OAKLAND NOTES • The Oakland A’s had their three-game winning streak snapped…are 12-18 (.400) against American League West teams…finished the seven-game homestand 4-3 against Toronto (1-2) and Texas (3-1). • Trevor Cahill has allowed at least one home run in each of his last nine starts (15 home runs total) and has yielded 25 round trippers on the season, which are the most home runs allowed by a rookie in Oakland history passing John Wasdin (24 hr in 1996)…19 of his 25 home runs have been hit by left-handed hitters, which are the most allowed by an A’s since Rick Langford also allowed 19 in 1982…is 1-6 with an 8.19 ERA (37 er in 40.2 ip) and .333 (56 for 168) opponents average over his last eight starts (since June 27). • Nomar Garciaparra (1 for 4) is a .385 (102 for 265) career hitter against Texas, the third best mark ever against the Rangers. • Tommy Everidge (1 for 4) has started each of the A’s 10 games since being called up July 28…has reached base via hit or walk in all 10 games. • Mark Ellis (0 for 4) had his season-high 10-game hitting streak snapped and is now batting .341 (15 for 44) with a home run, six doubles, nine RBI and 10 runs scored over his last 11 games.
