The team picked up a 3-0 13 at Colorado (Pac12.com) L, 0-3 shutout victory at New Mexico State before dropping a 3-1 decision at UT Rio Grande Valley. 15 Oklahoma (UVUtv/WDN) L, 0-1 Sadie Bockbank, Leesa Stowe, and Whitney Paskins each found the back of the net to lead the Wolverines to the 3-0 shutout over New Mexico State last Friday in Las Cruces. Hatch is working toward her bachelor's degree in family life at BYU. She is one of four siblings, including current UVU midfielder Brianna Hatch.

UVU'S FIRST-EVER INTERNATIONAL TRIP IN COSTA RICA A HUGE SUC- CESS The Utah Valley University women's soccer team wrapped up its international trip to Costa Rica with a 2-1 setback to the Costa Rica Women's National Team on May 16 at the San Sebastian Sports Complex in San José, Costa Rica.

The team enjoyed a 10-day, 9-night first-ever international trip with a 2-1 record with wins over San Carlos and Moravia. The team scored a combined 15 goals and conceded only two goals over the three matches.

The game wraps up the team's first-ever international expedition. Besides the three matches against international competition, UVU was able to participate in a community service project. The Wolverines were able to spend time with students at a school that assists children living in extreme poverty conditions. The team also had the opportuni- ty to visit a number of historical and cultural venues in Costa Rica. The squad was able to enjoy the beautiful scenery, beaches, and waterfalls that the country has to offer.

"We literally saw all of Costa Rica," said Lemay. "We had unbelievable excursions, trained in local villages, and had a powerful experience spending time with the children at the school. We had 20 players with us and 15 of them had never even been 5 UTAH VALLEY UNIVERSITY WOMEN'S SOCCER

UTRGV RECAP EDINBURG, Texas—Utah Valley took an early lead but couldn't hold on as UT Rio Grande Valley scored three unanswered goals to defeat the Wolverines 3-0 on Sunday afternoon at the UTRGV Athletic Soccer and Track & Field Complex.

"UTRGV scored all three of its goals on well-struck set pieces and so we need to do a better job of being disciplined around the goal," said Utah Valley head coach Chris Lemay. "We won't hang our heads on this loss. We'll take note of some things we need to work on and get ready for Chicago State at home on Friday morning."

Utah Valley (2-10-1, 1-1-0) took a 1-0 lead in the 24th minute as Breanna McCarter dribbled past a UTRGV defender down the right side of the field and sent a cross into the box. Whitney Paskins was on the receiving end and kicked the ball in with her left foot for her team-leading fourth goal of the season to give the Wolverines the 1-0 advantage. McCarter was credited with the assist—her second of the season.

UT Rio Grande Valley (7-4-1, 1-1-0) found the back of the net with just 38 seconds remaining in the first half as Lea Kalmbach scored on a free kick from about 22 yards out to send the game into the break tied, 1-1.

UTRGV's Emily Zapata scored the game winner in the 65th minute as she scored on a free kick from just 20 yards out at the top left of the box. The Vaqueros then secured the match with a penalty kick goal in the 77th minute by Sarah Bonney.

UTRGV out-shot UVU 20-15 on the day, including a 9-4 advantage on frame. UVU earned four corner kicks to UTRGV's two. Paskins led the Wolverines with five shots, including two on goal.
