ISLAND PLANNING (DESIGNATION OF SITES OF SPECIAL INTEREST) (JERSEY) ORDERS

THE ENVIRONMENT AND PUBLIC SERVICES COMMITTEE, in pursuance of Articles 11 and 27 of the Island Planning (Jersey) Law 1964,1 and after consultation with such persons or bodies of persons as appear to it appropriate as having special knowledge of or interest in buildings or places of public importance by reason of the attaching thereto of one of the special interests set out in Article 11(1) of the Island Planning (Jersey) Law 1964, orders as follows –

1 All that building known as La Gare de Grouville and the land appurtenant thereto, which building and land is situated in the Parish of Grouville, is designated as a site of special interest by reason of the special historical interest which attaches to that building and to that place.

8 The place known as Les Landes, situated in the parish of St. Ouen, delineated for the purposes of identification only on the Map in Schedule 6, and more fully described in Part 1 of Schedule 7, is designated as a site of special interest by reason of – (a) the special zoological interest which attaches to it as the habitat of the wild creatures specified in Part 2 of Schedule 7; and (b) the special botanical interest which attaches to it as the habitat of the wild plants specified in Part 3 of Schedule 7; and (c) the special archaeological and historical interest which attaches to it and to the building known as Le Château de Grosnez which lies within it.

9 The building and place known as “16 New Street”, situated in the parish of St. Helier and more fully described in Schedule 8 and indicated (by shading and in terms of their external limits) on the plan in Schedule 9, are designated as a site of special interest by reason of the special architectural, cultural, historical and traditional interest that attaches to them.

16 The building known as La Fantaisie, and the land appurtenant to it, situated at Belvedere Hill in the Parish of Saint Saviour – (a) the position and extent of which are described in Schedule 14 and shown by shading in dark and light grey on the plan set out in Schedule 15; and (b) which are distinguished respectively on the plan set out in Schedule 15 by shading in dark grey and light grey, are designated as a site of special interest by reason of the special architectural and historical interests that attach to them.

FULL DESCRIPTIONS OF SITES

1 L’Auberge du Nord (architectural, historical and traditional) The buildings collectively known as L’Auberge du Nord, previously known as Le Nord, in the parish of St. John, together with the roadways, courtyards, car parking areas, gardens or lands and other appurtenances dependent thereto and including field numbered 223 on the Map situate to the south of the buildings. To which property the limited liability company C. Le Masurier Limited has right by way of hereditary purchase by a contract dated the 16th day of November 1946, from Gilbert Henry Gulwell. The Site is delimited as follows, namely: – firstly, by an imaginary line taken from a point in the south-east corner (most southerly) of the Site on the north-east corner of the bank which separates field numbered 223 on the Map forming part of the Site on its southern side from field numbered 228 on the Map, which line is extended west, following the north face of the aforementioned bank as far as the east face of the bank which separates field numbered 223 forming part of the Site from field numbered 224 on the Map, whence the line is extended first north then west, following the east and north faces, respectively, of the bank and wall which separate the property designated from field numbered 224 on the Map, as far as a point which is coextensive with the east face of the bank which forms the boundary between fields numbered 224 and 225 on the Map, from which point the line is extended directly northwest to the south-east corner of the bank which separates the property designated on its western side from field numbered 221 on the Map, whence the imaginary line is extended north, following the east face of the said bank towards field numbered 221, as far as the south face of the bank which separates the property designated on its northern side from field numbered 220 on the Map, whence the line is extended first east, following the south faces of the bank and wall which separate the property designated on its northern side from fields numbered 220 and 219, respectively, on the Map, then north-east and north, following the south-east and east faces, respectively, of the bank and wall which separate the property designated from field numbered 219 on the Map, as far as a point in the north-west corner (most northerly) of the Site on the south face of the bank which separates the property designated on its northern (most northerly) side from field numbered 219 on the Map, whence the line is extended east, following the same alignment as the south face of the said bank towards field numbered 219 on the Map, as far as a point in the north-east corner (most northerly) of the Site on the western limit of the main road known as La Route

du Nord; and secondly, by a further imaginary line taken from the point in the north-east corner (most northerly) of the Site described above and extended south or thereabouts, following the western limit or thereabouts of the main road known as La Route du Nord, as far as the starting point in the south-east corner (most southerly) of the Site.

2 Bakehouse/Belltower at Les Capelles (architectural and historical) The building which formerly served as a bakehouse and comprising the bell tower established within the roof of the said building, the whole situate to the north-east of the house known as Les Capelles in the parish of St. John. The building formed part of the property which was bequeathed to Walter James Falla Esquire under the terms of the will of movable and immovable estate of his late father, Colin Cave Falla, which will was registered in the Public Registry of Jersey by an Act of the Royal Court dated the 11th day of January 1971, and to which property Colin Cave Falla had right by virtue of the deed of division of the immovable estate of his late father, Walter Falla Esquire, which deed was passed before the Royal Court on the 25th day of January 1930. The Site is delimited on all sides by the exterior faces of the north, east, south and west gables or walls forming part of the building designated.

3 Beau Verd Farm (architectural and historical) The house now known as Beau Verd Farm and which previously formed the main house to the property known as Beau Verd, in the parish of St. John. The house forms part of the property to which Simon Peter Airey and Christine Margaret Airey née Oakley, have right by way of hereditary purchase by a contract dated the 21st day of June 1985, from David John Huelin. The Site is delimited on its western side by the exterior face of the west gable of the house designated towards the house known as Le Milieu, on its eastern side by the exterior face of the east gable of the house designated towards the house known as Beau Verd Cottage and on its northern and southern sides by the exterior faces of the north and south gables, respectively, of the house designated towards gardens or lands which are dependent to the house designated but which are excluded from the Site.

4 Beaupré (architectural, historical and traditional) The house now known as Beaupré and previously known as Beech Farm, in the parish of St. John, together with the outbuildings to the north and to the south of the house and the driveways, courtyards and gardens dependent to the house, including land bearing the number 1017 on the Map and a small piece of land, upon which an apple crusher is sited, forming the northern corner of field numbered 1019 on the said Map. The whole forming part of the property to which the late James Edward Lewis Esq. had right by way of hereditary purchase (first corpus fundi) by a contract dated the 29th day of May 1943, from Walter Philip Picot. The Site includes the gables, walls and bank which form the west boundary of the property designated towards the main road known as La Grande Route de St. Jean. The Site is moreover delimited as follows, namely: – firstly, by the south

and west faces, respectively, of the banks which separate the property designated on its northern and eastern sides from fields numbered 1016 and 1018, respectively, on the Map; and secondly, by an imaginary line taken from the south-west corner of the bank separating the property designated on its eastern side and extended west, following the north face of the bank which separates the property designated on its southern side from field numbered 1019 on the Map, as far as the north-west face or thereabouts of the section of bank which extends across the north-west corner of field numbered 1019 to the south-east of the apple crusher forming part of the property designated, whence the line is extended south-west, following the same alignment as the north-west face of the aforementioned section of bank, as far as the west boundary of the property designated towards the main road.

5 Binkham and Meadow View (architectural and historical) Firstly, the house known as Binkham and previously bearing the number one Meadow View, together with the buildings and gardens to the south and to the north of the house; which property was bequeathed to Denys Huelin Le Vesconte by his late father, Clifford Le Vesconte under the terms of his will of immovable estate which was registered in the Public Registry of Jersey by an Act of the Royal Court dated the 18th day of December 1973, and to which property Clifford Le Vesconte had right by way of hereditary purchase by a contract dated the 18th day of September 1937, from Jane Ann Quenault and Laura Georgina Jane Quenault; and Secondly, the house situate to the east of the house described firstly above, known as Meadow View and previously bearing the number 2 Meadow View, together with the buildings and gardens to the south and to the north of the house; which property was also bequeathed by Clifford Le Vesconte under the terms of his will of immovable estate to Valerie Le Vesconte, and to which property the said Clifford Le Vesconte had right by way of hereditary purchase by a contract dated the 22nd day of July 1939, from Francis Goupy and Alfred Yves Goupy. The Site includes, firstly, the walls which forms the south boundary of the properties designated towards the parish highway known as La Rue Bechet; and secondly, the wall or gable and bank which form the west boundary of the property known as Binkham forming part of the Site towards field numbered 1062 on the Map. The Site is moreover delimited by the south face of the bank which separates the 2 properties designated on their northern side from field numbered 1061 on the Map, and by the west face of the bank which separates the property known as Meadow View forming part of the Site on its eastern side from field numbered 1064 on the Map.

