The Council, attended by all 48 Councillors, meets five times a year and makes critical decisions such as setting the Budget and appointing a Council Leader. The Executive Committee, made up of 10 Councillors and led by the Leader of the Council, makes most of the decisions other than those that go to Council. In addition, Policy and Scrutiny Committees covering areas such as leisure, refuse and recycling, assist the Executive by making recommendations for changes or additions to District Council policy. If you have a concern or suggestion about your local area, contact your Ward Councillor as your representative on the District Council (full contact details are in this document). For a list of public meetings you can attend, look on the District Council notice boards or visit our website and click on Council Meetings or phone us on 01923 776611.
