Dear Parishioners: THIS WEEK AT HOLY ROSARY Sunday, 30 May "Faith and reason are like two wings on which the human spirit rises to the contemplation of truth." - St. John Paul II, The Most Holy Trinity Fides et Ratio. Monday, 31 May Visitation of the Blessed Virgin Mary / Memorial Day We are a people of both Faith and Reason - Fides (faith) et Dominican Rite: Queenship of the Blessed Virgin Mary Ratio (reason). Reason can get us quite a ways. Faith can get us Office closed even further.

6:00 AM and 10:00 AM Mass only It is by faith that we proclaim God as a Trinity. When it comes No Confession or Exposition to the Doctrine of the Trinity, the Trinity is simply beyond Tuesday, 1 June reason. No matter how you cut it or by what angle you come at St. Justin Martyr it or clever argumentation you propose, our rational minds Dominican Rite: “Mass of the First Sunday after Pentecost” cannot wrap around that God is Triune. Reason as we might, Wednesday, 2 June we fail to grasp completely the Most Holy Trinity with our limited minds. SS. Marcellinus & Peter Dominican Rite: “Mass of the First Sunday after Pentecost” Properly speaking, the trinitarian nature of God is given to us Thursday, 3 June by divine revelation. It is part of the body of revealed truth St. Charles Lwanga & Companions from Scripture and Tradition and so belongs to the Depositum Dominican Rite: Corpus Christi Fidei (Deposit of Faith). In other words, it is only by faith that Dominican Rite Mass – 7:00 PM we know God is a Trinity.

Friday, 4 June If we could rationalize God in all of his aspects, then we would St. Peter of Verona, OP likely put God in a box and then put that box on a back shelf in Dominican Rite: St. Francis Caracciolo our minds and then eventually forget about Him. God will First Friday Confessions – 7:00 PM always remain a mystery on some level. And that's okay. We First Friday Low Mass – 7:30 PM will have all eternity to contemplate Him in Heaven.

Saturday, 5 June A useful image: Imagine a child attempting to hold an St. Boniface oversized ball with both arms trying to hug around it, but the Dominican Rite: Saturday of the Blessed Virgin Mary child's lack of strength and grip and reach won't allow the ball Sunday, 6 June to be held for more than a few seconds. That's us when we try Corpus Christi to rationalize God as Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. I like to Dominican Rite: Second Sunday after Pentecost think that God laughs every time He escapes our comprehension of Him simply by doing nothing. "Aww, that was cute. And thanks for the hug."

And now an FRIARS & STAFF AT HOLY ROSARY actual image to contemplate: Priory Office Andrei Rublev's Holy Trinity. Very Rev. Peter Do, OP Dean Applegate Prior & Director of Music The Father Interim Director of the Rosary Center Janine Applegate (center) asks, Rev. Corwin Low, OP Director of Parish Education "Who will save Parochial Administrator Mark Fisher mankind?" Rev. Gabriel Mosher, OP Business Manager The Son (left) Parochial Vicar Jackson Fisher responds, "I Rev. Mark Francis Manzano, OP Bookkeeper will save them." Parochial Vicar Katie Edson And the Holy Rev. Paschal Salisbury, OP Administrative Assistant Spirit (right) In Residence Ken Jacks Rev. Brian Mullady, OP Building Maintenance lowers his head In Residence Can Nguyen because He Maintenance Assistant knows the cost of our salvation.
