ATHENS PLAZA Konstantinos Tsegas General Secretary, Greek National Tourism Organisation Supreme Court Lawyer Mr. Konstantinos Tsegas has been appointed as the new Secretary General of the Greek National Tourism Organisation. Mr. Tsegas has a solid background as a legal advisor within the tourism and hotel industry and he has amassed a vast knowledge, acting on tourism and trading company’s legal matters. Mr. Tsegas has a highly specialized experience and expertise in the field of public sector procurements and tenders, legal strategy and advice, as well as international commercial agreements. His official appointment by the Tourism Minister Mrs Elena Kountoura was published in the Greek Government Gazette no. 284/Υ.Ο.Δ.Δ./2017. Frank Püttmann Head of Public Policy, TUI Group, Corporate Office Berlin Frank Püttmann is the Head of Public Policy in TUI Group and part of Group Corporate & External Affairs. He also heads the Group’s Berlin Corporate Office. With his team, he manages TUI’s corporate public policies, the Group’s industry association memberships and engages with the embassies and representatives of TUI’s global destination partners in the German Capital. Since working for the Group, Frank has been very active to develop the innovative corporate digital public policy strategy for TUI as a tourism industry market leader: www.politiklounge.com. Frank has been with the TUI Group since 2014. Before joining TUI he worked for the largest European Airline Group Deutsche Lufthansa AG as their Head of Group Communications Asia Pacific. Frank lived with his family in Singapore from 2008 to 2014. He gained international experience as an expert in the travel industry and in public affairs. Frank Püttmann holds a master’s degree from the University of St Andrews in Scotland. Professor Pablo Mendes de Leon Professor of Air & Space Law and Director of the International Institute of Air & Space Law of Leiden University Pablo Mendes de Leon is Professor of Air and Space Law and Director of the International Institute of Air and Space Law of Leiden University, which is one of the leading international scientific research and teaching institutes in the world, specialised in legal and policy issues regarding aviation and space activities. The Faculty of Law of Leiden University founded the institute in 1986. In addition to his duties as Director of the International Institute of Air and Space Law of Leiden University, Pablo Mendes de Leon maintains a vast range of memberships in organisations that work to combine law and practice of aviation law and policy. For instance, he is President of the European Air Law Association, Member, Panel of Experts, Shanghai International Economic and Trade Arbitration Commission, Member, Court of Commercial Arbitration, Bucharest, Romania, Member of the Dutch Aviation Accident Board, a Board Member of the magazines Air and Space Law, Journal of Air Law and Commerce and the Italian ANIA Insurance Newsletter and the Director of the Series of Publications in International Aviation law and Policy with Kluwer Law International. He is the author of a large number of publications on topical issues regarding aviation law and policy. Eugenia Papathanasopoulou Director of Legal Affairs & BoD Secretary of Athens International Airport Eugenia Papathanasopoulou is an Attorney-at-Law at the Supreme Court, holding an LL.M. in Commercial and European Law from the University of Essex, England, currently being Director, Legal Affairs & Secretary to the BoD at ATHENS INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT S.A., with an extensive experience in negotiations with Ministries, Local Authorities and wider Public sector, commercial and concession agreements, regulatory, compliance, procurement and corporate issues, as well as arbitral proceedings before LCIA, as she has assumed the positions of General Counsel, Legal Advisor and Company Secretary in companies of energy, transportation, IT, gambling, media, stock market and sports industries. Eugenia has been a Member of the BoD at the Greek National Opera and is presently a Member of the BoD at Athens Airport Fuel Pipeline Company S.A. She also provides legal services pro bono to the Transparency International Greece and is a Member of its Board of Directors. She is a CEDR UK Accredited Mediator, certified by the Greek Ministry of Justice. She is member in various Greek and International Associations (inter alia member of the Scientific Council of the European Organisation of Mediation & Arbitration [EODID], Greek Association of Mediators, IDEMED, Greek Association of European Law, OPEMED, ACC Europe, CEDR Exchange Network, and member of the Greek Chapter of the European Court of Arbitration). Andrew Harakas Partner, Clyde & Co Andrew is head of the U.S. Aviation Law Practice Group at Clyde & Co US LLP. He has over 25 years of trial and litigation experience in aviation (passenger and cargo), complex tort, regulatory (DOT, FAA, OFAC), insurance and product liability matters. Andrew has represented clients and tried cases arising out of major aviation losses and has extensive appellate experience, having argued numerous appeals before federal and state appellate courts throughout the nation, including three cases before the United States Supreme Court, including Olympic Airways v. Husain, 540 U.S. 644 (2004), Dooley v. Korean Air Lines, 524 U.S. 116 (1998), and Zicherman v. Korean Air Lines, 516 U.S. 217 (1996). He often advises clients on complex litigation, jurisdictional and appellate issues and has filed amicus briefs on behalf of IATA in appellate court cases addressing the Montreal Convention, the Tokyo Convention and the ATSA. Andrew has published numerous articles on a variety of issues relating to domestic and international aviation liability and insurance law and was the General Editor of the twenty-six chapter book Litigating the Aviation Case (4d ed. 2017). Andrew also is a frequent lecturer at conferences sponsored by IATA, the American Bar Association, Institute of Air and Space Law (McGill University), Leiden University and other organizations throughout the world. Andrew received his undergraduate degree from the University of Michigan (B.A.) and his law degrees from the Michigan State University College of Law (cum laude, J.D.) and McGill University, Institute of Air & Space Law (LL.M.). Friday, March 16th 2018 N.J.V. ATHENS PLAZA Erik van Goor Corporate Legal Counsel at KLM Erik van Goor started his professional career in the aviation sector for KLM in 2005. Before KLM he worked between 2000-2005 for the Dutch Telecommunication regulator OPTA, currently known as the Dutch Competition Authority ACM and between 2000-2005 for the law firm currently known as Yspeert advocaten, where he practiced civil law, company law and bankruptcy law. He started to work for KLM specifically in the field of economic regulation, the relation between incumbent Schiphol and the airport users.
