“I am the bread of life; whoever comes to me will never hunger, and whoever believes in me will never thirst.” John 6:35

From the Pastor’s Desk the Eucharist it is hunger. We hunger for a love that does not disappoint, for a Word that does not fade away. We hunger for After the feeding of the multitudes in last Sunday’s Gospel, the a Bread that does not fail to satisfy. In the Eucharist the love of a disciples leave in a boat and Jesus follows them. The crowd tender God is offered to us in Word and Sacrament. The second notices the departure of Jesus and discern where he has gone. Vatican Council emphasized this great truth when it declared In the dialogue that develops between Jesus and the crowds, that the Church “never ceases to partake of the Bread of Life Jesus unfolds for them, and for us, the Gift of Himself that he and to offer it to the Faithful from the One Table of the Word of gives in the Eucharist. The crowds make reference to Moses and God and the Body of Christ” (Constitution on the Sacred Liturgy, ask Jesus for a recognizable sign that he was sent from God, December 1963). In our Sunday Gathering at St. Francis, we are just as Moses did by giving their ancestors Manna in the Desert. nourished by God’s Word and the Bread of Life.
