PRESS RELEASE Highlights of the Region VII (Central Visayas) Population 2020 Census of Population and Housing (2020 CPH) Date of Release: 20 August 2021 Reference No. 2021-323 • The population of Region VII - Central Visayas as of 01 May 2020 is 8,081,988 based on the 2020 Census of Population and Housing (2020 CPH). This accounts for about 7.41 percent of the Philippine population in 2020. • The 2020 population of the region is higher by 685,090 from the population of 7.40 million in 2015, and 1.28 million more than the population of 6.80 million in 2010. Moreover, it is higher by 2.38 million compared with the population of 5.71 million in 2000. (Table 1) Table 1. Date and time: 05 May 2015, 15:30 hrs. Identity of subject: Turtle‐headed Seasnake, Emydocephalus annulatus (Reptilia: Serpentes: Elapidae). Description of record: While conducting a fish survey on the coral reef of Bitaug, Enrique Villanueva, Siquijor a single Turtle‐headed Seasnake Emydocephalus annulatus was observed and photographed (Fig. 1). The seasnake rested for about 10 minutes, after which it started foraging the coral reef bottom.
