When Reverend Thomas Flavell first established St John in New Zealand in 1885 a newspaper report said the objective of the newly formed St John branch was: “to render assistance to sufferers from accident, or wounds, in time of peace or war.” St John has continued to pursue this objective and has developed into an innovative and large national organisation. Those who served before us would, I am sure, be very proud to see the wide range of services St John provides today. 2 > REPORT OF thE CHAncELLOR In my time here I have been really impressed and humbled by the dedication and commitment of St John members.
