EUCHARISTIC ADORATION Exposition and Benediction St. Michael Catholic Church EXPOSITION AND ADORATION Opening Hymn O salutaris O salutaris hostia, Quae caeli pandis ostium: Bella premunt hostilia, Da robur, fer auxilium. Uni trinoque Domino Sit sempiterna gloria: Qui vitam sine termino Nobis donet in patria. Amen. O Saving Victim, op’ning wide The gate of heav’n to us below! Our foes press on from ev’ry side: Your aid supply, your strength bestow. To your great name be endless praise, Immortal Godhead, One in Three; O grant us endless length of days When our true native land we see. Amen. Prayer Father in heaven, You have made us for Yourself; Our hearts are restless until they rest in You. Fulfill this longing through Jesus, the Bread of Life, Who alone satisfies the hungers of the human family. By the power of Your Spirit lead us to the heavenly table Where we may feast on the vision of Your glory For ever and ever. Amen. Silent Adoration You may sit or kneel in prayer during this period. Prayer During Time of Pandemic Almighty and eternal God, our refuge in every danger, to whom we turn in our distress; in faith we pray look with compassion on the afflicted, grant eternal rest to the dead, comfort to mourners, healing to the sick, peace to the dying, strength to healthcare workers, wisdom to our leaders and the courage to reach out to all in love, so that together we may give glory to your holy name. Through our Lord Jesus Christ, your Son, who lives and reigns with you in the unity of the Holy Spirit, God, for ever and ever. Amen. BENEDICTION OF THE BLESSED SACRAMENT As the Blessed Sacrament is incensed by the minister, all sing: Tantum ergo Tantum ergo Sacramentum Veneremur cernui: Et antiquum documentum Novo cedat ritui: Praestet fides supplementum Sensuum defectui. Genitori, Genitoque Laus et jubilatio, Salus, honor, virtus quoque Sit et benedictio: Procedenti ab utroque Compar sit laudatio. Amen. Come adore this wondrous presence; Bow to Christ, the source of grace! Here is kept the ancient promise Of God’s earthly dwelling-place. Sight is blind before God’s glory. Faith alone may see his face. Glory be to God the Father, Praise to his coequal Son, Adoration to the Spirit, Bond of love, in Godhead one. Blest be God by all creation Joyously while ages run! Amen. Prayer You have given them bread from heaven. Containing in itself all delight. Lord Jesus Christ, You gave us the Eucharist As the memorial of Your suffering and death.
