What is the eLearning High School Summer Program? The eLearning High School Summer Program is a program that allows students to earn high school course credit. The program is held in a digital format where students are required to attend synchronous (live) instruction scheduled through Microsoft Teams a minimum of two days per week. Students are also required to independently complete asynchronous (self-directed) digital learning modules at the direction of their teacher.

Who is eligible for the eLearning Summer Program? Recovery Credit Courses: current high school students who need to recover a course credit.

Original Credit Courses: current high school students who would like to earn original course credit.

When does the eLearning Summer Program take place? July 6, 2020 – July 30, 2020 Monday – Thursday Synchronous instruction and office hours will not occur on Fridays

Students are expected to participate in a minimum of two synchronous sessions a week and independently work on course content throughout the course of the eLearning Summer Program.

What is the cost of the program and how do I submit payment? Tuition is collected through MySchoolBucks and is due by June 25, 2020.

How do I register?

1. HCPS eLearning High School Summer Program Site Coordinators will contact students and families who are eligible for program via phone. 2. Complete the HCPS eLearning High School Summer Program Registration Form. The Summer Program Site Coordinators will send the registration form to the email address on file. 3. Once the registration form is received, an email will be sent confirming your registration is complete. This may take 2-3 business days. 4. Summer eLearning Teachers will contact each student and parent/guardian registered for the course via email between June 29-July 1, 2020. At this time, teachers will discuss course requirements. 5. Registration begins May 18, 2020 and ends June 12, 2020. 6. How will I contact my child’s teacher and/or the HCPS eLearning High School Summer Learning Coordinator? Student progress is communicated to parents weekly via email. Any concerns should be directed to the summer eLearning teacher then to the respective Site Coordinator, Mathematics/Science/Physical Education Coordinator- [email protected] or English/Social Studies Coordinator- [email protected]

What will instruction look like for my child? Each course listed above is offered through a combination of teacher instructed and self- directed eLearning. All classes will be led by a content certified teacher, who will deliver synchronous instruction at least twice a week. For the remainder of the time, students are expected to independently participate in self-directed digital learning.
