Ashish left a successful career in banking to return to Canada's cricket fold after a sporadic absence. He has played in 3 world cups for Canada having first played as a teenager in 2003. Ashish will lead the team as keeper as well as the team's all time leading ODI scorer.

Harvir moved to Canada as a teenager and honed his cricketing skills as a medium pace bowler. Debuting for Canada in the 2008 season, Harvir has become a mainstay in the Canadian pace lineup. Harvir played the 2009 domestic season for Colts Cricket Club in the Sri Lankan Domestic League’s Premier Division.

This will be Henry’s second world cup appearance for Canada, previously playing in 2007.

Despite being born in Sri Lanka, Gunasekera has grew up a true Canadian cricketer. Learning his trade in the fields of Toronto, Gunasekera was one of the key players in Canada’s march to a best ever finish at the 2010. Returning to his native Sri Lanka in 2010, Gunasekera starred in the premier domestic competition as a top 10 batsmen before returning to Canada to take part in the Caribbean T20 tournament.

The Man of the series in the 2009 ICC America’s World Cup Qualifier, Patel helped Canada into its first u19 world cup in 4 years before making the leap to the senior team. He immediately announced his intention to stay with an 88 on debut against the Irish in Sri Lanka. He has been part of the team ever since and made an impact with the bat and the ball.

A promising product of the Alberta domestic system, Tariq is one of Canada’s top young wicketkeepers and has been Canada’s first choice gloveman when Ashish Bagai is not playing. He has featured in a handful of first class games for Canada top-scoring in his debut against XI.

MANAGEMENT TEAM

Pubudu Dassanayake

The head coach of the Canadian Senior Men’s team, since 2007, Dassanayake led Canada to a successful qualification campaign in the 2009 tournament in . This will be the first world cup for the former Sri Lankan Wicket Keeper batsman who played 11 tests and 16 ODI’s for his native Sri Lanka before moving to Canada. Dassanayake played for Canada in 2006 and 2007 before taking up the role of head coach.

Chandika Hathurusinghe

Currently working with New South Wales as a coaching consultant, Hathu, as he is known, is a former Sri Lankan opening batsman and bowler who played 26 tests and 35 ODI’s during his career. Following his playing career he coached Sri Lanka A and UAE before being appointed Sri Lanka’s shadow coach until 2010.

Rathan Moorthy

Canada’s match analyst since 2008, Moorthy had played and coached through the Alberta and Western Canadian U-19 and u-25 programs for over 15 years before moving to the national level. He is a highly rated associate analyst and participated in a 2009 coaching visitation with the Victoria Bushrangers and Tasmania Tigers of the Australia domestic system.

Michael Henry

Canada’s senior team manager since 2004, Henry has been a fixture in Canadian cricket for decades. He is a former senior coordinator of , as well as a former umpiring coordinator. He umpired matches at the 2003 Cricket World Cup before he became the manger, taking the team to the .

Johnny Bujan

Johnny is the manager or Canada’s ‘A’ team and will serve as assistant manager on the world cup tour. He is the current owner/manager of Brampton Master’s cricket club who are the 2010 Elite Division Champions of the TDCA.

Colin Berenhaut

Partner and Director of Sports Performance Centres Ltd, Berenhaut has worked with professional athletes and teams over the past 12 years including professional athletes of the CFL, NHL, MLS, and World Ranked athletes from USA, India, Czech Republic, Sweden and Canada in various sports including swimming, soccer, figure skating and competitive dance. As a former Canadian soccer Team player, his experience at the elite level allows him to understand the needs of the athlete from both a competitive and physiological capacity.

Dr. Giovanni Perri

Dr. Perri graduated with a Bachelor of Arts Specialized Honours Kinesiology degree from York University in 2005. He graduated from the Canadian Memorial Chiropractic College in 2009 as a Doctor of Chiropractic. Currently, Dr. Perri is completing a post-graduate fellowship in sports sciences and masters of science degree specializing in sports and rehabilitation.
