It’s like living in the Cotswolds with all these stone villages in the area.” Nearby Deene Park is a country manor five miles north of Corby which has been the Brudenell family seat since 1514; seven of the Brudenell family were Earls of Cardigan — the most notable being the 7th Earl who led the Charge of the Light Brigade at the Battle of Balaclava. Deene Park estate, on which Deenethorpe sat, was given to the parish for development in 1996, with this house being built in 1998 out of local Collyweston stone with double-glazed timber windows. The house is extremely well maintained and immaculately presented. “We’ve made no changes to the property, just decorated it in a modern contemporary style,” say the owners. “We’ve used Farrow & Ball paint on all the exterior and applied Brian Yates Minerals wallpaper in the hallway, Osborne & Little wallpaper in the downstairs cloakroom, and Zoffany Mosaic wallpaper in the dining room. We spent a lot of time looking for the perfect light fittings and went with Catellani & Smith copper lights.” The house is well appointed, the first floor has four generous double bedrooms, two en suites and a family bathroom. Downstairs, the spacious living room has a beautiful Rudloe stone fireplace, and French doors onto the garden. As well as a study and a good sized dining room, there is a kitchen which opens into a dual aspect breakfast room that also benefits from French doors onto the paved terrace at the back, perfect for alfresco dining. Tucked away in the corner behind the integral double garage is a useful timber garden shed, and the oil tank for the central heating. “We are only two and a half miles from the village of Weldon which has a primary school, a shop with a post office, two pubs, a petrol station and a village hall. Stamford is approximately 10 minutes away and Corby is just a few miles. The train from Corby takes circa an hour to London St Pancras. Oundle is only six miles away too,” inform the owners. “The local residents are lovely, they all look out for each other, and there are regular bar nights, summer festivals and clay pigeon shooting events throughout the year. Appendices Appendix 1 - Draft Terms of Reference for the review. 1.0 Background 1.1 On 22 July 2019 Council considered the receipt of a valid petition from registered electors in the Deene and Deenethorpe area of the District. It requested the overall number of councillors be increased from 6 to 7 councillors and that all 7 councillors represent the whole of the parish area. This request would require the existing wards of Deene and Deenthorpe to be removed, leaving a single parish area. The Council noted that a review of arrangements within the Deene and Deenethorpe Parish area would now take place and that the Terms of Reference, for this review, would be brought to this meeting. 1.2 The request petition was signed by 44.6% of the electors in the Deene and Deenthorpe area, the threshold being 37.5%. The proposed new single parish area would comprise 86 properties with a current electorate of 168. 1.3 The process for the creation, amendment or deletion of a parish is known as a Community Governance Review and is set out in Section 81 of the Local Government and Public Involvement in Health Act 2007.     Agenda Item 12 Council – 15th October 2018 Tresham Garden Village – Masterplan and Delivery Strategy Purpose of report The purpose of this report is to consider the Masterplan and Delivery Strategy (MDS) for Tresham Garden Village (TGV). The draft MDS is provided at Appendix 1. A member site visit was undertaken on 20th September 2018. The Tresham Garden Village Project Board endorsed the draft MDS at its meeting on 13th September 2018. It is recommended that the MDS should be agreed by the Council, with delegated authority given for agreement of final edits and revisions as technical work is completed. Agreement of the MDS will pave the way for the submission of a planning application for TGV. 1.0 Background 1.1 Deenethorpe Airfield is owned by the Deene Estate. For over a decade, the Estate and its development partner Land Acquisitions and Promotions (the “promoters”) have championed a vision for a new village at the airfield, with exemplary standards of infrastructure and design. An enabling policy (Policy 14) in the North Northamptonshire Joint Core Strategy (JCS) was supported by this Council and endorsed by the JCS Planning Inspector. The JCS was adopted in July 2016. Policy 14 sets out the criteria that must be met for the proposal (now known as Tresham Garden Village) to be acceptable and requires this to be tested through the preparation of a master plan and delivery strategy (MDS). 1.2 The Tresham Garden Village (TGV) Project Board, comprising elected members from the district, county and parish councils, has worked with the Deene Estate and promoters to shape and test the proposals.
