Bikers’ Gourmet Safari

Embark on a journey of Flavours thrills with “SPEED” and “CULINARY SURPRISES”

TAMARIND HILL is pleased to present the Bikers’ Gourmet Safari, a weekend culinary and travel adventure exclusively created in conjunction with World Gourmet Summit 2016. Held from 22nd to 24th April, the safari will bring those with a hunger for adventure and a passion for good, unpretentious food across the border to explore the flavours Peninsular ’s southernmost states of and Melaka.

Bikers have the option to rent BMW R1200 GS motorbikes or to travel on their own motorbikes, with the option also to travel solo or to include a pillion rider of their own.

There are also two packages to choose from. The first includes a one night’s stay on 22 April at the newly opened VILLA SAMADHI Singapore as well as A Royal Thai Banquet at Tamarind Hill on the same night to kick off the adventure. This dinner is a rare opportunity to dine on age-old royal recipes that have graced Thai palaces for centuries.

The next morning, bikers leave Singapore for the historic city and UNESCO World Heritage site of Melaka, 260km away but make several pit stops. The first stop is 40km away at where homemade steamed bao await at Wee Hoi Kopitiam. Next, a relaxing ride of 30km takes bikers to the town of Pontian for the famous wonton noodles. With family recipes handed down over the generations, compare it at several renown eateries before deciding who takes the crown! Moving on to , more Southern delights beckon at Banang Hawker Centre including roti canai, Indian rojak, the humble kaya toast and silky half boiled eggs of every Malaysian childhood. The free and easy journey continues to Parit Jawa, a small fishing village for fresh seafood before moving on to , home of Otah-otah made from spiced seafood in coconut leaves grilled over an open flame. A pit stop in Melaka with a traditional Nyonya dinner and a night at the grand Majestic Hotel ends the first leg of the adventure.

On the second day, bikers take a leisurely ride to Baru for traditional Cantonese cooking before heading a short 30km to for the meaty goodness of Jia Jia Bak Kut Teh and slippery beef noodles in Kuang Fei. The third stop is about 100km away for traditional Foochow cuisine before one last push to in Johor fro fresh roast duck infused with dang gui herb.
