So far, 2019 is proving to be another record year for AMBA, with us having recently recruited our 45,000th student and graduate member and accredited our 268th Business School. Our Accreditation Forum is designed to support AMBA accredited Schools in preparing for their re-accreditation as well as candidate Schools hoping to join the prestigious AMBA-accredited Business School network. The programme includes cutting-edge and best practice ideas and insights for you to learn from, in addition to networking opportunities through which you can discuss and exchange accreditation-related experiences and ideas with executives from other leading Business Schools around the world. Since last year’s forum in Grenoble, France, the AMBA & BGA School networks have grown significantly, and we are proud to have announced earlier this year that we will be limiting the AMBA network to an exclusive number of 300 Schools. The Business Graduates Association (BGA) launched in January 2019 and more than 75 Schools have already joined the BGA network as members. It’s worth noting that for existing AMBA Schools, AMBA re-accreditation can be combined with BGA accreditation during the same visit and we were delighted to accredit our first BGA School in this way, in June. I would also like to express our thanks to our generous hosts, BI Norwegian Business School and to our partner, Peregrine Global Services. It is their support which has enabled us to organise a high-quality event reflecting AMBA & BGA’s global standards, at such a reasonable cost. Thank you for taking the time to join us in this beautiful region of Norway and I hope that you will enjoy this year’s Accreditation Forum. Andrew Main Wilson CEO, AMBA & BGA 4 ACCREDITATION FORUM 2019 PROGRAMME SCHEDULE 30 September – 1 October | Oslo, Norway | #AMBA19 MONDAY 30 SEPTEMBER 14.00 – 16.30 Pre-forum workshop: Integrating world news and current affairs into the classroom – inspiring students to engage in critical thinking 19.00 – 22.30 (including Networking dinner at Mirabel travel time) TUESDAY 1 OCTOBER 09.15 – 09.45 Registration and networking 09.45 – 10.00 Welcome and introduction 10.00 – 11.00 SESSION 1: Understanding the AMBA accreditation process 11.00 – 11.30 Networking and refreshment break 11.30 – 12.30 SESSION 2: Maximising your chances of success – the assessors’ perspectives 12.30 – 13.00 SESSION 3: Integrating world news and current affairs into the classroom – case studies from around the world 13.00 – 14.00 Networking lunch 14.00 – 15.00 SESSION 4: The accreditation journey for Business Schools 15.00 – 15.45 SESSION 5: The Business Graduates Association 15.45 – 16.15 Networking and refreshment break 16.15 – 17.15 SESSION 6: Managing multiple accreditations and rankings Please note the programme timings and speakers are subject to change ACCREDITATION FORUM 2019 5 MONDAY 30 SEPTEMBER 14.00 – 16.30 Pre-forum workshop: Integrating world news and current affairs into the classroom – inspiring students to engage in critical thinking 19.00 – 22.30 (including Networking dinner at Mirabel travel time) TUESDAY 1 OCTOBER 09.15 – 09.45 Registration and networking 09.45 – 10.00 Welcome and introduction 10.00 – 11.00 SESSION 1: Understanding the AMBA accreditation process 11.00 – 11.30 Networking and refreshment break 11.30 – 12.30 SESSION 2: Maximising your chances of success – the assessors’ perspectives 12.30 – 13.00 SESSION 3: Integrating world news and current affairs into the classroom – case studies from around the world 13.00 – 14.00 Networking lunch 14.00 – 15.00 SESSION 4: The accreditation journey for Business Schools 15.00 – 15.45 SESSION 5: The Business Graduates Association 15.45 – 16.15 Networking and refreshment break 16.15 – 17.15 SESSION 6: Managing multiple accreditations and rankings 6 ACCREDITATION FORUM 2019 SESSION CONTENT PRE-FORUM WORKSHOP Integrating world news and current affairs into the classroom – inspiring students to engage in critical thinking This pre-forum workshop will take place on Monday 30 September from 14:00 to 16:30 and will be run by higher education thought partner, Peregrine Global Services.
