............................................................................................................. 57 History ..................................................................................................................... 58 3 Welcome to the 5th Austria eXtreme Triathlon 2019 It will change your life! It’s a small anniversary – on the 22nd of June 2019 the Austria eXtreme Triathlon will take place for the 5th time. The proven format of one of the world's toughest long-distance events will take you from the river landscape near Graz up to the alpine regions of Dachstein. And that over more than 230 km distance and more than 5,800 m difference in altitude. The present Stroßnbuach (roadbook) is your companion, with detailed information and maps of the route as well as the transition and danger zones, drinking water stations and parking areas. You will also find the exact sequence from the briefing on Friday to the award ceremony on Sunday. Please read the information carefully! At the Austria eXtreme Triathlon, the focus is on the simplicity and roughness of the original triathlon. And that both on a large scale – in the quiet atmosphere away from the noise of major events –, as well as on a small scale – in a triathlon you run without poles (the use of poles is therefore prohibited). Accordingly, we expect from all athletes and supporters a respectful and fair togetherness, a mindful approach to nature and in emergency cases, the obvious help. With a route over several mountain passes and mountain trails, it also means staying flexible. Therefore, also pay attention to short-term information, if we have to react to changed conditions along the route! The organizing team wishes you all a sporty, exciting, unforgettable, emotional, friendly and above all accident-free Austria eXtreme Triathlon. Antonia Fleischhacker The lichenicolous fungi invading Xanthoria parietina Magisterarbeit zur Erlangung des akademischen Grades einer Magistra an der Naturwissenschaftlichen Fakultät der Karl-Franzens-Universität Graz Begutachter: Ao.Univ.-Prof. Mag.rer.nat. Dr.phil. Josef Hafellner Institut für Pflanzenwissenschaften Bereich Systematische Botanik und Geobotanik Graz, November 2011 Joy in looking and comprehending is nature's most beautiful gift. (Albert Einstein) Abstract: Fleischhacker Antonia 2011. The lichenicolous fungi invading Xanthoria parietina . Due to nitrogen pollution Xanthoria parietina is a vastly spreading macrolichen at least in Europe. Therefore the thallus surface area available for infection by lichenicolous fungi is dramatically increased. Based mainly on Central European material the diversity of lichenicolous fungi invading either thalli and/or ascomata of X. parietina has been investigated. The aim of the study was to present a comprehensive treatment of the mycoflora living on this host. So far 32 species are known to be able to live on X. parietina , placing this common macrolichen among the lichen species with an astonishingly rich fungus flora. Various fungal orders contribute one to several members to the xanthoriicolous fungus diversity (number of affiliated taxa in brackets): Pleosporales (5), Capnodiales (4), Hypocreales (4), Arthoniales (3), Verrucariales (3), Lecanorales (1), Dothideales (1), Atheliales (1), Tremellales (1), Corticiales (1), Liceales (1) and further anamorphic fungi (7). Five taxa exhibit a narrow host spectrum and appear to be restricted to the Xanthoria parietina group, six species appear to be host-specific at the family level. Fifteen species are obligately lichenicolous fungi with a broad host spectrum, whereas six taxa are facultatively lichenicolous, hence more than 60 percent belong to the omnivorous element.

The new River Enns Content 05 | Introduction 07 | Description of the area 08 | The history 10 | The project 12 | Natura2000 species and habitats 16 | The measures 24 | Popular opinion 25 | Many helped 26 | Contact Introduction Together for the River Enns The LIFE+ project “River Landscape Enns” aims to recreate natural alluvial forest and river landscape features and to de- velop new habitat types in the Enns valley. It has reconnected two old meanders and widened the River Enns, whilst also se- curing and regenerating the natural alluvial forests. This is to the benefit not only of Mother Nature but also of people living in the Enns valley. “River Landscape Enns” constitutes an impressive example of just how possible it is to reconcile differing objectives. The pro- ject improves local people’s safety and creates more space for nature and recreation. The river is undergoing ecological improvement in accordance with the EU Water Framework Directive whilst, at the same time, flood protection for local people is strengthened. Cooperation between the local project partners, the organisations respon- sible for the project and the participating municipalities enables the creation of attractive natural and recreational areas. Additi- onally, the implemented measures provide an important contri- bution to the conservation of habitats and species protected under European law. We offer our heartfelt thanks to everyone who has contributed to the success of the project and wish you all necessary strength for the tasks ahead. ANDRÄ RUPPRECHTER JOHANN

Dr. Andreas Opelt Olivia Klemmer 0612999 Vienna, 01.06.2019 Affidavit I, Olivia Klemmer, hereby declare 1. that I am the sole author of the present Master’s Thesis, "Digitalisation potential analysis for sustainable waste management”, 62 pages, bound, and that I have not used any source or tool other than those referenced or any other illicit aid or tool, and 2. that I have not prior to this date submitted this Master’s Thesis as an examination paper in any form in Austria or abroad. Vienna, 25.05.2019 Signature Abstract The following thesis aims to assess the inherent potential that cyber-physical systems hold in creating a more sustainable management of waste. For this reason, an upscaling model is derived in which the possible ecological as well as economical changes brought about by two localized Industry 4.0 projects are upscaled onto a larger region. Industrial Revolutions are commonly associated with developments in urban areas. Despite affecting the society as a whole, their impact on rural regions is not often subject of research. Nevertheless, innovations of both pioneer projects have been tested in rural municipalities, providing an interesting research setting, primarily as a result of its relative obscurity.