6 Les Buttes (architectural, historical and traditional) The house known as Les Buttes in the parish of St. John, together with the outbuildings, courtyards, gardens or lands and other appurtenances surrounding the house, the whole forming part of the property which was bequeathed to Stanley Edwin Ball by his late mother Ellen May Ball née Smalley, widow of James Edwin Ball, under the terms of her will of immovable estate which was registered in the Public Registry of Jersey by an Act of the Royal Court dated the 3rd day of September 1997, and to which property Ellen May Ball née Smalley had right by way of hereditary purchase by a contract dated the 26th day of

October 1990, from Peter Bernard Johnson and Pamela Mary Johnson née Wain, his wife. The Site includes the walls and gables which form the boundaries of the property designated towards the parish highway known as La Rue des Buttes. The Site is moreover delimited as follows: – firstly, by the 2 boundary stones which form the north-east boundary of the triangular shaped piece of land within the northern part of the property designated towards the avenue which forms part of the adjacent property known as Deerbank; secondly, by the east faces of the wall and gable forming part of the property designated towards the aforementioned avenue forming part of the adjacent property known as Deerbank; thirdly, by the west (by 2 sections), north-west (in a curve) and north faces of the walls which form the boundaries of land forming part of the adjacent property known as Deerbank towards the property designated; fourthly, by an imaginary straight line taken from the south-west corner of the wall forming the west boundary (most southerly) of the property known as Deerbank and extended south, following the same alignment as the west face of the wall, as far as a point on the north face of the bank which forms the north boundary of field numbered 424 on the Map towards the property designated; fifthly, by the north face of the section of the bank forming the north boundary of field numbered 424 between the point described fourthly above and the north-west corner of the bank; and sixthly, by the north and west (by a small piece) faces of the walls and gables which form the boundaries of the properties known as Oakdale and La Petite Grange towards the property designated.

7 Caesarea Lodge (architectural and historical) The house known as Caesarea Lodge in the parish of St. John, together with the gardens or lands surrounding the house and the outbuilding erected in the eastern part of the said gardens or lands; the whole forming part of the property to which Peter McEwen Tillman has right by way of hereditary purchase by a contract dated the 5th day of December 1997, from John Richard Paul Frith Liddiard. The Site includes, firstly, the walls which form the south-west and north boundaries, respectively, of the property designated towards the main roads known as La Rue de la Mare Ballam and La Route des Issues, respectively; and secondly, the wall which forms the south-east boundary of the property designated towards the adjacent property bearing the number 6 Melbourne Park. The Site is moreover delimited by the north face of the section of fencing which separates the gardens to the south of the house forming part of the Site on their southern side from the driveway and car parking area which are dependent to the property designated but which are excluded from the Site.

8 Cemetery Gates (architectural) The entrance gate situate near the south-east corner of the new cemetery serving the parish of St. John, which premises were established by the parish on (amongst other lands) a certain piece of land within the field known as Le Clos à Genest, to which the parish has right by way of hereditary purchase by a contract dated the 20th day of April 1867, from Richard le Quesne. The Site comprises, firstly, 2 cast iron gates with granite gateposts either side of same; secondly, 2 sections of granite wall surmounted with cast iron railings, the

first abutting by the south on to the north face of the most northerly gatepost described above and the second section of wall abutting by the north on to the south face of the most southerly gatepost described above; and thirdly, 2 large granite pillars, the first situate against the northern end of the most northerly section of granite wall described above and the second granite pillar situate against the southern end of the most southerly section of granite wall described above. The Site is delimited on all sides by the exterior faces of the gates, gateposts, pillars and walls described above, towards the remainder of the cemetery premises which belong to the parish.

9 1 and 2 Central Villas (architectural, historical and traditional) Firstly, the house or cottage bearing the number one Central Villas and being the most westerly of 2 adjoining houses or cottages in the parish of St. John, together with the outbuilding being the most southerly of 2 outbuildings erected against the west gable of the house or cottage presently described, and the gardens or lands and appurtenances to the north and south of the house or cottage and outbuildings presently described; item, the outbuilding being the most northerly of 2 outbuildings erected against the east face of the wall to the west of the gardens dependent to the house or cottage presently described; item, the small outhouse being the most westerly of 2 outhouses erected near the outbuildings immediately described above; the whole forming part of the property to which the late Mrs. Phyllis Gartrell Green, née le Couteur, wife of Melvin Charles Green, had right by way of hereditary purchase by contract dated the 19th day of August 1983, from Mrs. Kathleen Gartrell Laurens le Maistre née Le Couteur, wife of Bertram Manning le Maistre; and Secondly, the house or cottage bearing the number 2 Central Villas and being the most easterly of the 2 adjoining houses or cottages mentioned firstly above, together with the gardens to the north and south of the said house or cottage; item, the outbuilding being the most northerly of those which are erected against the west gable of the house or cottage bearing the number one Central Villas; item, the outbuilding being the most southerly of those which are erected against the east face of the garden wall to the west of number one Central Villas; item, the small outhouse being the most easterly of those which are erected near the aforesaid outbuildings. The whole forming part of the property to which Kenneth James Le Couteur has right by virtue of the deed of division of the immovable estate which was bequeathed by Mrs. Kathleen Ada Dallain née Gartrell, to Philip Edgar Le Couteur Esquire, which deed was passed before the Royal Court on the 5th day of August 1983. The Site includes the gables and walls which form the east and north boundaries of the properties designated towards the parish highways. The Site is moreover delimited, firstly, by the east and north faces of the concrete block walls which lie to the west and to the south, respectively, of the gardens to the south of the cottages designated, and secondly, by the east and south (by a small piece) faces of the gable of the house forming part of the property known as La Saline which is situate to the west of the property designated.

10 Centre Stone (archaeological and historical) The Centre Stone of the Island of Jersey, situate in the parish of St. John and at the north-eastern end of the main avenue leading to and forming part of the

property known as Les Chasses, to which property Robert John Parker and Elinor Ruth Parker née McFadden, have right by way of hereditary purchase by a contract dated the 12th day of June 1998, from Leslie Tourgis le Vesconte. The Site includes land forming part of the avenue described above to the west and to the north-west of the Centre Stone, land forming part of the parish highway known as La Rue des Servais to the north-east of the Centre Stone and land forming part of the property known as Les Chasses Cottage to the south-east of the Centre Stone, to which property Valerie Louise Le Vesconte has right by virtue of the will of immovable estate of her late mother, Louisa Annetta le Vesconte, née Tourgis, widow of Clifford Le Vesconte, which will was registered in the Public Registry of Jersey by an Act of the Royal Court dated the 14th day of April 1986. The Site is indicated by shading and (in terms of its external limits) by the annotations shown on the first plan in Part 3 of this Schedule.

11 Chapelle des Frères (architectural, cultural and historical) The chapel known as La Chapelle des Frères in the parish of St. John, together with the outbuilding to the north and the land surrounding the chapel, the whole forming the property to which the Trustees for and on behalf of the chapel have right by of resignation from Philip Ernest Brée by a contract dated the 30th day of April 1910; item, the building or meeting house situate to the east of the chapel described above, which building previously served as a chapel; together with the adjoining cottage, outbuildings and appurtenances, the whole forming the property to which the Trustees for and on behalf of the chapel have right both by way of hereditary gift from Jean Le Quesne by a contract dated the 19th day of March 1821, and by way of hereditary purchase from the said Jean Le Quesne by a contract dated the 28th day of December 1833. The Site includes the walls and gable which form the south boundary of the property designated towards the parish highway known as Les Chenolles. The Site is moreover delimited as follows, namely: – firstly, by the west face of the wall which separates the chapel and appurtenances forming part of the Site on its western side, from field numbered 562 on the Map; and secondly, by an imaginary line taken from the north-west corner of the aforementioned wall and extended first east, following the north face of the wall and outbuilding situate immediately to the north of the chapel, then north (by a small piece) then further east, following the outer faces of the section of wall situate to the east of the aforementioned outbuilding, as far as the north-west corner of the granite outbuilding situate to the north of the meeting house forming part of the Site, whence the imaginary line is extended further east then south (by a small piece) following the outer faces of the granite outbuilding, as far as the north face of the small outbuilding situate to the east thereof and which forms the north-east corner of the Site, whence the line is extended further east then south, following the outer faces of the small outbuilding, as far as the south-east corner of same, whence the line is extended south-east, as far as the north-east corner of the mono-pitch outbuilding attached to the north gable of the meeting house forming part of the Site, whence the line is extended first south then west, following the outer faces of the mono-pitch outbuilding, as far as the east face of the granite wall situate to the east of the meeting house and cottage forming part of the Site, whence the line is extended further south, following the east faces of the granite wall and of

the east gable of the cottage, as far as the south boundary of the property designated towards the parish highway.

