After what seems like the endless winter of 2019, and normally I am the guy pining for cool weather, it is time to welcome summer and tell Old Man Winter to take a long vacation! Please accept our most sincere thanks for everyone who participated in the Food & Beverage survey. Pete Peterson and Chef Devlin have been hard at work sorting all the information provided and are very excited to be rolling out new menus based on the survey results. First on the list is the new Oasis menu. Chef Devlin has put together a wonderful collection of both healthy and of course… decadent selections sure to tempt your taste buds. Look for the new Sea View Grille menu to Georgia be implemented this month and be sure to come enjoy the creative seasonal offerings from the at Yappy Hour culinary team. Ashley of course is excited to keep the summer calendar full of unique and interesting events, look to your mobile app for calendar updates and information. What makes our newspaper unique is that the an Exclusive Story Written by J.H. students involved choose what they write about. They often decide to change subjects and this month I had a demand from a student to write fiction. I think it’s great that this newspaper is a way for our students to express their creativity anyway they want. Our illustrator worked on the fiction section as well. To tell you the truth, the subject of the fiction is pretty serious, but it is close to what some of our teenagers might be feeling, and it’s important to bring them a message of hope, especially when everything seems dark and hopeless. Indeed, you, who might be in distress, never hesitate to reach out to an adult or a friend, there’s always an open hand somewhere to be found.
