In the original novel Duval was Blanche's lover and was murdered when he was made head of the business rather than Jean renamed Jacques in the film. This scene was not included in the final film and Duval's case is not mentioned. Goofs The Delahaye MS Cabriolet belonging to Jean is made in France and has Paris plates but the steering wheel is on the right, indicating an export model for England or other countries that drive on the left.
