Whitley I have an enlightened understanding of what happened to homecoming as we used to celebrate it. As a youngster, we celebrated homecoming at our church every first Sunday Writer/Sales/Photography in October. Leading into homecoming, we had church each night that week, specifically to seek new souls for Jesus. That was a considerable feat for an African-American student at our recently integrated high school. My classmates were looking for me, and I was planning to attend.
