Profile Summary:

Mr. Girish B N has a rich teaching experience of 20 years handling various UG and PG courses and has also been a visiting faculty at Prestigious Institutions. He is currently working as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Commerce and Management, Government First Grade College, Frazer Town, Bangalore and a member of the Syllabus Review Committee for UG/PG courses of Department of Commerce, Bangalore University and Bangalore Central University

He is pursuing his Doctoral Research in the area of Indian Financial Markets at St. Joseph’s Research Centre affiliated to Department of commerce, Bangalore University

He has successfully completed a short term course on Applied Financial Modelling conducted by Indian Institute of Technology-Hyderabad in association with Deaking University of Australia and has qualified at several NCFM Modules on Financial Markets conducted by National Stock Exchange

His areas of interests are applications of financial econometrics particularly option pricing models, non-linear modelling and stochastic volatility modelling

He has attended several econometric workshops organised by IIT’S and Indian Econometric society(TIES) and has participated and presented papers in National and International Conferences and has published a number of empirical research papers in UGC accredited National and International Journals and has won several best paper awards. He is the recipient of the prestigious O R Krishnaswami Award for Best Paper in Finance at International Conference on Global Entrepreneurship organized jointly by Lincoln University, Malaysia and Bangalore University and CIMA-USA Best Paper Award at ICCBL-2019 by Christ University.

Recently one of his research papers on Pre-Market Price Behavior of Indian Stock Markets was selected to be presented at National Institute of Securities Market. (NISM-SEBI) Mumbai.