12 Les Charrières (architectural, historical and traditional) The house known as Les Charrières, together with the outbuildings, courtyards and gardens or lands surrounding the house, and including land bearing the field number 852 on the Map to the north and east of the house and outbuildings. The reversionary ownership of which property was bequeathed (amongst other hereditaments) to Mrs. Daphne Joy Romeril, née Bichard, widow of Philip Josué Romeril Junior, under the terms of the will of immovable estate (with codicil annexed thereto) of her late husband, which will was registered in the Public Registry of Jersey by an Act of the Royal Court dated the 8th day of November 1990. The external limits of the Site are constituted as follows, namely: – firstly, by the south, east and north faces of the banks which separate the property designated on part of the south, on the west and on part of the north, from fields numbered 849, 855, 851 and 854, respectively, on the Map; secondly, by the south face of the bank which separates the property designated on the remainder of the north from the property known as Bonne Nuit View; thirdly, by the west of the banks or walls which separate the property designated on the east from the properties known as Longchamps and Les Saules, respectively; and fourthly, by an imaginary straight line taken across the north end of the avenue which leads from the parish highway to the property designated, between the north-east corner of the bank separating the property designated from field 849 on the Map and the north-west corner of the bank separating the property designated from field 855 on the Map.

13 La Chasse (architectural, historical and traditional) The house known as La Chasse, together with the outbuildings, courtyards and gardens or lands surrounding the house, including the avenue which leads to the property from the main road known as La Grande Route de St. Jean; the whole forming part of the property to which, Alfred Francis Ingham Parmeter, has right by way of hereditary purchase by a contract dated the 27th day of May 1966, from Herbert Dallain. The Site is delimited as follows, namely: – firstly, by the east face of the granite wall which separates the property designated on part of its eastern side from field numbered 1065 on the Map, and by an imaginary straight line taken following the same alignment as the east face of the granite wall and extended south as far as a point in the southeast corner of the Site on the north face of the bank which separates the avenue designated on its southern side from field numbered 1070 on the Map; secondly, by the north face of the bank which lies immediately to the south of the avenue designated between the point mentioned firstly above and the eastern limit of the main road; thirdly, by an imaginary straight line taken across the western end of the avenue designated coextensive with the eastern limit of the main road, between the north-west corner of the bank to the south of the avenue and the south-west corner of the bank to the north of the avenue described fourthly below; fourthly, by the south face of the bank which separates the avenue designated on its northern side from field numbered 1068 on the Map, and by the east face of the bank separating the property designated on its western

side from field numbered 1068, between the south-east corner of the said bank and a point on the east face of same which is coextensive with the north face of the granite wall to the north of the most northerly outbuildings forming part of the Site, which wall separates the property designated on its northern side from field numbered 1065 on the Map; and fifthly, by a further imaginary straight line taken from the point described fourthly above and extended east, following the same alignment as the north face of the granite wall to the north of the most northerly outbuildings forming part of the Site, as far as the north-east corner of the granite wall which forms part of the eastern limit of the Site described firstly above.

14 Les Chasses (architectural, historical and traditional) The house known as Les Chasses, together with the outbuildings to the north, the small building or office to the south-west, the avenue being the most southerly of the 2 avenues which lead to the property from the parish highway known as La Rue des Chasses and the courtyards, gardens and other appurtenances surrounding the house; the whole forming part of the property to which David William Roberts and Margaret Roberts née Morgan, have right by way of hereditary purchase by contract dated the 22nd day of September 1989, from Stuart Duncan Smith. The Site includes the wall and bank which form the south boundary of the avenue and gardens forming part of the property designated towards fields numbered 384 and 413 on the Map. The Site is moreover delimited as follows, namely: – firstly, by the east face of the low wall situate immediately to the west of the stream which runs to the east of the gardens forming part of the Site, between the southern limit of the Site described above and a point on the east face of the said low wall which is on the same alignment as the wooden fencing which separates the gardens forming part of the Site on their northern side from field numbered 382 on the Map; secondly, by an imaginary straight line taken from the point described firstly above and extended first west, following the south face of the aforementioned wooden fencing as far as the south-west corner of same, then south or thereabouts, as far as the north-west corner of the gate pillar which is situate immediately to the east of the entrance to the cottage situate to the west of the property designated, whence the line is extended south-west as far as the north-east corner of the granite retaining wall which separates the courtyard forming part of the Site from the lawns and tennis courts, established on part of field numbered 383 on the Map to the west of the property designated, whence the line is extended south, following the same alignment as the east face of the aforementioned granite retaining wall, as far as the north-east corner of the small building or office forming part of the Site and which is situate immediately to the north of the eastern end of the avenue forming part of the Site; thirdly, by the exterior faces of the north-east and north-west gables of the small building or office and by an imaginary straight line extended south-west, following the same alignment as the north-west gable of the small building or office, as far as a point on the north face of the tree-lined bank which separates the avenue forming part of the Site on its northern side from field numbered 383 on the Map; fourthly, by the north face of the aforementioned tree-lined bank, found between the point described thirdly above and the western limit of the avenue forming part of the Site towards the parish highway known as La Rue des Chasses; and fifthly, by a further imaginary straight line taken following the western limit of the avenue

forming part of the Site towards the parish highway, between the north-west corner of the tree-lined bank forming the northern limit of the avenue and described fourthly above and the south-west corner of the bank forming the southern limit of the avenue towards fields numbered 384 and 413 on the Map.

15 Chestnut Grove and La Malzarderie (architectural, historical and traditional) Firstly, the house known as Chestnut Grove in the parish of St. John, together with the garage and outbuildings, courtyard and appurtenances to the north and east of the house and the gardens or lands, including the land known as Le Jardin à Potage and a strip of land within the western part of the land known as Le Jardin de la Rue, situate to the south of the house; to which property Peter Edward Francis Newbald and Annette Ruth Newbald née Olsen, have right by way of hereditary purchase by a contract dated the 29th day of April 1994, from Malcolm Stephen Lewis and Deborah Rachel Lewis née Colback; Secondly, the house known as La Malzarderie situate to the north of the property firstly described above and which was previously known as Chestnut Grove Farm, together with the outbuildings to the north and east of the house and the gardens or lands, avenue and appurtenances dependent thereto; to which property the late Major John Roland Christopher Riley had right by way of hereditary purchase by a contract dated the 6th day of September 1996, from Michael Howard Gleeson Esquire and Maria Aurelia Gleeson née Quiligotti; and Thirdly, the house known as Le Jardin de St. Etienne and which previously formed the west wing to the house described secondly above known as La Malzarderie, together with the building to the north and the courtyard and garden or land dependent to the house; to which property Rebecca Joanna Patricia Maitland Robinson has right by way of hereditary purchase (first corpus fundi) by a contract dated the 15th day of June 1990, from the limited liability company known as La Charbonnière Limited. The Site includes the walls, gables and banks which form the west, north and south boundaries of the properties designated towards the parish highway known as La Rue des Chataigners and towards the main road known as La Route du Mont Mado, respectively. The Site is moreover delimited from fields numbered 915 and 916 on the Map as follows: – firstly, by the 3 boundary stones which form the east, south-east and north boundaries of the property known as Chestnut Grove forming part of the Site towards fields numbered 915 and 916, the location of which boundary stones is fully described within the above-mentioned contract of purchase of the property known as Chestnut Grove dated the 29th April 1994; and secondly, by the 7 boundary stones which form the east and north-east boundaries of the property known as La Malzarderie forming part of the Site towards fields numbered 915 and 916, the location of which boundary stones is fully described within the above-mentioned contract of purchase of the property known as La Malzarderie dated the 6th September 1996.

16 Church of St. John (archaeological, architectural, cultural, historical and traditional) The building which serves as the Parish Church of St. John, together with the land and other appurtenances surrounding the Church building. The Site is delimited

on all sides by an imaginary line taken from a point on the south-east corner of the granite gate pillar situate to the east of the main entrance to the Site from the main road known as La Route de St. Jean, which imaginary line is extended north as far as the south-west or exterior face of the granite wall situate immediately adjacent to the said gate pillar, whence the imaginary line is further extended following the exterior faces of the granite wall which surrounds the Site towards the pavements or footpaths forming part of the main road known as La Route de St. Jean and the parish highway known as La Rue du Temple, as far as a point where the imaginary line meets the west face of the gate pillar situate to the west of the main entrance to the Site described above, whence the imaginary line is extended first south as far as the south-west corner of the said gate pillar and then east across the main entrance to the Site as far as the starting point on the south- east corner of the gate pillar situate to the east of the main entrance to the Site.

