One of the many misconception about country music is that its audience is strictly southern and rural; my northern urban working class family listened exclusively to country music. As a teenager I was was more interested in Motown than Nashville, but by the time I reached my early thirties I had became a serious country music fan. -

Tim Lahaye & Jerry B
NICOLAE: The Rise of the Antichrist Book 3 of the Left Behind Series TIM LAHAYE & JERRY B. JENKINS CHAPTER ONE It was the worst of times; it was the worst of times. Rayford Steele's knees ached as he sat behind the wheel of the rented Lincoln. He had dropped to the pavement at the crushing realization of his pastor's death. The physical pain, though it would stay with him for days, would prove minor compared to the mental anguish of having yet again lost one of the dearest people in his life. Rayford felt Amanda's eyes on him. She laid one comforting hand on his thigh. In the backseat his daughter, Chloe, and her husband, Buck, each had a hand on his shoulder. What now? Rayford wondered, What do we do without Bruce? Where do we go? The Emergency Broadcast System station droned on with the news of chaos, devastation, terror, and destruction throughout the world. Unable to speak over the lump in his throat, Rayford busied himself maneuvering his way through the incongruous traffic jams. Why were people out? What did they expect to see? Weren't they afraid of more bombs, or fallout? “I need to get to the Chicago bureau office,” Buck said. “You can use the car after we get to the church,” Rayford managed. “I need to get the word out about Bruce.” Global Community peacekeeping forces supervised local police and emergency relief personnel directing traffic and trying to get people to return to their homes. Rayford relied on his many years in the Chicago area to use back roads and side streets to get around the major thoroughfares, which were hopelessly clogged. -

Maria Camila Camacho Garrido How Does Hip Hop Serve as a Catalyst for Collective Resistance? “Fight the Power” – a Beats, Rhymes, & Life Approach ABSTRACT This qualitative study explores what elements of social justice, Hip Hop, and therapy the Oakland, California based agency Beats, Rhymes, & Life, Inc. (BRL) engages in to ignite Collective Resistance among its members, youth, and the outside community. The study utilized a mix of both narrative and phenomenological approaches throughout. In total, twelve participants were interviewed, however, only six participants were included for the purpose of this research and ranged from teaching artists, clinicians, community members, and leaders of BRL. Each participant was asked a series of questions regarding (1) Hip Hop, (2) Oppression and Power, and (3) Collective Resistance along with exploring the role BRL plays throughout those spaces. -

Fight the Power Vol. 2: The All-American Rejects
Fight The Power Vol. 2: The All-American Rejects Written by Andy Huff <AH> and Connor Mayers <untagged> 1. He’s not from Houston, but on one song, this rapper remarked how his style was born because he “Came up on the Geto Boys and the Underground Kingz.” In another of his songs, the chorus remarks that he has “Crocodile on my feet, Fox fur on my back, Bowtie 'round my neck, That's why they call me the gangsta mack.” After the breakup of his most famous group, this man created the Purple Ribbon All-Stars, which launched the career of Janelle Monae. The first appearance of (+) Killer Mike was in a song where this man rapped “wait back to the enemy of the state/is it the Republicans or the Candidate.” As a part of his most famous group, this man rapped that he “Uno, dos, tres, it's on/Did you ever think a pimp rock a microphone?” before ending “When you come to (*) ATL, boy, you better not hide/'Cause the Dungeon Family gon' ride.” In addition to “The Whole World” and “B.O.B.” this rapper had a hit with Sleepy Brown on a song that begins “ready for action nip it in the bud” called “The Way You Move.” For ten points, name this Atlanta rapper who along with Andre 3000 made up Outkast. ANSWER: Big Boi <AH> 2. It’s not Chicago, but a song that depicts a rapper who sees “a baby in need of some Pampers and some food and a place to sleep” which “keeps him on track to be a great MC” is primarily set in this city.
