Satoko Urata Born on December 22, 1980, Saga Prefecture Career Summary High school days: Entered the Spring inter-high school games Won the Asian youth championship Transferred to NEC Red Rockets: Days of V league, won non-professional volleyball (V league) Beach volleyball professional 2002: Transferred to beach volleyball 2004: Formed a pair with Mika Saeki, 7th in the FIVB World Tour ranking 2005: On the JBV tour, won the Tokyo/Fukuoka meet, took second place in the Fukuoka/Ehime meet. In 2002, I transferred to beach volleyball from indoor volleyball. After forming a pair with Mika Saeki, who took the glorious 4th place in the Sydney Olympic Games, I rapidly gained strength. Since then, I have become an influential player, gaining a victory in the Beach Volleyball Japan in 2004 and the like. Selected as a player representing Japan in the Asian Games held in 2006, I won the Domestic Odaiba Games and the Japan Ladies in 2007. Since 2009, I have been pairing with Chiaki Kusuhara who entered the Beijing Olympic Games and won the Domestic Tour Odaiba Meet, and since 2010 I have paired with Takemi Nishibori, aiming at winning a medal in the London Olympic Games in 2012. Meanwhile, to be active in social contributions activities, I have assumed the position of the director of the NPO Corporation Japan Beach Culture Promotion Association, and am striving for environmental maintenance activities for the “Lets protect the sea!” movement as a public relations messenger. .