17 Cross Cottage Farm (architectural, historical & traditional) The house known as Cross Cottage Farm in the parish of St. John, together with the outbuildings annexed to the south gable of the house, the courtyard to the east of part of the outbuildings and to the south of the house and including the small outbuilding which previously served as a bake-house situate in the eastern part of the courtyard; the whole forming part of the property to which Mrs. Iris Maud Gallichan, née Du Val, widow of John Cabot Gallichan, has right (jointly with her late husband) by way of hereditary purchase by a contract dated the 29th July 1966, from Mrs. Emilie Richard née Adoyer. The Site includes the walls and gable which form the east boundary of the property designated towards the main road known as La Route du Mont Mado. The Site is moreover delimited as follows, namely: – firstly, by the exterior faces of the north and west gables of the house designated and by the exterior faces of the west and south gables of the outbuildings designated which are annexed to the house; secondly, by an imaginary straight line taken from the south-east corner of the outbuildings annexed to the house and extended north, following the exterior face of the east gable of the outbuildings, as far as a point which is coextensive with the south face of the small outbuilding or bake-house situate in the courtyard forming part of the Site; and thirdly, by a further imaginary straight line taken from the point described above and extended east, following the same alignment as the south face of the small outbuilding or bake-house, as far as the east boundary of the property designated towards the parish highway.

18 Don Farm (architectural, historical and traditional) The house known as Don Farm in the parish of St. John, together with the outbuildings, courtyards and gardens or lands and appurtenances surrounding the house, the whole forming part of the property to which John Ian Scott Rankin has right by way of hereditary purchase by a contract dated the 12th September 1997, from Gladys Elsie Maud Rouillé née Le Monnier, widow of Albert Rouillé. The Site includes the walls and gables which form the west boundary of the property designated towards the parish highway known as La Rue de l’Etocquet. The Site is moreover delimited as follows, namely: - firstly, by the south face of the wall which separates the property designated on its northern side from the property known as Tuck-Awai; secondly, by an imaginary line taken from the south-east corner of the aforementioned wall and extended east, following the

same alignment as the south face of the bank which separates the property designated from field numbered 195 on the Map, as far as a point in the north- east corner of the Site on the west face of the bank which separates the property designated on its eastern side from field numbered 198 on the Map, whence the line is extended first south, following the same alignment as the west face of the bank to the west of field numbered 198 then south-west or thereabouts, following the north-west face of the bank which separates the property designated from fields numbered 194 and 193 on the Map, as far as the south-west corner of the granite outbuilding situate to the south of the courtyard to the south of the house forming part of the Site, whence the line is extended west or thereabouts, following the same alignment as the exterior face of the south gable or thereabouts of the said outbuilding, as far as the west boundary of the property designated towards the parish highway.

The external limits of the Site are constituted by an imaginary straight line taken from the north-east corner of the gate pillar situate to the north of the main avenue forming part of the Site adjacent to the main road, whence the imaginary line is extended west then south, following the same alignment as the exterior faces of the said gate pillar, as far as the northern edge of the main avenue forming part of the Site, whence the line is extended west, following the same alignment as the northern edge of the main avenue as far as the east face of the east gable of the house bearing the number 6 Clos du Douet forming part of the Site, whence the line is extended north, then east (by a small piece) then north following the exterior faces of the gable and wall which form the east and south (by a small piece) boundaries of the property bearing the number 6 Clos du Douet as far as the north-east corner most northerly of the said wall, whence the line is extended west following the north faces of the walls which form the respective north boundaries of the properties bearing the numbers 1 to 6, inclusively, Clos du Douet, as far as the north-west corner of the wall which forms the north boundary of number one Clos du Douet, whence the line is extended south, following the west face of the wall and gable forming the west boundary of the latter property, then further south, following the west face of the wall to the west of the courtyard or roadway in common forming part of the Site, then being further south following the west face of the west wall of the outbuildings or pigsties forming part of the Site, as far as the south-west corner of the wall, whence the imaginary line is extended east, following the same alignment as the exterior faces of the

south wall of the aforementioned outbuildings and of the south gables and walls of the property known as Le Douet forming part of the Site, as far as the west face of the outbuilding or pump-house also forming part of the latter property and which is situate immediately to the west of the building or lavoir forming part of the Site, whence the line is extended south then east, following the same alignment as the west and south faces, respectively, of the outbuilding or pump- house, as far as the west face or thereabouts of the concrete border which forms the eastern edge of the main avenue forming part of the Site, whence the imaginary line is extended north or thereabouts, following the west face or thereabouts of the said concrete border, as far as the north-west corner of same, whence the imaginary line is extended east, following the southern edge of the main avenue forming part of the Site, as far as the west face of the gate pillar situate to the south of the main avenue adjacent to the main road, whence the imaginary line is extended south, then east, then north, following the same alignment as the exterior faces of the gate pillar, as far as the starting point on the north-east corner of the gate pillar situate to the north of the main entrance to the Site.

20 Le Douet (architectural, historical and traditional) The house now known as Le Douet and which previously formed the main house to the property known as Le Douet Farm in the parish of St. John, together with the courtyard and outbuilding to the north and the gardens to the south of the house and including the verge situate along the eastern extremity of the property. To which property John Fridulph Scott has right by way of hereditary purchase by a contract dated the 11th February 1966, from Basil Clarence Le Brun. The Site is delimited as follows, namely: – firstly, by an imaginary straight line taken following the western edge of the parish highway known as La Rue des Chasses between the north and south limits of the Site, hereinafter described; secondly, by the north face of the north gable of the outbuilding which forms the north boundary of the property designated towards field numbered 341 on the Map, and by an imaginary straight line extended east upon the same alignment as far as the western edge of the parish highway; thirdly, by the west faces of the gables and walls which form the west boundary of the property designated towards the adjacent properties known as Le Douet Cottage and Le Douet Flats; and fourthly, by an imaginary straight line taken from the south-west corner of the wall being the most southerly of those which form part of the west boundary of the property designated and extended east, following the same alignment as the south face of the hedge which separates the property designated on its southern side from the roadway which leads to the adjacent properties known as Le Douet Cottage and Le Douet Flats, as far as the western edge of the parish highway.

21 Les Escaliers (architectural, historical and traditional) The house known as Les Escaliers in the parish of St. John, together with the garage and outbuildings to the north of the house and the gardens or lands and appurtenances to the north and east of the house and outbuildings. To which property Nelson Arthur Fauvel has right by virtue of the will of immovable estate of his late uncle, John James Barette, which will was registered in the Public

22 La Genée and La Petite Genée (architectural, historical and traditional) The house known as La Genée, previously known as Rectory View, in the parish of St. John, together with the cottage now known as La Petite Genée to the south- east, the outbuildings to the south and the courtyards and gardens or lands surrounding the house, cottage and outbuildings; the whole forming part of the property to which Mary Casteen Venturini née Wilsey, wife of Franco Venturini, has right as follows: – to the cottage and appurtenances known as La Petite Genée by way of hereditary purchase by a contract dated the 30th day of May 1969, from Philippe Edouard (or Edward) Gavey; and to the remainder of the property not only by way of resignation made from Keith Sherwood Baker Esquire to Mary Casteen Venturini née Wilsey, jointly with Beatrice Sarah Finlay Wilsey née Best, widow of John Harold Owen Wilsey Esquire, C.B., C.B.E., by a contract dated the 29th April 1983, but also by way of gift of proprietary rights made to Mary Casteen Venturini née Wilsey from the said Beatrice Sarah Finlay Wilsey née Best, by a contract dated the 31st July 1992. 23 La Grande Maison (architectural and historical) The house known as La Grande Maison situate in the parish of St. John, together with the outbuildings, courtyard and gardens to the north of the house and the driveway and gardens to the south of the house; the whole forming part of the property which was bequeathed to Sophia Ashbrooke by her late grandmother, Mrs. Cicely Fanny Stourton née Haldin, widow of Eudo Philip Joseph Stourton, under the terms of the will of immovable estate of the deceased which was registered in the Public Registry of Jersey by an Act of the Royal Court dated the 11th May 1984, and to which property Mrs. Cicely Fanny Stourton née Haldin had right by way of hereditary purchase by a contract dated the 2nd day of August 1963, from Harold John Gamlin. It is noted that by a contract dated the 6th July 1984, Sophia Ashbrooke granted the life enjoyment of the property described above to her mother, Veronica Philippa Ashbrooke née Stourton, and to her father Philip Biden Derwent Ashbrooke, who is now deceased. The Site includes the gables and walls which form the west and south boundaries of the property designated towards the main road known as La Grande Route de St. Jean and the parish highway known as La Rue de Feugerel, respectively. The Site is moreover delimited as follows, namely: – firstly, by the west face of the bank which separates the property designated on its eastern side from field numbered 1011 on the Map; and secondly, by an imaginary straight line taken from the north-west corner of the aforementioned bank and extended north-west as far as the north-east corner of the granite gable or wall to the north of the greenhouse situate on the northern limit of the Site, whence the imaginary straight line is extended west, following the same alignment as the north face of the said gable or wall, as far as the west boundary of the property designated towards the main road.

