Thus, here at Holy Family, all indoor events on our parish campus will require all participants to wear a face covering, regardless of vaccination status. This includes Masses, confessions, Adoration, private prayer in the church, classes, meetings, office appointments, and all other events. We will keep this policy in place until Orange County once again lifts the face covering mandate. Our weekend Mass schedule will remain the same other than the requirement to wear a face covering at all Masses. Although this change in policy is inconvenient for all of us and uncomfortable for many of us, let us together offer up this sacrifice to the Lord and ask Him for an end to the coronavirus pandemic and the protection of those we love. By studying these old hymn books, one can trace the development as hymns as we know them today - from single line chant; to chant melodies harmonized in block harmony; and finally, four vocal parts written on two staves. “Melody only” versions were often published for the congregation, but it was also common to print “SA,” two part hymnals.
