PIPER (V.O.) I’ve always loved getting clean. CUT TO: INT. TRADITIONAL BATHROOM - 1984 Five year old Piper plays in a bathtub surrounded by toys. PIPER (V.O.) Water is my friend. CUT TO: INT. GIRLY BATHROOM - 1989 Ten year old Piper lathers up and sings her heart out into a shampoo bottle. PIPER (V.O.) I love baths. I love showers. CUT TO: INT. FILM: Jacques Demy’s 1964 French New Wave musical The Umbrellas of Cherbourg screens at the Nuart for its 50th anniversary revival with a new digital restoration. At the 7:30 pm show, actor George Chakiris (who starred in The Young Girls of Rochefort, a collaboration with Demy, actress Catherine Deneuve and composer Michel Legrand) introduces the film and discusses his collaborations with Debra Levine, blogger of artsmeme.com. The film screens through March 20. STORYTELLING: Beth Lapides (of UnCabaret) hosts Say the Word: The New Me, a night of comedic storytelling about “rebirth and reinvention” at the Skirball. -

Si ritrova fra le mura di Litchfield con la sua amante amata, salvo poi uscire per uno stratagemma processuale. Non si può dire che nel Queens se la passi meglio, così Piper fa in modo che possa tornare a soggiornare in un luogo più “ameno “ e sicuro. Laura Prepon, che interpreta Alex, è stata investita di “deitudine” dalle fans, alle quali provoca tachicardia, mancamenti, svenimenti e sconvolgimenti ormonali vari e assortiti ad ogni sua apparizione. Piper Chapman: detentrice, conquistatrice, “proprietaria” del cuore di Alex, della quale apprezza anche altre parti corporee, finge di odiarla in tutti i modi, arrivando al martirio, cioè fidanzandosi con Larry. Ma non c’è niente che riesca a tenere lontane le due fanciulle. La sua autorità ed il suo rapporto con le detenute vengono messi in serio pericolo dall’arrivo di Vee Parker, che si congeda da lei con un paio di souvenir non proprio graditi.