24 Hautmont (architectural, historical and traditional) The house known as Hautmont in the parish of St. John, together with the cottage, outbuildings, courtyard, gardens and appurtenances to the west, south and east of the house; the whole forming part of the property which Betty Irene Fauvel, née Luce, wife of Hugh Fauvel, inherited from her late father, Francis Edward Luce, under the terms of his will of movable and immovable estate with codicil thereto, which will and codicil were registered in the Public Registry of Jersey by an Act of the Royal Court dated the 2nd November 1982, and to which property Francis Edward Luce had right by way of hereditary purchase by a contract dated the 27th February 1943, from Winter Laurens Bichard. The Site includes the walls and gables which form the south boundary of the property designated towards the parish highway known as La Rue de la Mare des Près. The Site is moreover delimited as follows, namely: – firstly, by the exterior faces of the west and south (by a small piece) gables of the buildings situate to the west of the house and courtyard designated, towards gardens which are dependent to the property designated but which are excluded from the Site; secondly, by the exterior face of the north gable of the building situate immediately to the west of the house designated and adjoining thereto, by the exterior faces of the north gable of the house and of the north-west and north-east (in a curve) walls of the small tower attached to the north gable of the house, and by the exterior faces of the north gables of the outbuildings situate immediately to the east of the house and adjoining thereto; and thirdly, by an imaginary

straight line taken from the north-east corner of the outbuilding being the most easterly of those situate immediately to the east of the house and extended east, following the same alignment as the north face of the said outbuilding, as far as the east face of the granite wall which separates the gardens to the east of the house forming part of the Site from the piece of land known as Le Val, which land is dependent to the property designated but is excluded from the Site, whence the imaginary line is extended first south then south-west, following the exterior face of the aforementioned granite wall, as far as the south boundary of the property designated towards the parish highway.

25 Herupe Cottage (architectural, historical and traditional) The house known as Herupe Cottage in the parish of St. John, forming part of the property which was bequeathed to Stella Dawn Bailey née Touzel, widow of Keith Albert Bailey, by her late uncle Edward George Mason under the terms of his will of immovable estate which was registered in the Public Registry of Jersey by an Act of the Royal Court dated the 19th April 1991, and to which property Edward George Mason had right by way of hereditary purchase by a contract dated the 27th August 1971, from Clifford le Vesconte. The Site is delimited on its western side by the exterior face of the west gable of the house designated towards the parish highway known as Le Chemin de Herupe, on its eastern side by the exterior face of the east gable of the house designated towards the adjacent house known as High-Tor and on its northern and southern sides by the exterior faces of the north and south gables, respectively, of the house designated towards land and buildings which are dependent to the house but which are excluded from the Site.

26 Herupe Farm (architectural, historical and traditional) The house known as Herupe Farm in the parish of St. John, together with the outbuildings, courtyards, gardens or lands and appurtenances surrounding the house, the whole forming part of the property which was bequeathed to Michael (or Michel) Victor Francis Larose, and to Mrs. Odette Kathleen Touzel née Larose, wife of Michael John Touzel, by their late mother Mrs. Léonie Marie Augustine Larose née Le Norman, widow of Joseph Marie Larose, under the terms of her will of immovable estate which was registered in the Public Registry of Jersey by an Act of the Royal Court dated the 22nd December 1987, and to which property the said Joseph Marie Larose and Léonie Marie Augustine Larose née Le Norman his wife, had right by way of hereditary purchase by a contract dated the 7th October 1961, from Charles Edward Simon and Florence Lydia Simon. The Site is indicated by shading and (in terms of its external limits) by the annotations shown on the second plan in Part 3 of this Schedule.

The Site is moreover delimited by an imaginary straight line taken from the north-east corner of the most northerly of 2 gateposts situate on either side of the entrance to the property designated from the parish highway known as Les Chenolles, which line is extended north-west as far as the north-east corner of the outbuilding which previously served as a bake-house situate to the north-west of the house designated, whence the imaginary line is extended west, following the north face of the said outbuilding or bake-house as far as the east face of the brick outhouse situate against the north gable of the said outbuilding or bake-house, whence the line is extended first north then west, following the east and north faces, respectively, of the brick outhouse, then south, following the same alignment as the west faces of the brick outhouse, of the outbuilding or bake-house and of the wall to the west of the pigsty which is situate immediately to the south of the outbuilding or bake-house, as far as the south-west corner of the said wall to the west of the pigsty, whence the line is extended south or thereabouts as far as the north-west corner of the granite gatepost which is situate immediately to the east of the entrance to the property designated from the parish highway known as Le Chemin de Herupe, whence the imaginary line is extended south, following the same alignment as the west face of the granite gatepost, as far as the south boundary of the property designated towards the parish highway known as Le Chemin de Herupe.

28 Highcliff (architectural and historical) The house known as Highcliff in the parish of St. John, together with the courtyard, driveways and gardens or lands to the south and to the east of the house, the whole forming part of the property to which Joyce Fay Cowan, wife of Bendet Gordon, has right by way of hereditary purchase by a contract dated the 18th April 1986, from Victor Le Couteur Luce. The Site includes the walls which form the south boundary of the property designated towards the parish highway known as La Rue de la Mare des Près. The Site is moreover delimited as follows, namely: – firstly, by an imaginary straight line taken from the south-west corner of the most westerly section of wall forming the south boundary of the property designated towards the parish highway and extended north-east as far as the south-east corner of the retaining wall which forms part of the west boundary of the property designated towards the adjacent property known as La Maison du Becquet, whence the line is extended north-north-east as far as a point on the south-west corner, most westerly, of the house forming part of the Site; secondly, by the exterior faces of the west (by 2 sections), north (by 3 sections) and east gables of the house designated between the point described immediately above and a point on the north-east corner, most easterly of the house designated; thirdly, by a further imaginary straight line taken from the latter point and extended east, following the same alignment as the exterior face of the north gable, most southerly, of the house as far as a point on the east face of the granite wall which separates the property designated on its eastern side from field numbered 888 on the Map; and fourthly, by the east face of that section of the granite wall separating the property designated from field numbered 888 which lies between the point

29 Les Houguettes (architectural and historical) The house known as Les Houguettes in the parish of St. John, together with the cottage to the west of the house and the outbuildings, courtyards, gardens or lands and other appurtenances surrounding the house, the whole forming part of the property to which Richard Francis Valpy Jeune and Celia Louise Jeune née Kirk, have right by way of hereditary purchase by a contract dated the 26th November 1976, from Christopher Denis George Pierre Waud and Sheila Noel Vera Goddard née Ward, wife of John Desmond Goddard. The Site includes the banks and walls forming the north boundary or thereabouts of the property designated towards the parish highway known as La Rue des Houguettes. The Site is moreover delimited by an imaginary straight line taken following the same alignment as the south faces of the 2 brick gate pillars situate on the southern limit of the gardens to the south of the house forming part of the Site and which separate the property designated on its southern side from field numbered 1080A on the Map, which imaginary straight line is extended first in an easterly direction, as far as the west face of the bank which separates the property designated on its eastern side from field numbered 1079 on the Map, whence the line is extended north then east, following the west and north faces, respectively, of the banks which separate the property designated from field numbered 1079 on the Map, as far as the north boundary of the Site described above towards the parish highway, and second in a westerly direction, as far as the west face of the bank or hedge which separates the cottage forming part of the Site on its western side from field numbered 1080A on the Map, whence the line is extended north or thereabouts, following the same alignment as the west face or thereabouts of the said bank or hedge, as far as the north boundary of the Site described above towards the parish highway.

30 Les Issues (architectural and historical) The house known as Les Issues in the parish of St. John, together with the outbuildings to the north and east of the house and the courtyard, avenue and gardens or lands to the east and south of the house and outbuildings, the whole forming part of the property to which Henry Peter Laurens Falla has right by virtue of the deed of division of the immovable estate of his late father, Henry Falla, which deed was passed before the Royal Court on the 8th July 1977. The Site includes the walls which form the south and east boundaries of the property designated towards the parish highways known as La Route des Issues and La Rue des Bois, respectively. The Site is moreover delimited as follows, namely: - firstly, by the west face of the granite wall which separates the property designated on its western side from field number 680 on the Map; secondly, by the north face of the section of granite wall which separates the property designated on part of its northern side from field numbered 677 on the said Map, and by the relevant sections of the west and north faces of the outbuildings being the most northerly of those situate to the north of the house forming part of the Site, which outbuildings are situate immediately to the east of the section of granite wall previously mentioned, both towards field numbered 677 and towards land within the field known as La Partie Sud du Petit Jardin; and thirdly, by an

31 Ivy Gate (architectural and historical) The house known as Ivy Gate in the parish of St. John, together with the converted outbuilding to the north of the house and adjoining thereto and the gardens, avenue and appurtenances to the south of the house, the whole forming part of the property to which John Nicholas Baker has right by way of hereditary purchase by a contract dated the 10th September 1982, from the limited liability company known as Dunday Holdings Limited. The Site includes the walls and gables which form the west boundary of the property designated towards the main road known as La Grande Route de St. Jean. The Site is moreover delimited as follows, namely: – firstly, by an imaginary straight line taken from the north-west corner of the north gable of the converted outbuilding forming part of the Site and extended first east then south, following the exterior faces of the north and east gables of the converted outbuilding, as far as the exterior face of the north gable of the house forming part of the Site, whence the imaginary straight line is extended first east, following the exterior face of the north gable of the house, then north, then east, then south, following the exterior faces of the small building attached to the north gable of the house, then further east, following the exterior face of the north gable of the house, as far as the north-east corner of same, whence the line is extended south-east as far as the south-west corner of the section of wooden fencing which separates the gardens forming part of the Site on their northern side from the adjacent property known as The Coach House, whence the line is extended east, following the south face of the aforementioned section of wooden fencing as far as the west face of the bank which separates the property designated on its eastern side from field numbered 1059 on the Map; and secondly, by the west and north faces, respectively, of the banks which separate the gardens forming part of the Site on their eastern and southern sides from field numbered 1059 and from the properly known as Maitland, respectively.

