for UVU. The senior keeper collected seven saves while allowing just one goal.

Utah Valley outshot ISU 20-18 on the day, including a 9-8 advantage on goal.
