Introduction Braconinae is a large subfamily of cyclostomes group of parasitic wasps in the family Braconidae (Hymenoptera: Ichneumonoidea). They constitute more than 2900 described species that are mostly tropical and subtropical (YU et al. 2012). Members of this subfamily are often black, red, orange and/or white in colours. They are small to medium-sized insects, characterized by their concave labrum, absence of epicnemial carina, absence of occipital carina, females have extended ovipositor (SHARKEY 1993). -

Pröse Abstract: Five species are added to the list of Bavarian microlepidoptera: Ectoedemia amani, Bryotropha domestica, Endothenia pullana, Barbara herrichiana, and Grapholita molesta. Another 11 species having not been reported for at least 50 years and three other Bavarian species of special interest are dealt with. The taxonomic relationship between Eucosma scutana (Constant, 1893) and E. parvulana (Wilkinson, 1859) is discussed. These species realized a reduction in the populations of S. pilleriana by 6.58%. Of those, the greatest importance is held by Brachymeria intermedia as a primary pupal parasitoid (3.6%), and by Colpoclypeus florus as a primary larva parasitoid (1.6%). All of the host-parasitoid relationships are new for Romania. A case of multiple parasitism was recorded as well when a female of Elasmus viridiceps parasitized with a female of Colpoclypeus florus, a mature larva of S. pilleriana. Baixeras SUMMARY Present state of knowledge of the family Tortricidae Latreille, 1803, in Catalonia (Lepidoptera). In this paper a provisional catalogue of the Tortricidae of Catalonia is presented. At the same time new data are reported and the origin of the records and their possible interest is discussed. Key words: Lepidoptera; Tortrieidae; faunistics; check list; Catalonia. Joaquín Baixeras Almela, Departament de Biologia Animal, Biologia Cel.lular i Parasitologia. Facultat de Biologia, Universitat de Valencia, Dr. Moliner, 50, 46100 Burjassot. Valencia. -

A Study on the Braconidae (Hymenoptera: Ichneumonoidea) from West Azarbaijan Province, Northwestern Iran

DAVIDIAN Abstract: This paper deals with the fauna of the family Braconidae (Hymenoptera) from West Azarbaijan province (northwestern Iran). In total 29 species from 8 subfamilies Agathidinae (2), Alysiinae (3), Aphidiinae (6), Braconinae (3), Doryctinae (4), Hormiinae (2), Microgastrinae (7), Rogadinae (2) were collected. Key words: Hymenoptera, Braconidae, West Azarbaijan, Fauna, Iran. Introduction Braconid wasps (Hymenoptera: Ichneumonoidea: Braconidae) are one of the powerful biological control agents whose importance in decreasing the pests population density has been well proved (WHARTON 1993; GHAHARI et al. 2006). The Iranian Braconidae were studied rather well in recent years (see GHAHARI et al. 2009a, b, c, d, 2010; FALLAHZADEH & SAGHAEI (2010), but Iran is a large country with various geographical regions and climates, and therefore conducting the faunistic surveys in different provinces is necessary for establishing the full species composition of the family. In this paper, the fauna of West Azarbaijan province (located in North West of Iran, bordering with Turkey, Iraq and Armenia, and the provinces of East Azarbaijan, Zanjan and Kurdistan) is dealt with. It covers an area of 43,660 km², and the climate is largely influenced by the rainy winds of the Atlantic Ocean and Mediterranean. According to existing meteorological data, local temperatures vary within the province. The highest temperature reaches 34 °C in July, and the lowest temperature is -16 °C in January.