32 London House (architectural, historical and traditional) The house known as London House, together with the outbuildings to the north- west and to the west of the house and the courtyard and gardens or land to the south-west of the house and outbuildings, the whole forming part of the property which was bequeathed to Iris Ada Davey née Le Touzel, widow of Kenneth Malcolm Davey (jointly with her brother Gordon Lewis Le Touzel, now deceased) by her late father, Louis Gordon Le Touzel, under the terms of his will of movable and immovable estate which was registered in the Public Registry of Jersey by an Act of the Royal Court dated the 22nd December 1970, and to which property Louis Gordon Le Touzel had right by way of hereditary purchase by a contract dated the 18th December 1920, from Mary Ann Distin Blampied. outbuilding situate adjacent to the north-west gable of the house, which outbuilding previously served in part as a bake-house and in part as pigsties; secondly, by an imaginary straight line taken from the west corner of the aforementioned outbuilding and extended south-west as far as the north corner of the building which serves as a hen-house, being the most westerly of those outbuildings situate to the west of the house and forming part of the Site, whence the line is extended south-west, following the same alignment as the north-west face of the aforementioned building or hen-house, as far as a point on the north- eastern edge of the brook which runs to the south-west of the Site, which point marks the west corner of the Site; thirdly, by the exterior faces of the south-east gable of the house forming part of the Site and of the section of wall situate immediately to the south-west of the gable and adjoining thereto; and fourthly, by a further imaginary straight line taken from the south corner of the aforementioned section of wall and extended west or thereabouts as far as the east corner of the wall which separates the gardens forming part of the Site on their south-eastern side from the avenue leading to the house designated from the parish highway known as Le Chemin des Hougues, whence the line is extended south-west, following the same alignment as the south-east face of the aforementioned wall, as far as the north-eastern edge of the brook which runs to the south-west of the Site, whence the line is extended north-west following the north-eastern edge of the said brook as far as the west corner of the Site described above.

33 Macpela Cemetery (architectural, cultural and historical) The cemetery known as Macpela Cemetery in the parish of St. John, which was established on land to which the parish of St. John has right by way of hereditary Gift, Cession and Transfer from the Reverend Sydney Norman and others, by a contract passed before the Royal Court on the 15th November 1952. The Site includes the walls which form the north and east boundaries of the premises designated towards the housing development known as Newcastle Close and towards field numbered 1077 on the Map, respectively. The Site is moreover delimited by an imaginary line taken from the south-east corner of the wall forming the east boundary of the premises designated and extended west, following the south face of the wall which separates the Site from both the parish highway known as La Rue des Houguettes and the site of an electricity sub- station, as far as the south-east face of the pillar or notice box which is situate near the south-west corner of the Site at the entrance thereto, whence the imaginary line is extended first south-west then north-west then north-east, following the exterior faces of the aforementioned pillar or notice box, as far as the south-west face of the small section of wall which lies between the pillar or notice box and the gate pillar situate immediately to the east of the entrance, whence the imaginary line is extended north-west as far as the south-east face of the said gate pillar, then south-west as far as the south corner of the said gate pillar, then north-west as far as the west corner of the gate pillar which is situate immediately to the north-west of the entrance to the Site, whence the imaginary line is extended north-east then south-east, following the exterior faces of the latter gate pillar, as far as the west face of the wall which forms the west boundary of the premises designated towards the main road known as La Grande Route de St. Jean, whence the imaginary line is extended north, following the west face of the said wall, as far as the north boundary of the premises designated.

34 La Maison Chesnel (architectural and historical) The house now known as La Maison Chesnel, formerly known as Strangeways, in the parish of St. John, together with the outbuilding annexed to the east gable of the house and the garden or land to the west of the house. The whole forming part of the property to which Lillian Alexander Paul has right as sole heir to the estate of her late mother, Mrs. Elsie Paul née Rebindaine, widow of William Henry Paul, who in turn had right to the property by way of hereditary purchase by a contract dated the 3rd November 1945, from Hedley Francis Pinel. The external limits of the Site are constituted as follows, namely: – firstly, by the exterior faces of the gables and walls which separate the property designated on the west, on the north-west and on the north from the parish highways known as La Rue du Temple and La Ville des Chênes, respectively; secondly, by the exterior faces of the south gables of the house and outbuilding forming part of the Site, by the exterior faces of the east and north gables of the outbuilding forming part of the Site, and by the exterior face of the section of east gable of the house running north from the north-west corner of the outbuilding as far as the north- east corner of the house; and thirdly, by an imaginary straight line taken from the south-west corner of the house forming part of the Site and extended west, following the same alignment as the south face of the south gable of the house, as far as the south-west corner of the section of wall being the most southerly of those which separate the property designated on its western side from the parish highway known as La Rue du Temple.

35 Maitland (architectural and historical) The house known as Maitland, together with the outbuildings to the east of house and the courtyard or avenue, gardens and appurtenances to the north and south of the house; the whole forming part of the property to which Robert Lawrence Benest has right (jointly with his brother Emile Lyndon Benest, now deceased) by virtue of the deed of division of the immovable estate of his late mother, Hilda Grace Benest née Dallain, widow of Emile Benest, which deed was passed before the Royal Court on the 1st March 1958. The Site includes the walls which form the west boundary of the property designated towards the main road known as La Grande Route de St. Jean. The Site is further delimited as follows, namely: – firstly, by an imaginary straight line taken following the east face of the outbuildings being the most easterly of those forming part of the property designated, which line is extended both north as far as the south face of the bank which separates the property designated on its northern side from the property known as Ivy Gate and south until it intersects with the imaginary straight line hereinafter described; secondly, by a further imaginary straight line taken following the south face of the outbuilding being the most southerly of those forming part of the property designated and situate immediately to the east of the gardens to the south of the house, which line is extended both west as far as the west boundary of the property towards the main road and east until it intersects with the imaginary straight line forming the eastern limit of the Site described above; and thirdly, by the south face of the relevant section of bank which forms the north boundary of the property designated towards the property known as Ivy Gate, between the west boundary of the property towards the main road and the imaginary straight line described above forming the eastern limit of the Site.

36 Le Marinel Farm (architectural and historical) The house known as Le Marinel Farm, together with the converted single-storey outbuilding to the east of the house and adjoining thereto, the outbuildings to the north of the house and the driveway, courtyard and gardens dependent thereto; the whole forming part of the property to which Beryl Mavis Vaudin has right as follows: – to an equal half share in the property from her late father John Philip Vaudin, by virtue of the will of immovable estate of the deceased which was registered in the Public Registry of Jersey by an Act of the Royal Court dated the 16th October 1986; and to the remaining half share in the property from her late mother, Olive Madeline Vaudin née Chapman, as only child and sole heir to the estate of the deceased. The Site includes the gable and walls which form the south boundary of the property designated towards the parish highway known as Les Chenolles. The Site is moreover delimited as follows, namely: – firstly, by the exterior faces of the west gable, most westerly, of the house forming part of the Site, of the sections of wall situate immediately to the north and to the south of the west gable of the house and of the west gable of the outbuilding or garage (hereinafter referred to as “outbuilding A”) situate immediately to the north of the most northerly section of wall, which gables and walls separate the Site on its western side from field numbered 563 on the Map; secondly, by the exterior face of the north gable of outbuilding A, by the exterior face of the outbuilding (hereinafter referred to as “outbuilding B”) situate to the east of outbuilding A, and by an imaginary straight line taken from the north-east corner of outbuilding A and extended south-east as far as the north-west corner of outbuilding B; and thirdly, by the exterior faces of the east and south gables of the small outbuilding or pigsty enclosure situate immediately to the east of part of outbuilding B, by the exterior face of the section of east gable of outbuilding B which lies to the south of the pigsty enclosure, by the exterior face of the east gable of the single-storey wing annexed to the house forming part of the Site, and by an imaginary straight line taken from the north- east corner of the said single-storey wing and extended north-west as far as the south-east corner of outbuilding B, the whole towards land within field numbered 562 on the Map.

