General Information and Leader’s Guide 100th ANNIVERSARY JAMBOREE

Dear Cubmasters, Scoutmasters, and Crew Advisors, We are excited about the 100th Anniversary Jamboree to be held September 24-26, 2021 at Boxwell Scout Reservation in Lebanon, TN. You don’t want your Scouts to miss this exciting weekend of adventure as we celebrate 100 years of in the area. Boxwell Reservation is a 1100-acre facility that we will have exclusive use during this weekend. There will be plenty of space for camping, activities, and good old Scouting adventures. Your Scouts will be able to participate in a variety of activities, which will be explained further in this Leader’s Guide. We have been able to recruit some great volunteers from across our council who will be guiding the activities of the weekend. We will have a museum of historical Middle Tennessee collectibles – patches, neckerchiefs, documents and pictures sharing the history of the Middle Tennessee Council. There will be several alumni events on Saturday celebrating volunteer leadership, camp, and more. Steps to ensure your Scouts have a great weekend of adventure:

• Make sure the date of September 24-26, 2021 is on your unit’s calendar and your unit is making plans to attend this great event. • Share the Leader’s Guide Information and Trading Post Pre-Order form with your Scouts and families. • Watch for additional information on the 100th Anniversary Jamboree on the council website www.mtcbsa.org, Facebook, Scout Shorts, and other council media. • If unit is asked to provide an activity, enthusiastically accept this opportunity. • Finally, register early to ensure that your Scouts don’t miss this opportunity. CENTENNIAL CELEBRATION SHOWS Scouts BSA, Venturing, and Sea Scouts Our Centennial Celebration Show will be a capstone event for the Council Jamboree and our 2021 Council Centennial Celebration. Participants will gather to celebrate 100 years of service, camping, program, and Scouting’s impact in Middle Tennessee. As we celebrate and reflect on the past, we will look forward to the future and the impact our Scouts will make in our second century!

Cub Scouts

Calling all Cub Scouts! The Cub Scout Centennial Celebration Show will be a fun, light-hearted, interactive program. Wear your Cub Scout uniform. Get ready to cheer and laugh. You may even win a prize. Additionally, please ask your Cub Scouts to make an animal mask to represent their den. Lions would make their own lion mask, wolves would make a wolf mask, etc. This would make a good den activity in the weeks before the Jamboree. Please be sure and wear your mask to the Cub Scout show.
