Location Squamish The fact that our Studio is located in Squamish, BC – wedged between Vancouver’s new media hub and Whistler’s world-famous stomping grounds—is no coincidence. The appreciation we have for living here motivates us to drill to the core of our clients’ business with the same enthusiasm. As a small, dynamic team we tailor our solutions to each individual client, and focus intensely on select projects. Rather than short term contracts we focus on long term relationships that allow us to make the biggest impact. We both live and work in the community we serve, believing strongly in the strength of collaboration and social responsibility.

The Role Like all roles at VentureWeb this role will be varied and fast paced. You must be able to wear multiple hats and contribute to multiple projects concurrently. You will be working under tight timelines with your devel- opment, as well as writing specs and scopes, liaising with clients, PM, internal team marketing, design and UX. As a senior team member you will ensure that expecations are met (timeline and budget) as this role is instrumental to the success of VentureWeb. The successful individual will also contribute to the growth of VentureWeb by creating innovative product solutions and by constantly striving to deliver the best possible experience for our clients!

What We Off er: We understand the importance of a healthy work-life-recreate balance, so we always try to be fl exible with hours so that you can enjoy all that Squamish off ers. Our offi ce environment is relaxed and informal - you’ll have your very own workstation (Mac or PC), potted-plant, and access to legit coff ee and tea.

Knowledge Building: Travel to, Accommodation for and Attendance at one work-related conference each year. You get to choose the conference that interests you most. All we ask is a short presentation to the rest of the team over lunch upon your return.

Flexibility: We understand that sometimes life gets in the way, and we understand that some people are productive at diff erent times of the day than others. We’re happy to accommodate your work habits with the caveat that you make yourself available for our weekly status meetings and any scheduled meetings throughout the week.

Winter and Summer Retreats: Typically twice a year, the whole company packs up with their families for a weekend away and a chance to unwind. Think cat skiing in the Selkirks or slaying Chilcotin single track on your mountain bike.

Your Day to Day Responsibilities:

» Working as part of a team in all aspects of projects

» Planning, scoping and documenting projects

» Meeting and communicating with clients and internal teams

» Working on new-build and ongoing maintenance projects

» Identifying opportunities for growth and improvement of existing client solutions

» Working with our marketing, design and UX teams to continually improve performance

» Participation with the wider team

The candidate must be able to demonstrate:

» 3+ years of web development experience

» Development experience in PHP-based open source content management platforms such as

Drupal, Wordpress, Processwire - working in the theme and module/plugin layers

» Theme development and site-building experience with Shopify

» Solid understanding of GIT and version control workflows

» A strong desire to invest in personal development

» A commitment to keeping up with what’s new in your areas of expertise

Nice-to-haves:

» JAMSTACK experience with tools such as Gatsby, Next.js, Vue.js & React, platforms such as

Netlify, content management platforms such as Contentful, Prismic etc.

» Magento 2 experience

» Experience with Acquia platform, 8