37 Le Marinel House (architectural, historical and traditional) The house known as Le Marinel House or La Maison du Marinel, together with the surrounding outbuildings and courtyards, the avenue leading north from the property to the parish highway known as Les Chenolles, the lands bearing the field numbers 566 and 565 on the Map situate on either side of the avenue, and the gardens or lands bearing the field numbers 553, 554, 552 and the eastern extremity of field 551 on the said Map. The whole forming part of the property to which Beryl Mavis Vaudin has right both as sole heir to the immovable estate of her late mother Olive Madeline Vaudin, née Chapman, widow of John Philip Vaudin, and as devisee (jointly with her late mother) to the will of immovable estate of her late father, which will was registered in the Public Registry of Jersey by an Act of the Royal Court dated the 16th October 1986. 38 Melbourne House (architectural and historical) The house known as Melbourne House in the parish of St. John, together with the outbuildings, garage, gardens or lands and other appurtenances surrounding the house, the reversionary-ownership of which property was bequeathed to Richard Edwin Knott, Carolyn Edna Knott and Valerie May Knott by their late grandfather, William Edward Charles Knott, under the terms of the will of immovable estate of the deceased which was registered in the Public Registry of Jersey by an Act of the Royal Court dated the 29th November 1994, and to which property the said William Edward Charles Knott had right by way of hereditary purchase by a contract dated the 28th October 1988, from Geoffrey Lumb. The Site is delimited by the exterior faces of the walls which form the south-east, south and south-west boundaries of the property designated towards the parish highways, and by the exterior faces of the walls and gable which form the north and north-east boundaries of the property designated towards the properties known as The Coach House and Kingsbury, respectively.

39 Mourier Valley Cottages (architectural, historical and traditional) The row of 5 cottages, partly in ruin, commonly known as Mourier Valley Cottages in the parish of St. John, together with the outbuilding or wash-house to the south of the cottages and the garden or land to the south and south-east of the cottages and wash-house, the whole forming part of the property to which the limited liability company known as The Jersey New Waterworks Company Limited has right by way of hereditary purchase by 2 contracts, the first dated the 7th July 1939, from Philip Norman Richardson Esquire (part of the third corpus fundi) and the second dated the 22nd July 1939, from John Frederick Masson. The Site is delimited by an imaginary line taken from the north-west corner of the most westerly of the 5 cottages and extended first in an easterly direction, following the same alignment as the north faces of the north gables of the 5 cottages, as far as the west face of the bank which separates the Site on its eastern side from fields numbered 182 and 183 on the Map, whence the imaginary line is extended south then south-east, following the south and south-west faces, respectively, of the banks which separate the property designated on its eastern and north-eastern sides from fields numbered 182 and 183 on the said Map, as far as a point in the south-east corner of the Site where the line meets the northern edge of the brook which runs to the south of the Site; and second in a southerly direction, following the same alignment as the west face of the west gable of the most westerly of the 5 cottages, as far as the northern edge of the brook which

40 Les Noyers (architectural and historical) The house known as Les Noyers in the parish of St. John, together with the cottage and outbuildings to the east of house, the courtyards or avenues to the south of the house, cottage and outbuildings and the gardens or lands and other appurtenances dependent thereto; the whole forming part of the property which the Reverend Michael George St. John Nicolle inherited as sole heir to the estate of his late father Frederick St. John Nicolle, who in turn inherited the property as sole heir to the estate of his late father Frederick George Nicolle, who in turn had right to the property by way of hereditary purchase (part of the first corpus fundi) by a contract dated the 6th October 1900, from Joseph John Hamon. The Site includes the walls and bank which form the south or south-west boundary of the property designated towards the parish highway known as Les Chenolles. The Site is moreover delimited by the south face of the bank which separates the property designated on its northern side from fields numbered 723 and 727 on the Map and by the west face of the bank which separates the property designated on its eastern side from field numbered 729 on the Map.

41 Parish Hall (architectural, cultural and historical) The building which serves as the Parish Hall of St. John, together with the outbuilding to the south-east and the gardens or lands and appurtenances surrounding the building; the whole forming part of the property to which the parish of St. John has right as follows, namely: – firstly, by way of hereditary purchase by a contract dated the 13th July 1901, from Francis Edouard Pinel; secondly, by way of hereditary purchase by a contract dated the 3rd November 1906, from Jean Bisson; and thirdly, by way of hereditary transfer made from the Rector of the parish by a contract dated the 16th June 1900. The Site includes the walls which form the north, north-west and west boundaries of the property designated towards the main road known as La Route des Issues and towards the parish highway known as La Rue des Buttes, respectively. The Site is moreover delimited as follows, namely:– firstly, by the south face of the south gable of the outbuilding forming part of the Site and by the south face of the wall situate immediately to the west of the outbuilding, which gable and wall separate the property designated on its southern side from the playground dependent to the parish school premises; secondly, by an imaginary straight line taken from the south-east corner of the outbuilding forming part of the Site and extended north, following the exterior faces of the east gable of the outbuilding and of the section of granite wall situate immediately to the north thereof, as far as the south gable of the building forming part of the parish school premises situate to the east of the Site, whence the line is extended first west then north, following the exterior faces of the south and west gables of the aforementioned building forming part of the parish school premises, as far as the south gable of the single storey extension forming part of the property known as The School House situate in part to the north of the Site; thirdly, by the exterior faces of the south and west gables of the aforementioned single storey extension, by the exterior faces of the south and west gables of the main house forming part of the

42 Penryn (architectural and historical) The house known as Penryn in the parish of St. John, together with the outbuildings to the south and to the west and the courtyards, gardens or lands, avenue and appurtenances dependent to the house, the whole forming part of the property to which Jennifer Gail Tingey has right as sole devisee to the Will of Realty of the late Dennis Howard Tingey, which will was registered in the Public Registry of Jersey by Act of the Royal Court dated the 22nd October 1998 and to which the late Dennis Howard Tingey had right by way of hereditary purchase by a contract dated the 31st January 1969, from Thomas Priestley Lister. The Site includes the walls and gables which form the east boundary of the property designated towards the parish highway known as La Rue du Bechet ès Cats. The Site is moreover delimited as follows, namely:- firstly, by the exterior face of the north granite gable, at ground level, of the extension to the north of and forming part of the house designated, by the north faces of the sections of granite wall situate to the west and to the east of the said north granite gable and by the exterior face of the north gable of the outbuilding (hereinafter referred to as “outbuilding A”) which is the most easterly of the 2 outbuildings situate to the east of the house and forming part of the Site, and which north gables and walls separate the property designated on its northern side from field numbered 44 on the Map; secondly, by the exterior face of the east gable of outbuilding A, which east gable separates the property designated from land within field number 1203 on the Map; and thirdly, by an imaginary line taken from the south-east corner of outbuilding A and extended west, following the same alignment as the exterior face of the south gable of outbuilding A, as far as the south-east corner of the outbuilding or garage (hereinafter referred to as “outbuilding B”) which is the most northerly of the 2 outbuildings situate to the south-west of the house designated, whence the imaginary line is extended further west then north, following the exterior faces of the south and west gables respectively, of outbuilding B, as far as the boundary of the property designated towards the parish highway.

45 Rosehill (architectural, historical and traditional) The house known as Rosehill, together with the converted outbuilding to the south-west of the house and the courtyards and gardens or lands to the north and to the south of the house, the whole forming part of the property to which Steven William Austin-Vautier and Lynne Austin-Vautier née Vautier, have right by way of hereditary purchase by a contract dated the 15th April 1994, from Michael Charles Cousins Esquire. The Site is moreover delimited as follows, namely: – firstly, by the exterior faces of the west, north and east (by a small piece) gables of the granite outbuildings situate to the west and to the north of the house and cottage forming part of the Site, which gables separate the property designated on its western, northern and eastern (by a small piece) sides from field numbered 448 on the Map; secondly, by an imaginary straight line taken from the north- east corner of the most easterly of the granite outbuildings situate to the north of the house and cottage forming part of the Site and extended east, following the same alignment as the exterior face of the north gable of the most easterly outbuilding, as far as a point where the line intersects with the imaginary straight line hereinafter described; and thirdly, by a further imaginary straight line taken from the south-east corner of the granite wall which separates the property designated on its eastern side from field numbered 449 on the Map, which imaginary straight line is extended north, following the same alignment as the east face of the aforementioned granite wall, as far as a point where the line intersects with the imaginary straight line described immediately above.

