Fuhrer and Jane Sneddon Little* During the 1990s, the Federal Reserve has pursued its twin goals of price stability and steady employment growth with considerable success. But despite--or perhaps because of--this success, concerns about the pace of economic and productivity growth have attracted renewed attention. Many observers ruefully note that the average pace of GDP growth has remained below rates achieved in the 1960s and that a period of rapid investment in computers and other capital equipment has had disappointingly little impact on the productivity numbers. -

Received: 30 October 2018; Accepted: 18 December 2018; Published: 21 December 2018 Abstract: In this paper, we present a review of recent developments in artificial intelligence (AI) towards the possibility of an artificial intelligence equal that of human intelligence. AI technology has always shown a stepwise increase in its capacity and complexity. The last step took place several years ago with the increased progress in deep neural network technology. Each such step goes hand in hand with our understanding of ourselves and our understanding of human cognition. Indeed, AI was always about the question of understanding human nature. AI percolates into our lives, changing our environment. We believe that the next few steps in AI technology, and in our understanding of human behavior, will bring about much more powerful machines that are flexible enough to resemble human behavior. In this context, there are two research fields: Artificial Social Intelligence (ASI) and General Artificial Intelligence (AGI). The authors also allude to one of the main challenges for AI, embodied cognition, and explain how it can viewed as an opportunity for further progress in AI research. Systems such as question answering (QA) enable users to ask questions and receive feedback in the form of quick answers to questions posed in natural language, rather than in the form of lists of documents delivered by search engines. This task is challenging and involves complex semantic annotation and knowledge representation. This study reviews the literature detailing ontology-based methods that semantically enhance QA for a closed domain, by presenting a literature review of the relevant studies published between 2000 and 2020. The review reports that 83 of the 124 papers considered acknowledge the QA approach, and recommend its development and evaluation using different methods. These methods are evaluated according to accuracy, precision, and recall. An ontological approach to semantically enhancing QA is found to be adopted in a limited way, as many of the studies reviewed concentrated instead on Citation: Arbaaeen, A.; Shah, A. This article surveys the different usages of the term, in particular the way ‘anomalous’ behavioural phenomena are elicited, how these phenomena are incorporated in model building, and what sort of new theories of behaviour have been developed to account for bounded rationality in choice and in deliberation. It also discusses the normative relevance of bounded rationality, in particular as a justifier of non-standard reasoning and deliberation heuristics. For each of these usages, the overview discusses the central methodological problems. Introduction The behavioural sciences, in particular economics, have for a long time relied on principles of rationality to model human behaviour. Rationality, however, is traditionally construed as a normative concept: it recommends certain actions, or even decrees how one ought to act. It may therefore not surprise that these principles of rationality are not universally obeyed in everyday choices. Observing such rationality-violating choices, increasing numbers of behavioural scientists have concluded that their models and theories stand to gain from tinkering with the underlying rationality principles themselves. This line of research is today commonly known under the name ‘bounded rationality’. In all likelihood, the term ‘bounded rationality’ first appeared in print in Models of Man (Simon 198). It had various terminological precursors, notably Edgeworth’s ‘limited intelligence’ (467) and ‘limited rationality’ (Almond; Simon, ‘Behavioral Model of Rational Choice’).1 Conceptually, Simon (‘Bounded Rationality in Social Science’) even traces the idea of bounded rationality back to Adam Smith.
