Since the beginning of the customer racing program in 2009 the brand has already won the endurance classic five times with the GT3 sports car Audi R8 LMS. No other manufacturer was as successful in this era. “We have succeeded in shaping an era at the Nürburgring in just over a decade. At our twelfth start we now want to fight for our sixth overall victory,” says Chris Reinke, Head of Audi Sport customer racing. Like last year, the long-standing Audi Sport customer teams Car Collection Motorsport, Land-Motorsport and Phoenix Racing, together with the team from Audi Sport customer racing, are each entrusted with the deployment of one R8 LMS. In addition, the brand expects further entries by private teams in various classes. A total of twelve experienced professional drivers who compete for Audi in DTM, Formula E and customer racing share the three cockpits.

    Audi Sport Team Land gewinnt das 45. ADAC 24h-Rennen am Nürburgring 28.05.2017 - Nordschleife. Erster Gesamtsieg beim legendären 24h-Rennen für Land-Motorsport. Das Audi Sport Team Land schreibt in der 45. Auflage des Langstreckenklassikers einen neuen Eifelkrimi mit Happy End. Connor De Phillippi/Christopher Mies/Markus Winkelhock und Kelvin van der Linde verlieren 90 Minuten vor Schluss die Führung im Audi R8 LMS mit der Startnummer 29 und erobern sich in der letzten Runde ihre Spitzenposition zurück. Das Schwesterauto mit der Startnummer 28 (De Phillippi/Mies/Kaffer/Haase) muss das Rennen vorzeitig in der Box beenden. Mit einer Bestzeit für die Startnummer 29 (De Phillippi/Mies/Winkelhock/van der Linde) begann der Auftakt zum 45. ADAC 24h-Rennen beim Training am Donnerstag. Kelvin van der Linde war mit 8:19,066 der schnellste Pilot im Starterfeld. Die Startnummer 28 (De Phillippi/Mies/Haase/Kaffer) belegte mit einer 8:27.955 die achte Position. Im folgenden ersten Qualifying standen für das Team Audi Sport Team Land die Plätze 4 (#29) und 19 (#28) auf dem Zeitenmonitor. Zwölf Plätze waren noch für die Teilnahme am Top-30- Qualifying zu vergeben. Die Startnummer 28 hatte sich bereits im Qualifikationsrennen (22.- 23. April 2017) die blaue Lampe gesichert, mit der die 30 schnellsten Fahrzeuge im Starterfeld ausgestattet werden. Und auch die Startnummer 29 konnte sich mit einem sechsten Platz im kombinierten Qualifying-Ergebnis vor dem 24h-Rennen die blaue Lampe sichern. Die Startpositionen für das Einzelzeitfahren wurden traditionsgemäß wieder am Freitag ausgelost. Beim abendlichen Top-30-Qualifying im Sprint um die Pole-Position war Connor De Phillippi im Cockpit der Startnummer 29 lange Zeit mit seiner Rundenzeit von 8.16,102 Minuten führend, musste sich am Ende jedoch um 0,675 Sekunden denkbar knapp geschlagen geben.

In the Fanatec GT World Challenge Europe powered by AWS, Dries Vanthoor/Charles Weerts remain championship leaders while Gregory Guilvert/Fabien Michal extended their lead in the GT4 European Series. The Audi RS 3 LMS completes an outstanding weekend record with victories in five championships. Audi R8 LMS GT3 Strong one-two victory at the season opener at Monza: The DTM started into a new era with GT3 sports cars in Italy and Audi is among the winners with the R8 LMS from the very beginning. On his 25th birthday, Audi Sport driver Kelvin van der Linde was unbeatable on the high-speed circuit at Monza on race Sunday. Already in qualifying, the South African from Team ABT Sportsline proved his class with a best time in the Audi R8 LMS – the five brands in the top six positions were separated by just 0.248 seconds. On his fastest lap, van der Linde benefited, among other things, from a slipstream that brand colleague Nico Müller from Team Rosberg had given him.     ABT Sportsline 2021 – Press Release Week 33 70th victory for Team ABT Sportsline in the DTM Kelvin van der Linde has given Team ABT Sportsline its 70th victory in the DTM. Following his victories at Monza and Zolder, the championship leader also won Saturday’s race at the Nürburgring. After the first half of the season, the South African, who lives near Kempten, has a 33-point lead in the drivers’ championship. In the teams’ championship, ABT Sportsline is also at the top of the table after the first half of the 2021 DTM season. Saturday was a picture-perfect day for ABT Sportsline: Kelvin van der Linde secured pole position for the third time this season with a perfect qualifying lap and then celebrated a commanding victory. On the way, he only had to shake twice when late stoppers Timo Glock and Alex Albon put up a massive fight against the ABT driver. The South African stayed cool, grabbed the two opponents and, after crossing the finish line, ordered an ice cream from SAT.1 commentator Eddy Mielke, which was promptly served to him by colleague Andrea Kaiser at the podium ceremony. Walter Kolb accepted the trophy for the winning team. The 73-year-old pensioner from Isny had auctioned a seat at the pit stand of ABT Sportsline for the race at the Nürburgring by donating 6,000 Euros for the victims of the flood disaster in the region. The DTM was the first race event after the flood at the Nürburgring. Before the start of the race, children affected by the flood had visited the ABT Sportsline pit and were even allowed to hold the steering wheel of the eventual winning car in their hands before the race.

    ABT Sportsline 2021 – Press Release CW 17 Striking design and strong partners ABT Sportsline ready for official DTM test The countdown to the start of the new DTM season begins with the last official and joint test days at the Lausitzring next week. ABT Sportsline will be running three Audi R8 LMS cars and, together with strong partners, has perfectly positioned itself for the next chapter in the company’s successful DTM history. The race cars of Sophia Flörsch, Kelvin van der Linde and Mike Rockenfeller will be given a striking design that will be instantly recognisable to all of the fans at the track and in front of the television. “We are proud that so many partners are accompanying us on our comeback as a private team in the DTM,” says Harry Unflath, who as Head of Sports Marketing at ABT Sportsline is responsible for marketing all of the motorsport activities of the team from Allgäu. “Together with our partners, engineers, mechanics, drivers and fans, we have a strong package for the DTM. Now, of course, we want to repay the trust placed in us with strong performances and plenty of action off the track as well.” The decision in favour of the Audi R8 LMS as the race car for the DTM entry was a logical one: ABT has been involved in motorsport with the four rings in a wide variety of categories since the early 1990s. “Audi and ABT have a successful history together that has lasted for more than three decades,” says Harry Unflath. “We are now looking forward to the new commitment and support from Audi Sport customer racing.” Most striking is the appearance of automotive and industrial supplier Schaeffler, which makes Sophia Flörsch’s entry possible and its colors dominate the design of the 20-year-old German’s Audi R8 LMS.