48 St. John’s United Reformed Church (architectural, cultural and historical The church now known as St. John’s United Reformed Church, which was previously known as St. John’s Congregational Church or Chapel and also previously known as La Chapelle ou Eglise Indépendante de St. Jean, together with the meeting hall, manse, garage, driveway, courtyards, gardens and appurtenances dependent to the church. To which property the Trustees for and on behalf of St. John’s United Reformed Church (formerly Trustees of L’Eglise Indépendante de St. Jean) have right in part by way of hereditary gift cession and transfer from the Reverend François Perrot by a contract dated the 20th April 1811, and in part by way of hereditary gift from John Elie Le Boutillier by a contract dated the 30th December 1905. 49 Sion Methodist Church (architectural, cultural and historical) The church premises collectively known as Sion Methodist Church in the parish of St. John, including the manse and outbuildings to the west and north of the church and the car parking areas, avenues, gardens or lands and appurtenances dependent thereto. To which premises the Trustees for Jersey Methodist Church Purposes have right by virtue of the Methodist Church (Jersey) Law 1986,17 which provides for the statutory transfer to the Trustees for Jersey Methodist Church Purposes of all property held upon the trusts of the Model Deed of the Methodist Church, and which premises were originally established by the Trustees of the Wesleyan Methodist Church on a certain piece of land within the northern part of the field known as Le Parcq de Bas, which the Trustees purchased from Jean Corbel by a contract dated the 29th November 1879. The Site includes the walls which form the east boundary or thereabouts of the property designated towards the main road known as La Grande Route de St. Jean. The Site is moreover delimited as follows, namely: – firstly, by the north and east faces, respectively, of the banks which separate the property designated on its southern and western sides from fields numbered 1109 and 1108, respectively, on the Map; and secondly, by an imaginary straight line taken following the same alignment as the south faces of the 4 boundary stones which form the north boundary of the property designated towards properties numbered 4, 8 and 9 within the housing development known as La Chaumière, the location of which stones is fully described in a certain contract dated the 23rd May 1997, entered into between the Trustees for Jersey Methodist Church Purposes and the limited liability company known as La Chaumière Holdings Limited, which imaginary straight line is extended both west as far as the western limit of the Site described above and east as far as the eastern limit of the Site towards the main road.

50 La Vallette (architectural, historical and traditional) The house known as La Vallette situate in the parish of St. John, together with the outbuildings, courtyards, gardens or lands surrounding the house and including the avenue leading west from the house to the parish highway known as La Rue des Barraques; the whole forming part of the property which was bequeathed to the Association known as The National Trust for Jersey by the late Philip Le Masurier under the terms of the will of immovable estate of the deceased which was registered in the Public Registry of Jersey by an Act of the Royal Court dated the 30th June 1965. The avenue forming part of the Site is delimited on its southern and northern sides by the north and south faces, respectively, of the banks which lie on either side of the avenue, and on its western side by the eastern limit of the parish highway known as La Rue des Barraques. The Site is moreover delimited by an imaginary straight line taken from the north-east corner of the bank to the south of the avenue forming part of the Site and extended south, following the east face of the bank which separates the property designated from field numbered 824 on the Map, as far as a point which is coextensive to the north face of the granite retaining wall situate on the southern limit of the gardens to the south of the house towards field numbered 825 on the Map, whence the imaginary line is extended east, following the same alignment as the north face of the aforementioned granite retaining wall, as far as a point in the south-east corner of the Site on the east face

The following buildings and appurtenances that form part of The Island Site, namely: – firstly, the building commonly known as The New Station, which previously served as the western railway terminus of the parish of St. Helier and which forms the south-east corner of The Island Site, bordering to the north-east the main road known as The Esplanade and adjoining to the south-east the area known as Liberation Square, to the north-west Excluded Area A, to the south-west the building forming part of The Site which is described secondly below; to which building the Public of this Island has right by way of hereditary purchase from the limited liability company known as Jersey Railways and Tramways Limited by a contract dated the 23rd December 1937 and forming part of the first corpus fundi described within the said contract of purchase; secondly, the triangular shaped building situate immediately to the south-west of the building firstly described and adjoining thereto, which building previously served in part as the Merchants’ Room and Offices and in part as the gentlemen’s latrines dependent to the western railway terminus; which building also formed part of the first corpus fundi purchased by the Public of this Island by the aforementioned contract dated the 23rd December 1937; thirdly, the section of ancient sea wall, together with the single-storey buildings which previously served as slaughterhouses erected against the east-north-east face of the said section of ancient sea wall, and with the land in front, that is between the east-north-east gables of the single-storey buildings and the west- south-west gables of the triangular shaped building described secondly above; the whole adjoining to the east-north-east the triangular shaped building described secondly above, to the north-east Excluded Area A, to the north-north-west and to the west-south-west the covered walkway, ancillary buildings and courtyard forming part of The Site which are described fifthly below and bordering to the south-east Liberation Square; fourthly, the office building known as the Harbour Office, together with the small strip of land in part to the south-west of the building adjacent to the main road known as La Route de la Libération, the whole adjoining to the north-west, to the north-east, by 2 sections and to the south-east, also by 2 sections, the ancillary buildings and courtyard described in fifthly (b) below and bordering in part to the south-west, by 2 sections and to the south-east, also by 2 sections, Liberation Square and to the remainder of the south-west the main road known as La Route de la Libération; fifthly, (a) the collection of warehouses, yards and appurtenances, the greater part of which previously served as a cattle depot and the most north-westerly of which warehouses previously served as piggeries, together with the strip of land which lies to the south-west of the warehouses adjacent to the main road known as La Route de la Libération, the building which previously served as a slaughterhouse hall situate to the north-east of the warehouses and the covered walkway which runs between the slaughterhouse and the warehouses and extends in part to the south-east of the slaughterhouse, in part to the south-east of the warehouses and

in part to the south-east of the building known as Albert House forming part of The Site and which is described sixthly below; the whole adjoining in part to the south-east and to the south-south-east the ancillary buildings described in (b) below, in part to the south-south-east the buildings described thirdly above, in part to the south-east, in part to the south-west and in part to the north-west the building known as Albert House which is described sixthly below, to the north- east Excluded Area A, in part to the north-west, in 2 sections, the sections of screen wall and land forming part of The Site which are described seventhly (a) and (d) below, to the remainder of the north-west Excluded Area B and bordering to the remainder of the south-west the main road known as La Route de la Libération; and (b) the ancillary buildings situate to the south-east and to the south-south-east of the covered walkway and strip of land described in (a) above, together with the courtyard situate to the south-east, to the south-west and to the north-east of the said ancillary buildings, to the west-south-west of the section of ancient sea wall described thirdly above and to the north-east and to the south- east of the Harbour Office described fourthly above, the whole adjoining to the north-north-west and to the north-west the covered walkway and strip of land described in (a) above, to the east-north-east the section of ancient sea wall described thirdly above, to the south-east, to the south-west, in 2 sections and to the north-west, also in 2 sections the Harbour Office described fourthly above and bordering to the south-west the main road known as La Route de la Libération and to the south or thereabouts Liberation Square; sixthly, the building known as Albert House and which previously served as the Cattle Inspector’s House, together with the strip of land to the south-west of the building adjacent to the main road known as La Route de la Libération, the whole bordering to the south-west the main road known as La Route de la Libération and adjoining on all other sides the hereditaments described in fifthly (a) above; and seventhly, (a) a screen wall running from the south-west corner of the piggeries forming part of the buildings described in fifthly (a) above north-west for a short distance then turning in a curve to run northwards along the western boundary of The Site as far as The Esplanade and finishing in a curve at the north-western corner of The Site; bordering to the south-east excluded Area A, to the east Excluded Area A, the western end of the granite wall described in (b) below, and Excluded Area B, to the north-east Excluded Area B, to the north-west and west the public highway (now pedestrianised) running from The Esplanade to La Route de la Liberation and to the south-west the strip of land described in (d) below; (b) a granite wall running from the north-west corner of the slaughter house forming part of the buildings described in fifthly (a) above north-west until it joins the eastern face of the screen wall described in seventhly (a) above; bordering to the north-east Excluded Area A and to the south-west Excluded Area B, and adjoining to the south-east the said piggeries and on the north-west the said screen wall; (c) a World War II gun emplacement constructed within the northern extremity of the screen wall described in seventhly (a) above; and (d) a small strip of land to the south-west of the south-western stretch of the screen wall described in seventhly (a) above; adjoining to the north-east the said screen wall and to the south-west La Route de la Liberation. The Site is indicated by shading and (in terms of its external limits) by the annotations shown on the Plan.
